Agree. Hopefully, the store still has enough in stock to offer a replacement. If not, maybe you can use the manufacturer’s warranty. Yeah, a stick broken straight out the box should be returned. Even if you were going to gut it anyway (not saying you were), it’s nice to have WORKING spare parts lying around. Especially when those spare parts include a PCB with built-in LED lighting.
Yeah but I got it for $39.99 with the game which I was going to buy anyways, this was just for spare parts and stuff to go into a Hori RAP VX SA case or as a second stick for when my friends come over, that has been gutted due to some bad idea I had to make virtual pinball cabinet. I like Injustice and wanted it for PS3 because the game freaks out in the settings on my PC. It was also just to hold me over until my Qanba Q1 comes. Now I think I am going to put the Sanwa stick into the Qanba Q1. I know it isn’t the most fancy stick but is it what I could afford. Also I think Gamestop is sold out of the Battle Edition. I have owned the 360 version of the Injustice stick before I got my PS3 set up and only used my PC.
TLDR, got it as a spare / mod project, ended up keeping it because of the game. Qanba Q1 will be at my doorstep this Monday.
The end that goes in the stick had too much black molded stuff to fit in the small hole so I had to cut it with a knife and tear it apart. Then I wrapped some electrical tape around it.
But Everydaysource is not a maker of quality cables, (their cables are craptacular).
Monoprice makes some really high quality stuff, I buy 10 and 15 feet USB cable from them all the time for sticks.
You are comparing something cheaply made, thin and flimsy but you save 2 bucks on shipping compares to a cable you can choke a man to death with and the cable would be fine.
Actually, I just checked and Monoprice seems to have a new shipping method that’s cheaper, so you can go ahead and use that. I will say that I haven’t noticed a difference between the cables, and I don’t see why there would be since they use the same injection molded plastic (or close to it). In fact, you might want something flimsy so it’s easier to cut apart since it probably won’t fit, but I doubt any of these cables will be easier to cut apart due to the aforementioned plastic being the same.
I’m not sure how a data cable could break while you’re strangling some dude with it, but I do respect trying to be prepared for all eventualities. WWBD, right?
Going to be dual modding this with a SFXT pad later on. If I don’t provide a switch and just have 2 USB cables hanging out, does the thing about the D+/- lines still need to be addressed? Or does this have to be addressed regardless of having a switch or not?
As much as I’d like to go with a single USB cable solution, the explanation on how to approach it is as clear as mud at the moment (to me anyway).
Can anybody comment on upgrading the switches that come stock in the injustice stick to the Sanwa JLF PCB. Is there a difference? From what I’ve seen, both pcb boards are made by Omron.
With the PS360+, are you able to still take advantage of the mini usb in the stick or would that need to be replaced? Looking to just make it simple and place a PS360+ instead of dual modding.
Luckily, the Injustice stick comes with a disconnectable USB cable. So in MOST cases, it’ll just have one USB cable around the stick lol. That is, until the customer decides to use PS3 side… but I’ve asked him. He’s okay with the cable sticking out.
