Injustice: Gods Among Us; New Game by NetherRealm Studios

Teenage Mexican Spider-man. Though he doesn’t have a harem yet.

Oh, so you’re just a troll.

You’re right tho, WB bought NRS and made MK9 possible because all those other games that outsold every other fighting game in america were rubbish and nobody took them seriously. I don’t know why they bothered bringing it back after that self-imposed 8 year hiatus they took from fighting games.

Universal chip was one of my favorite things about MK9 and Mk games in general. I hope it stays and I’m pretty sure it will since it accomplishes it’s goal so well.

i like how you talk

Agreed. They don’t need to make it exactly like MK, but keep some of the aspects within the game. Universal Chip is what helped to decrease the number of turtles in MK, making it more strategic and offensive.

Yes, because whenever someone, anyone says something you don’t like it’s “trolling” GTFO.

Clearly you didn’t read what I said, or you don’t have the ability to understand what I said. Don’t bother trying to talk to me until you can understand the words that I type.

Looks like he addressed your post adequately. You’re trolling because you said MK hasn’t been worth a damn until recently. Infact the MK titles have been hit and miss through the years. The models and especially the female character’s faces looked way better in DA and Dec. And if we’re not strictly keeping this to 1 on 1 fighting games Shaolin Monks was more than a decent title.

Also you just sound like a douche with all of your suppositions of phantom implications.

So weigh the troll tag with run of the mill douche baggery and it’s a lose, lose situation. But don’t make the mistake that no one would pick up on the thinly veiled trolling.

Holy shit I forgot that was even a thing

They’re getting them out of the way early so all the godlike spacefaring characters with spectacular powers can make up the reveals form now til release.

…right?

I hear what you’re saying but really we don’t need to defend MK or it’s history from anyone. Shogun isn’t trolling he just doesn’t know enough about what he’s talking about so he sounds like he’s trolling.

It’s best to ignore these types of guys imo because no matter what they say the only fighting game as legendary and loved as MK, is SF. Don’t let these guys bother you bro .

Oh no, see, I do. He didn’t address the fact that I account for the NUMBERS with the fact that there is a subset of the gaming population who are so die hard to MK they’ll buy anything MK. No one outside of that subset (which you seem to belong to) would consider anything after UMK3 and before MK9 to be anything but mediocre at best, with games like MK vs DC and MKA being unplayable garbage.

Legendary and loved? You soundin real fanboy right now.

If you don’t think MK is legendary, you on some next level drugs.

You don’t have to like MK, but to ignore its impact on the culture of gaming and media in general is about as ignorant as it gets. I mean, I don’t really like Mario games but I’m not gonna go say that Mario isn’t legendary.

Thanks for proving my point about you being Ignorant to Mortal Kombat and it’s importance.

The Mortal Kombat** feature** movie franchise is getting a featured reboot. How many games in ANY genre can even get ONE movie let alone a SEQUEL, let alone a reboot decades later.

But MK isn’t loved by millions who haven’t even bought a game in years right?

I’m not ignoring it’s impact, I’m just not calling it “legendary”. That’s just silly hyperbole. MKs early legacy was that it was a (mediocre) Street Fighter rip off using digitized characters and a LOT of violence. It was a big reason why we has the ESRB. Then Tobias (the brains of the operation) left, and shit went downhill fast. What followed were a string of lackluster games, people paid attention because they were very violent lackluster games.

These fanboys act like the 3D games before 9 were anything more than jokes, and they expect the regular portion of the population to agree with them. lol

There are a lot of lackluster games for the series…hell, I’d go as far as to say only the first 3 and 9 are the only half decent games of the entire series (how you feel about Shaolin Monks notwithstanding). However it’s still the most well known Fighting Game in the entire world at large, brought on the ESRB, has a solid amount of media outside of gaming and here’s the big thing…no matter how many bad games the series has, MK’s image never really faltered that harshly. Even after all the crap, people still clamored and hyped the next game. No apathy like a Sonic game or ridiculous hype backlash like a CoD. Yeah, amongst the FGC it’s never been that strong, but that’s not what the legend is about.

*second best known.

**probably third.

The 3D games as pure fighting games were very bad, Deadly Alliance being the least terrible. As pure video games they were alright, had lots of single player content and RPG style storymodes, and weird mini games like puzzle fighter and kart racing.

Shaolin monks on the other hand is a legitimately good video game, in fact it was fantastic, however it was not really made by NRS, it was made by paradox, who made Wu tang Shaolin style, backyard wrestling and some X-men fighting games. Ed boon was very involved in it, and some of the dudes moved over to NRS proper, but most left, main combat designer joined Sony and worked on God of War 2, others made WWE allstars, and a notable dude Omar Kendall who now works at Superbot who just made that Smash clone.

I would like to see NRS do another 3D MK game, I don’t think it was the 3rd dimension that made those games suck, but other things more related to Midway being not the best company to work for.
With Injustice existing and being a proper Back to Block 2D fighting game, turning MK back to 3D would help distance them from just being clones.

I expect no one else to agree with me.

only thing I can’t see is the word ‘proper’ in there.

Who says anything good about 4-armageddon that isn’t Shaolin Monks? Not even on TYM have I seen that.
