Injustice: Gods Among Us; New Game by NetherRealm Studios

Weak american mind to sucked into the television. Let me paint the motherland with your blood.

Spoiler

Well goddammit we all know what’s gonna happen now, the story is gonna hardcore wank to Bats, lame as fuck

**Interview / QA from Gamescom - all credits goes to Happy Happy Trigger! **

Q: Online-Passes?
A: No straight answer, but the question was asked if people like online-passes and the audience answered with a loud: NO!

Q: Skipable stage-transactions?
A: The cinematic transactions are a huge part of the entire idea behind the look of the game and therefore they won’t be skipable, or even shorter. That’s also the reason why there won’t be an announcer, since they want the game to feel “smooth”.

Q: Wildstorm-characters?
A: No informations on the roster yet, but they said that there won’t be an overkill with Batman related characters. They are concentrating on the entire DC character cast and that you will see few unexpected surprises in the roster.

Q: Difficulty & Tutorial-mode?
A: The game will offer hardcore-players interesting stuff, but the comic readers, who maybe never played a fighting game before will be able to pick it up and learn it as well. They’re still not sure about the scope of the tutorial-mode.

Q: Tag team?
A: They didn’t decide if Injustice will feature a tag team mode, and how big the scope for that feature could / would be.

Q: Interactions-Balancing?
A: They’re balancing the game in a way where the various special abilities won’t give the characters vast advantages when it comes to the stage-interactions. Cyborg and his grappeling hook were brought up as an example.

What the hell are you talking about?

I was making a general statement, and common knowledge doesn’t mean shit on the internet.

[spoiler=]Even the villains become a part of that storyline. And Batgod being Batgod uses some kind of a gadget out of his utility belt, to even the powerlevels between the powerhouses and the ordinary gadget users out.[/details]

A little disappointed at the fact it seems Catwoman will be the only Gamesom character reveal, but the story leak makes up for it. Sounds interesting.

I bet Batman and SuperMan fight over a bitch.

Do I really need to post my Batman pic with the marvel hoes on his lap again to show that Bats is in no lack of bitches? Cuz I’ll do it.

What I wanna know is who side Wonder Woman is on? You know she has a huge influence in the Dcu and seems to be using the amazons as her personal fighting force so it’d be interesting to see where she falls on this.

It’d be cool if she was neutral, I could see that as she is so full of compassion.

It’ll probably be like Kingdom Come in that way, her being the hardcore ORDER type.

She’s Team Anti-Necks

if the spoilers are right, they’re going exactly where I was afraid they would with the story.

This makes me sad.

also, they need to just officially release the storyline now, I wanna talk about it, but it’s too much of a pita to use spoilers and nested spoilers and assorted madness.

Explain yoself

lol just 'cuz I said I didn’t wanna mess with spoilers ;p Still, fine, any chance to hear myself jabber

story stuff

[details=Spoiler]
So the first or second trailer hinted that somebody (who sounded like Superman) was pisst because somebody took ‘her’ away from him.

There were already a ton of references to Kingdom Come (which should be required reading for comics people, as an aside. It’s like Civil War done better in every single way, including both sides being relatable)

The thing is, also from the trailer we see some really extreme fascistic imagery.

(seriously it might as well be this)

So basically my fear was that it was going to be Kingdom Come, but instead of being a discussion of how superhumans deal with each other and the public it was going to just be “Superman goes crazy and takes over the world”.

Which, as I understand it, is essentially what we have happening. It’s worse because by their characters, Bats is the one likely to start a fascist reign of terror, except the powerlevels make that hard so he always gets to be the rebel, because how are you going to repress goddamn Superman?

So it seems like it’ll be a LOT like Civil War, down to the fact that both sides are supposed to make sense, but in reality one side is clearly the bad guys and in the wrong.

A lot we don’t know of course, but if that info is right, and from the look and tone of the trailer, it seems really damn likely that’ll be the case.[/details]

How is Batman more likely to reign terror? He’s always worried about power and it’s misuse, in fact that’s the reason Brother I (likely spelled wrong) exist and Bats still won’t fully forgive himself even for that?

Makes sense that out of the big three Supes is the one most likely to snap seeing as Diana is a warrior but has so much compassion in her heart and respects life too much to start a war. Batman has the memory of his parents death as a constant reminder about how given someone even a little power (a gun) could be abused and cause horrible results.

Superman mean while is always dealing with the feeling that he doesn’t exactly belong and at times feels like an outcast on the only home he’s ever known. I think personally none of them would do something this extreme but if I had to pick Supes would be the only logical choice.

well in the example of Kingdom Come, WW was the hardass.

The thing is, Batman is all about reigning through terror, just not through official means.

That’s his whole schtick, really. He’s an essentially unaccountable force of terror against the underworld. Also, he’s kind of totally insane.

It’s really not that far a step from what he does to the Tonton Macoutes.

Batman is not insane xes, he may be a bit paranoid and have a freakish drive to stop crime but he’s not insane at all. Batman is a symbol of fear for villains but he isn’t about reigning through it, Gotham is his turf much like Daredevil and Brooklyn and they patrol it.

I’ll admit the Dark knight is kind of a control freak but he stresses being responsible with power more than Spiderman. Batman wants to make villains think he’s this omnipotent force that will kill you if you do evil but it’s just a front to scare off would be thugs and goons.

That’s why I love that scene from the Batman movie where the Joker basically said " You won’t break your rule on killing so you have nothing to threaten me with HAHAHhahahahahah" that was great writing for both characters there.

The Joker saw threw his true schtick.

Batman, that nigga crazy. Especially under Grant Morrison and Frank Miller’s pen. Hell’s Kitchen is in Manhatman

I don’t care what anyone says. I actually enjoyed the parts of All Star Batman that I read. The small growing beard, the abuse to robin, the goddamn batman, it was grand.

I honestly think that people just don’t want to see Batman get too dark.

A world where he started slitting throats with those batarangs would be striking and memorable, but people would riot.
