Thats pretty good brent…how did you enter though? I though Indiana wasn’t eligible?
prolly… what did i look like? tall? braids? possibly intoxicated?.. if you answered yes to 2 or more of the inquiries then yes yes I am, who were you?
Brent totally wrecked the online bridge… whooo!.. but nah it turns out we were eligible… i totally said so i think… didn’t matter to me i got no XBL right now
went and talked to Mike at Tilt today… and we got another T3 streamlined at the request of our players… we’re gonna have SSF4 and 3S with a possibility of HDR/ST or a team doubles… hows that sound gang?
Mario and I can run 3s…when is it?
the first saturday in febuary… the 5th i think… still gotta iron everything else out
after digging through more rules again even i’m not certain if i’m supposed to be allowed into this or if i should even be allowed to have an account on the G4G site. Indiana seems to be a state in limbo. it’s unaccounted for on that site. it’s not on the cannot play list, not is it on the list of acceptable states to choose from when making your account. so which is it? well i’m in the process of communicating with G4G and trying to figure all this out.
two things worth noting. Arizona is on the banned state list and Sabre was most certainly in that Evo tourney. also i won’t point out my friend but there is at least one other person from Indiana that i know that is playing for cash on that site and from what i understand he’s doing well.
it’s just all a big mystery at this point. honestly i know this sounds ridiculous but i’m not even certain how my account was created. it would be a long story to explain what i mean. i’m just going with the flow and seeing where things take me for now.
— edit —
ok everything has been resolved. Indiana is officially legit and good to go on G4G. they removed Indiana from the banned state list but forgot to add it to the drop down menu when you enter your address and information. this was just something which had been overlooked and they were unaware until i wrote in and asked.
so yeah, do it Indiana. sign up for Galaxy4Gamers, get in there and compete with the best and win some cash if you are fortunate. SSF4 is a huge deal on that site (along with others like COD or Halo) but they are steadily adding other games. MvC2 is on there. as of today HDR is on there. i can only assume 3S will be on there when that game releases. it’s exciting stuff. it’s like online poker but it’s Street Fighter instead.
tall, braids, not intoxicated though, i was the white rufus player who played against you late sunday over on the couches station
right on, but no… my xbox is fixed but now i dont have XBL… but pm me your GT again since i lost it and when i get back online i’ll hit you up
hate
I love marvel drama lol.
It’s the reason we still play this broken game. :woot: Are you going to play MvC3 with all of us?
not if i keep zapping him with MODOK he won’t
That kicks ass man! I saw you beat Valle in ST at MWC this year, no reason you can’t do it in SSF4! Best of luck to you!
ray you see the mk button setup arcade stick floyd is going to be destroying poeple in mk 9 and the mk collection
I saw it. That MK9 Premium Pack is a great deal. All it needs is an official HAPP stick and buttons. All the new players whining about the button layout are hilarious. You can tell they’ve never played MK in an arcade their whole lives.
I’d bet money on TRAMPY ERMAC to maul anyone in MK9.
I hate how Super is changing before I can even get used to it. That crap makes me angry. Please stop with all the CONSTANT balance changes. How can the meta game evolve if things keep getting shifted around?
Don’t change it unless it’s clearly broken and makes that character/matchup completely unwinnable.
If they had the ability to patch Marvel, no one would want to play it after they got done with it…except all the lil Spidey manz fans…
Why they cater to all the casual “we don’t compete outside our living room” people, I’ll never know.
BB:CS2 announcer is HORRIBAD. It gets worse each update…so do the voices. Arksys, I know you can do better.
lol I love the BBCS2 announcer, it makes me laugh every time I hear it. It’s actually just Taokaka’s voice actor, and you can download it for BBCS on consoles already. Supposedly the other alternative announcer voices will be available for arcade players to unlock when they get enough BP or whatever their system calls it.
Fair enough.
Can you buy the original announcer as DLC? That’s the only one I liked.
The DLC announcers are Taokaka, Jin, and (I think) Carl’s japanese voice actors. I don’t own any of them myself but I have heard the Jin one and it’s pretty goofy.
I don’t know why they don’t get some of the English actors to do it. I would gladly pay for something like Rachel or Arakune.
On a related note, Platinum looks pretty awesome, hopefully it won’t take 6 months for her to be released.
All the Platinum vids I saw resulted in her dying. I like how the vets of other characters (especially that Jin player) would let her get in a few hits, then proceed to beat her down.
So you’re new around here huh? Well don’t think we’re going to go easy on you!
I hope the changes to Rachel are going to help her.
Shadow is the only player that seems to have any idea what to do with Platinum so far, but he has been doing pretty well. Her damage output doesn’t seem huge yet and a lot of players aren’t even using her drives properly (or at all really).
Rachel’s changes definitely improved her a lot, the only real negative change she got was to her midscreen combos, but it seems like Arc System Works was intentionally gimping everyone’s midscreen combos to encourage more attention on screen positioning to get the superior corner combos. The only characters I have seen that could easily do damage midscreen are Tager and Arakune.
So far the balance seems pretty stable, the only potential issue so far is that Arakune can still do huge damage with curse while everyone else’s damage was generally lowered, but he still seems to have the same old bad matchups against zoning characters and fighting him has always been “don’t get cursed.” Hazama has been kicking everyone’s ass too, but I think that has more to do with the quality of the Hazama players and how well they have managed to figure out his new combos and tricks.
@Effenhoog: As always, thanks for the info. I’m starting to wonder if you even see the games you play, or just lines of code. haha
