While unrelated to this thread I just wanna say that I hope this game’s cross-ups don’t evolve to that nonsense in SF4. I understand the dynamic of cross-ups but I’d rather them be handled like in every other 2D fighter that has them…that being a combination of a small reversal window with true block strings which force you to time your reversal well if you wanna escape. Unblockables from simple jump-ins has to be one of the worst introductions to a 2D fighter in years.
@Danx, I don’t think there’s much to worry about there. SF4 is literally the only fighting game (even amongst capcom games) that has such an overt bias towards cross ups and vortex play. I’m inclined to believe it was a conscious choice to combat the games obnoxious autocorrect reversal / anti air game but I was no vanilla SF4 expert. Even Marvel 3 has a modicum of “blocking assistance” when it comes to unfair blocking ambiguous cross ups.
That said, we’ve already seen evidence of some dive kicking and tri jumping and even GG style reverse air dashes so there will be some goofiness, but it certainly won’t be on par with SF4’s “I’m doing this, but neither of us have any idea what side it will be, so lets just see what happens” garbage.
I haven’t seen to much talk about this, but ed boon has been teasing animal man, swamp thing, and batwing on his twitter and when there going to reveal the next characters.

Hmm, judging by the comic and the reeses, as well as the boxes in the background, I’m sure it’s going to be penguin and twoface as the next reveals.

Good powersets to use for their moves, and the quality of their titles are consistently awesome. They also have the perk of being more obscure, so they have an underdog vibe to them, the fans of the characters want more exposure for them. Kind of like (for lack of a better example) how in the build up to mvc3 people asked for Arthur. Ghosts and Goblins wasn’t exactly unknown, but it wasn’t a big priority of capcom at the time either .His games were strong enough that people thought he deserved the chance despite this.
Haven’t they teased Swamp Thing before? Gotta be it.

There current crossover story is also 1 of the better ones happening in DC or marvel currently IMO. I would love to see these guys get some much deserved attention.

I’m not the greatest Superman fan out there (actually I hate the character), so I could be wrong here or there, but I’ll still give it a try:
- They were living under a red sun, so they didn’t have powers at all. Kryptonians were actually a fairly friendly race. They lived in piece and harmony, since they evolved beyond war, even though they had some sick fucks like General Zod and his few minions, yet they actually were never a huge threat. (And even when they became one, they landed in the Phantom Zone, a prison for really, really bad guys)
They did have crime though, and therefore police and even superheroes. One of the two main superheroes was Nightwing. Superman once told Dick Grayson that story and Dick decided to take the name Nightwing in honor of Krypton and Superman, when he stopped being Robin.
Guess they somenow never went out flying and looking for new worlds to discover. Maybe the distances were too insane, even for their technology, until Jor-El came along with some plot device that brought Kal-El to Earth, where he became a Superman thanks to the yellow sun.

Most of them died, because their planet exploded.
I think the most common reason for that is Brainiac, who was an artificial intelligence, created to help the Kryptonians out, but he saw the flaw and tried to hide the fact that the planet was going to explode in few days. Supermans father knew that and tried to warn them all, but no one believed him, so he did everything to at least save his son.
Obviously few other Kryptonians surived and Brainiac, who also left the planet, before the planet exploded.
Additionally the explosion caused the remainings of the planet to become radioactive for Kryptonians (Kryptonite). -
There were a bunch of Kryptonians later on in the Superman comics, living in an miniature Utopia. I think something happened to that world and it got destroyed. All the Kryptonians died and Superman went emo for quite a while. Don’t quote me on that one though.

I don’t care for animal man, if they are going to put someone with animal powers, they should put Vixen. They don’t have any black woman.
Swamp thing is definitely on my top list.
Another behemoth, and probably interesting moves.
It might be interesting though, NRS has never made a character remotely like him.
For the next woman I’m still hoping against hope for Big Barda.
i prefer animal man to vixen but a little diversity would be cool so… yeah. i hope they reveal black canary, raven or circe for the ladies

I got most of my fav Male characters in to play so now I’m just hoping for B.Carnary, Katana ( she’s getting her own book now!), Raven, Ice (would be a cool choice), Zatanna, or Vixen.
If I could get a couple of these I’d be pleased. I’m not sure if I will like playing WW yet and would like more female options personally.
