nothing fancy, just basic reliable combos with my team. Except for the aerial exchange into Doom level 3, that is a little bit fancy.

Tinker’s music is gdlk.

The music was cool. Did he say your name was from a Nicaraguan air force? I can’t get voicemail on PSN otherwise I’d have a blast listening to some of the nonsense I would get from people.

Perfect choice of music Kyle.

… i dunno why… but i could… not… stop… laughing at that video kyle… i dunno why it was so funny man… your commentary voice and elevator music was almost too much

okay so final tally… who wants to do the next T3 before powerup? (that means like 2 weeks to prepare not that hard for a local tourney but we might step on their toes or something… we could combine the MK tourney or something) or after Powerup?.. apparently the purdue players are quite antsy

oh edit: gonna be at tilt today of course til about 5pm

Are you going to be there this afternoon Kyle?

Mario? If so, we need to get some setups going. Last Tuesday it was too crowded.

I was planning on being there, I can bring my xbox and possibly my monitor if you think we need it

I’ll try to swing by after class. Probably 2:30-3 o’clock or so.

I don’t want to play on those shoddy arcade sticks. If there are setups I would play.

Greg- I don’t think a T3 tourney would affect the turnout at PowerUp at all. I say go ahead and have it. I’ll be there.

Bring your monies ppl!!

The TILT Bossman has decreed that all that bring setups shall purchase a TBT card.

One Card per setup. This is what I heard at least. Now, if he means one card per person per setup, lol. I’d be on the lookout for another place to play and fast.

aw sweet… awesome stuff went down today… lets bring some setups next week too and i’ll skip work but i couldn’t stay today… that’s our normal deal thus far…

Tilt wants to start holding Ranbats like once a week… they asked me to survey all the fighters and see what weekday would be common ground for everyone to get in line

ZAPs putting the stream wizard screws on the world… so once he’s done testing we got that

and T3 the 4th is on… post is incoming

I stopped by Tilt today to test the internet connection, I’m planning on streaming the MK9 Tournament…the connection there is ok, but not perfect. Now I know what your thinking…The NTC stream was a mess. I’ve learned a little bit more on the limitations on my rig and I can now stream is SD (Standard Def) not only that but commentary equipment is on the way…having said that…

I was thinking since Ten Dollar Tuesday is slowly getting more popular and they only have one MvC3 set up, we should take advantage of this new hype of Marvel 3 and start having either RanBats every Tuesday / a legit gathering complete w/ a Stream. The reason that I say “Legit” is because Ten Buck Tuesday has the “come if you feel like it” attitude that makes it hit or miss. Sometimes it’s dead, and sometimes you can’t get a game in. If we had a ranbat and multiple setups I think more heads would come, we would all level up, more games would be getting played, Tilt still makes there $10 bucks a person…Everyone wins.

Think of it as a mini T3 every single week…I mean think about it. We have the space AKA “The Theater Room” and all we would need is a few extra set ups and some commitment. We have a great venue and we need to take advantage of it…as long as we support Tilt I don’t see this being a problem.

At this point this is the only way we as a “Scene” are going to get better…we just need a little commitment.

T3: The Genetic Opera

T3: The Genetic Opera

okay so check it out… i had a lot of people asking me to put this together and since this is the 4th iteration it took little to no effort… and i know the name is wierd… but i like Repo! and i was on the spot… so welcome to the 4th T3… the Gentic Opera

Things are gonna get a little expensive this time around… but we also get to expand… like immensly… and this is to be the first of our new line up of Ranbats with this being the inaguaral ranking… so pay attention

When & Where
Saturday April 22nd,2011… Tilt Studios Arcade Downtown NAP… 6:30pm

Games
Super Street Fighter 4 - $10 entry
Marvel vs. Capcom 3 - $10 entry
Street Fighter 3: Third Strike - $10 entry

Fees and or Charges
all participants must pay a $10 venue fee at the front desk, if you’re a member of the Tilt Fight Club then you get a $5 discount… after that any entry fee you pay is for the individual tournament pots

Tournament Structure
All tournaments are full double elimination, and the 1st 2nd and 3rd place players will recieve %70, %20, %10 of the tournament pot as a prize respectively… we’ve got an official system structure so we don’t end up like last time, Super and Marv3l are both to be run on Xbox 360 and 3S is gonna be run on PS2 of course

Rules
SSF4 - 2/3 rounds, 2/3 games, loser can siwtch characters and ultras, winner has to pick the same character but can still switch ultras, no character bans
MvC3 - 2/3 games, team order is locked from character select screen, losing player can switch their team, but the winning player has to keep the same team, no character bans, and we will be playing the Sent nerfed updated version
Third Strike - 2/3 games, 2/3 rounds, loser can switch characters and SAs, winner has to keep the same character and SA, Gill is banned Sean is encouraged… and i’m actually looking to Mario and or Indy to solidify this ruleset

conclusion: we got 3 tournies this time around so the schedule is gonna be tight, we’ll be running Marv3l and SSF4 silmultaneously so be ready for that…
Ray and co. wants to run a MvC2 tourney and i would love that but we need more competitors… and the Tilt staff are all MK lovers (infact the event director is a MK world record legend) so they wanted to see if anyone would be interested… so sound off… if i missed anything here lemme know i gotta repost this in the other indy threads

music choice = /win

i’m gonna see if i can make it to the tourney.

I’ll be sure to make it this time since something came up last time and I couldn’t make it on time. Better put MvC3 back on the PS3. BB:CS casuals anyone?

I’ll be there, we should be able to get a BB setup going as long as we provide it, which should be easy enough

I can bring my PS3, no problem, I just need a screen.

3s rules look fine…the only change is that 3s convention is to allow the winner to change super arts but not character. I can run brackets if needed.

For those interested:

Champaign, IL ranbat 2.8 FINAL is April 16th!

mvc3 and ssf4 10 dollar entry

Where: Humbags Apt. 1006 E Kerr Ave, Apt 106, Urbana IL.

When: show up 4-5pm. Tournys start 7pmish.

Not sure how the casual 3s player feels about $10 3s entry but I like it. I don’t see too many people entering at that amount though but I hope they do. A serious game should be taken seriously, $5 is a side show price at the State Fair.

It has been confirmed that G and I will have “Staff” status at PowerUp 2011 ! Here’s the skinny; G w/ his midwest fighting game community connections (say that five times fast) got Osirun to let us run the Money Match Station at Power Up  Be on the look out on my YouTube page…all high profile Marvel 3 & SSFIV money matches will be captured by me, and we will be commentating on them as well.

If you guys already didn’t know I’ve been working really hard on developing a stream for Nap and the rest of the Indiana fighting game community…I just got the final piece of equipment, Audio Mixer & Mic complete w/ HD Web Cam. Now for all intensive purposes I can produce a SD (Standard Def) Stream w/ commentary. W/ that said the quality of the stream is decent but not Sp00ky level (That will take a new laptop and cap card…I’m working on that) so I’m basically at the mercy of the internet connection that I’m streaming from.

To be honest, Tilt’s Internet connection is ass and currently I’m in no position to host. So if anyone has any thoughts / ideas where we could stream from w/ a great connection or if you want to host, let me know. Until then I will try to stream from Tilt and see what kind of results we get. It’s taken a lot of time, energy and money to get this far…hopefully it will be worth it
