I donāt mean to be contrary, but it might actually be a really good fight stick for someone getting into modding. To start with, itās a good stick. Secondly, and most importantly, itās cheap. My first stick was the Hori Wireless Tekken stick for the PS3. It is notoriously terrible to mod (much like the Injustice stick). I think if Iād started with a Madcatz TE, I NEVER would have started opening up my sticks because of a fear of breaking or ruining them. I certainly NEVER would have had to learn how to solder (TEās are very mod friendly).
I guess the point Iām trying to make is that a cheap difficult to mod stick is kind of a great choice for a first timer. It forces you to learn do some really creative stuff (following the examples of better modders) and it allows you to do it at a price point that makes it easy to shrug off the fear of making mistakes.
I completely disagree. This is far from beginner stick for modding. Your modding options are very limited at the basic level, the stick isnāt easy to open. And there ALOT of case cutting involved.
Itās cool man but I stand by my previous statement. Itās very cramped internally unless youāre willing to cut alot of the plastic as Darksakul stated. Also, many beginners would feel much more comfy just opening say something like a MC TE/SE & replacing/swapping parts since not everyone wants to start soldering ASAP but to each their own.
My brother just picked up the Injustice bundle and seems to have a weird problem with his stick.
For some reason you can not move left. the stick inputs will only pick up UP, Down, Right. If you move left it just inputs as Down. Also, it looks like the pulse doesnt work for the led.
I tried swapping out the wiring harness for him but that doesnt seem to be the issue. Could it just be faulty PCB?
The pulse function works for any game as long as it has a Dualshock 3 vibration function. It lights up when you get hit/damaged so you have to turn on vibration in the options menu of the game. I tried it with MK9: KE the other week (right when I received the 2nd stick) to make sure the function of that specific stick works. When I had the first stick, I confirmed the pulse function works with Street Fighter: AE as well.
As for not being able to move left, it sounds like itās the joystick leverās microswitch as Darksakul stated if youāre having the same issue even if you tried it with a JLF.
That happened to me (except it was up that wasnāt working). It turned out to be the microswitch like Darksakul said. I ended buying a whole new PCB assembly. But you can just replace the microswitch if youāre comfortable soldering.
I have tried it on three different JLFs now and it is still the same thing.
I plug the JLF harness to the Injustice PCB. The JLF is outside of the stick with nothing change. I still get the same result.
If Iām getting the same result from 4 different sticks with different PCBs wouldnāt that mean there is a problem with either the Injustice main PCB or the wiring? Iām wondering if I should tell my brother to return it or if there is a simple solution that I am over looking.
did anyone figure out where the d- d+ traces resistors that gummo was talking about. After poking around I am guessing it is R01 and R02 on the board. trying a dual mod with impV2 and sfxt360 pad. I have hooked up start select guide and directional inputs everything works except when I push up it resets the sfxt pad any ideas
not sure if this applys to the ps3 version as well but like I said when I plug in the stick and push up it acts like I unplugged it and plugged it back in and I double checked the wiring
Well my experiences with the pulse setting is obviously different. Perhaps you got lucky or I was unlucky with crap PCB.
I find it gimmicky at best, It didnāt even wanted to work right for me in Injustice.
But that isnāt a issue for me any longer as I gutted the original PCB out.
Just picked up the Battle Edition as my first PS3 stick(Iāve owned the 360 version) and it isnāt recognized by my console or PC. No lights nothing. I know how to take it apart and just want to know what could be wrong with it.
