Info Request from Rey: Controller Reset Bug

Rey has asked for further details from PS3 users having trouble saving their controller configurations.

Please try to be as detailed as possible eg. game system, controller make, wired or wireless, pad or stick, custom built, player 1 or player 2, were profiles switched, local play or online play, ranked or casual, time (immediately or after playing for X games or minutes) etc…

If you could bullet point the process that would be a helpful to thanks!

If mod could sticky this that would be great.

I’ve opened my Bugzilla for HDR which can be found here: http://www.roadcru.com/sf/bugzilla/.

Slight bit more info about it can be found here: http://forums.shoryuken.com/showpost.php?p=5803771&postcount=182

I’ll write up a bug for this issue and link it here. Everyone that has the requested info for Rey can add a comment with their information. Hopefully we can see a pattern and get it fixed.

I have also encountered this bug on 360, although in a different manner. While my controls saved for a good period of time, they did eventually unassign on their own. Here’s my series of events…

Buys game

Sets HP/HK to RT/LT

Plays only SSF2T: HDR for a day or two (online and offline) with controls kept

Decides to play on another arcade game (SotN)

Goes back on SSF2T: HDR

RT and LT are unnasigned

The bug for this problem has been written up and can be found here:
http://www.roadcru.com/sf/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=2

does problem occur only occur when there are 2 controllers present or even when there is one. Has anyone tried saving one configuration first, exiting game, then booting game up again to do the 2nd controller, exit and reboot again?

I’ll give it a shot tonight with three controllers.

By the way, Rey signed up for the Bugzilla and has already responded to a bug.

That’s interesting you mention the multiple controllers. For the longest time, I was just using 1 controller (an HRAP2). When I suddenly started using 2 controllers again (with a 6A in slot 1) and started the game back up, my controller settings reset. So maybe the reset issue is triggered when you have a different type of controller (stick compared to pad) in slot 1?

In any case, the reset has only happened after exiting and restarting the game for me.

I have 2 different sticks I use interchangebly, and each has a different button layout, but it always seems to know the proper layout for the proper stick. Maybe it is setting buttons by individual controller?

Cool, I checked the link but cant see any replies

I’ve added to that bug report too.
