Indianapolis, IN: We do play games, I promise

I’m sure you guys want to handle the tourney stuff yourself, but if there’s anything I can do to help or promote at some point, let me know.

Dude, Shiken! what’s up man. Can’t wait to see you again.
Also, I would not mind helping with running a tourney.

http://planetofthe8.com/home.cfm Some concert + tourney near downtown. Don’t know what to think of this but I might as well as go since it’s so close. They don’t even have the rules and what systems are used.

Just called teh store my tech is going to look at it in teh morning. thansk for teh heads up

yeah i meant to post this up but kinda spaced… this venue is the emerson theatre… it’s a pretty lowkey concert venue and the tourney itself is gonna be pretty low grade but with what can only be hope for is good street fighter music and the other redeeming fact is that it’s literally down the street from my house… it’s smack dab in the middle of my neighborhood… wouldn’t make any sense not for me to go and attempt to win my rank in my stomping grounds… oh and i read the rules are single elim, 3/5, 4/7 for the finals, and you get to choose what system you play on… $7 tourney entry, and free for spectators and music goers

What if 2 opponents want to play on different systems? I will probably check it out.

If I can get back to Indiana next weekend I might try to make it to this, any of you guys know about the artist performing though?

A little bit. I wouldn’t pay to go to one of their concerts though.

yeah… i haven’t payed to go to the Emerson in like… ever… like i said it’s a gritty lowkey venue but it’ll prolly be fun… the music might be good (i’ve only heard of 8 and Tupacca) but if you’re there for the music it’s free… i’m there to play and to win… entry fee $7… and of course there’s the skirts to be chased which serves its own fun… all in all just hoping for a fun summer evening i can reminisce about sometime later… catch you guys there if you’re there

edit: i wonder why it’s not an 8 dollar tournament?.. weird right? good thing is the whole pot goes to payout to top 3 (65/25/10)… could be a pretty juicy prize if a bunch of hear-says showup

Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All Stars Anyone?

TILT (formerly GameWorks in Circle Centre Mall) can and will install TvC UAS in one of their SANWA cabinets if there is enough interest. I know a lot of people wanted to play this, but they either don’t have a Wii, or just don’t want to play online (it’s beyond horrible online, unless both connections are gdlk)

Do you guys still want to play at all? Of course you know I’m game.

I dunno which thread Flexo and Humbag post in, but hopefully they will see this too. They don’t live near here, but they are still like fam. :woot: Midwest Powerup!!

Anybody going to GW tomorrow? I won’t be at that tourney this weekend because I’m going to New York.

I’ll probably make an appearance sometime. When is everybody else going?

Hey guys, this is the dude throwing the tournament at The Emerson, sorry you didnt see my other 2 threads on here but heres all the info…

@ The Emerson Theater in Indianapolis, IN. The game will be ran on a HUGE projection screen with the sound hooked up to the PA of a large venue that normally holds concerts.

Registration starts at 630pm with the tournament starting at 7pm sharp

Rounds will be 2/3 with the finals being 3/5.

SINGLE elimination so bring your A game.

You WILL be able to choose what system you play on, with a coin flip deciding any conflicting preferences.

BYOS (Bring your own stick)

The entire event is $7 but there is NO ENTRANCE FEE FOR THE TOURNAMENT.

Pot will be split 65/25/10 with the winner also receiving a HUGE Street Fighter Trophy

In between rounds there will also be LIVE Street Fighter themed music from some of the midwests hottest local musicians

You can check out the flyers and video commercial for the event at www.planetofthe8.com

Questions/comments can be posted here, Hope to see you there

and by the way, low grade? i think not.

MvC3 looks pretty cool. i doubt it will be as good for the current competitive players but I think I will have more fun with it.

We need to start playing at TILT. I’m thinking every Tuesday would be good, but weekends maybe too. Will most likely attend this event at the Emerson. The midwest scene has so much potential, lets make it happen!

Oh yes, this needs to happen. I’ve seen Barzaad and Ghetto On the Rise out there on a semi normal basis, but more players would be awesome. I don’t know if they fixed 3S yet, but there is always SSFIV. If the rotation is too slow, we can turn those other cabs into SSFIV too prolly.

Of course the Marvel crew is there, but you guys don’t talk to us…so

With the new Tournament Mode that has come out for SSFIV, how does everyone feel about holding an 360/PS3 tournament via this mode? Just for fun and stuff.

Ignoring the fact that local play is always better than Xbox Live / PSN, I just thought that it might be a cool thing to try out once or twice. Any thoughts?

I wouldn’t mind doing it. Online play has its flaws but its a good alternative when we can’t meet up locally and play. I’d be down.

goodshit on the super cab man we definitely need to rally the locals and get some real social rivalry going… idda played marvel with you guys but i cannot stand up to you 2 at all and you get no objection here… i’m no good at TvC and i don’t play often… but if we had it at a cab that i could get to… i’d learn

… i live down the street dude… looking to win at in anycase this weekend

weekly get togethers could work… i prefer weekends since i work from about 3-12 any given weekday… see you this weekend Justin
