on MP being modified… it could be a number of things… more active frames… more hitstun so that jab shoulder combos afterwards without CH that would mean more blockstun as well… which would make run stop off far st. strong(if this is what they’re referring to, i’m going to assume they are), much safer. the fact that they’re making it better is great though… no matter how they make it better… sounds good to me.
it really sounds like they want guy to be a much better/stronger character overall. i’m really happy that it sounds like they’re giving him a lot more improvements instead of nerfing him. the only nerf i can think of so far is the flip grab stuff. and if they keep giving him these buffs… i really won’t care about the flip grab nerfs.
edit: could “kue-yama” be referring to his overhead? or ninja sickle?

I’m…less than thrilled so far.
I mean my main reason is because loke tests tend to have unreliable info, ESPECIALLY when it comes to small tweaks like frame data buffs. So far all the “buffs” guy has been said to receive are the sort of things that suddenly become “oh wait nvm. just felt faster”. That said if all of this is accurate i guess it’s ok. TC combo getting fixed i don’t see as much of a buff, and ditto to U2. Grab getting nerfed is huge IMO since it was such a threat before, and it’s not that it’s so easy to land that you can just assume the dmg will hit in a match. I mean if 200’s high that’s fine, but dropping it to 120? Here’s hoping the HP hozanto info is accurate.
Honestly i’m worried guy will come out of this nerfed, especially since i’m pretty sure the flip dmg nerf is staying, but could see them untweaking other stuff(although i’m betting the u2 dmg nerf and TC fix will stay as well.)
No, I misread it the first time, it’s H?zanto, I edited the translation. Don’t care about the “kue-yama” part (you can erase it), I corrected the translation with the H?zanto part although I’m not sure if they really talk about weak and strong versions but that’s what I understand…
oh, and it’s a decrease of frames of handicap. I hadn’t seen there was an “F”.
The flip was never a big part of Guys game in SSFIV anyway.People who know their Guy matchup will counter it every time.
Guy still has his biggest strengths(ambiguous crossups,resets,above average easy damage and runstop pressure) and his rushdown has been improved.I’ve said this like 3 times already lol.
as long as Guy can grab some full screen fireball and do some damage… i can take any small nerf… ok 200 is to much and it can be countered but… as long as i can do hp flip land and some damage 130+ would be fine including any other buffs please CAPCOM dont make it anti air only…

I have also never landed MP bushin flip …its slow and people easily counter it with jump roundhouse…
Am actually glad they are nerfing HP Bushin flip (because that’ll get rid of this stupid habit i have …every time i am at low Health i do a HP bushin and pray to god i catch the opponent ()
But so far i like the changes…its as though capcom is giving him some strengths/nerfs based on Alpha … Low dmg bushin flip,Better run/stop,better MP,Faster houzanto … I woudnt be surprised if they nerfed his health too

This might not be changed because no one really complained about it. Can someone confirm if run/slide xx Super connects or does it still whiff. I was really annoyed by the fact that Capcom would add this when it would never hit.
Random Kanji lesson:p the kanji for mountain can be read as Yama or Zan (or san like fuji). Like Kanayama (where my old apartment was) or Kinkazan (Local mountain near my current apartment) So Hozanto is indeed mountain breaker technique or something to that effect.
I’ve never heard of run slide super. When did you see that? Bushin flip super however was an awesome combo. Even forward throw super.
Luckily I’ve never used the hard punch flip for anything so that won’t effect me. (Used ex to wake up through fire balls) MP I used in block strings just for the elbow and lp for the grab so guess I’ll be uneffected. Just keep doing what I’ve been doing I guess. I still whiff my tc too so maybe I’ll countine doing so in preperation. lol
Yeah it’s in SSFIV and it’s completely useless, which is why I’m wondering if they fixed it or removed it.
RunXSlide ->Super will never connect because slide knocks down … i doubt they will go and change the properties of a move like that… but i think the only use of Run->Slide super is to beat out FA… does it whiff even then??
RunXSlide -> Super is for a blocked slide. Since slide has such poor recovery being able to cancel into Super is helpful when they try to punish your slide and eat Super instead.
^^ It wont do that…because you are cancelling RunSlide into super…the opponent will be in block stun and even if he presses anything it wont come out
If someone fa’s a slide it could prolly work. That’s very situational though…
Ok I never thought about that I just fadc Slide or eat combo from opponent. So essentially, you wanna get into the habit of buffering Super after slide. Going to have to keep that in mind. Thanks.

Guy needs to have the first hit of c.mk cancellable like in Alpha2. single most important change needed to improve him!
