capcom fixing this TAC infinite glitch will cause another glitch
bet it?
there were some challenging infinites in mvc2. I made up a strider infinite and the spiderman infinite some NY took credit for and those are REALLY technical infinites. The spiderman one is like a triple just frame for 1 loop of an infinite. Some of the more recognizable ones were easy. Mag rom was easy to do but took lots of practice to master and while the IM infinite was never very hard, using IM to properly get a hit was.
there was also the chris schmidt infinite with psylock on airborne sentinel that ended up working on other characters and storm had some FS break infinites that were later mastered. I don’t think anyone mastered the midscreen infinite with storm on sentinel versus a juggled sentinel. Storm could do some type of psy hits, s.fp, sjc, adf lp xxxxx combo on sentinel for a wall carry infinite and the damn thing was beyond technical.
there were easy mode infinites as well as infinites that could take fucking forever to master if not impossible to do due to human error. none of the mvc3 infinites though seem to be hard
I hit 100% before I saw your reply lol But thanks anyway. And they are easier then Zero’s loop.
On a side note…
I hope they don’t patch this, for the level of play is getting higher. Plus, it’s not like MvC2 where you get mixups into infinites, guard break into infinites, and 1st hit at the beginning of a match into infinites. In UMvC3 I wouldn’t bank on infinites because 1st one must land a hit, 2nd you have to guess correct on a 33% chance of a TAC (Would have said 50% but people will look for TAC’s now), 3rd not dropping the infinite. If you can get all those right then you deserve to kill my character.
" Plus, it’s not like MvC2 where you get mixups into infinites"
You mean I can’t hit teleport+beam assist and tac into an infinite? Damn thats news to me.
Edit: Might get some grief for that, so to clarify: The only thing that matters in the quality of mixups is how hard/easy they are to read/escape and what you can do out of them. The effective difference in this case is negligable.
I like how meter build was important for doing good damage/punishing whiffs/priority response(bionic arming through opponents hyper). I have a feeling if the popular tourney players like marlin pie and justin wong learn the infinites, they’ll probably switch over to characters that have advantage hypers like zeros dual image thing, or morrigans illusion. I think magneto is gonna be last in line since his hypers aren’t that great outside of combos (aside from safe DHC and hyper tradeoff).
I seriously miss the days where “broken” meant spamming fireballs as ryu (SF2) or sweeping the cpu in MK3 (because the AI didn’t know how to react appropriately lol). I came into vanilla MVC3 as a dumb child of the fighting game community, enjoying the game for the fast pace long brawls. Now the TOD’s aren’t even pretty looking. I feel bad for people who have the infinite done to them, because man that gets boring to watch quickly. Guess i’ll need to buy SCV so i can play a fighting game where i survive a few hits.
