Indy: Ryu/Chun will do just fine. It is a well balanced team, capable of doing massive amounts of damage. The only thing that may be a problem is keepaway/zoning characters and teams.

Let’s plan on running the qualifier at my house, there will just be a new location and we will be limited to 4 setups.
also: there is a good chance that we will be able to have all ages events at the downtown bar in Muncie. Its an awesome venue and it would be free of charge. Even if we rented it for all day some Saturday it would only cost about $50. cause they assume ppl will buy food and drink.

Thinking about MWC…some players like Wong and Marn will have an unfair advantage and some other players on the WC that have been playing SSF4 for over a month. I heard St. Louis already has a copy too.
Paul- The quals will need to be on the 15th. I don’t about this bar, some players may not like that atmosphere especially those that are under 21. What did the manager say?
man paul you got all the good hookups… a bar-top room, and a skatepark would be great venues for tournaments never-the-less qualifying battles, same no doubt goes for you’re pad… in any case rest assured i’ll be there to give my all to make team Indy regardless of where or when we hold it… but we’re aiming for the 15th now?
Yea, it’s gotta be the 15th because the 1st is too early for some and some of will be MWC on the 8th.
the managers said we should be cool. its a majorly chilled bar. midevil themed, no liqour just import beers. boars head on the wall.
but we will e up stairs we wont even have to enter the bar to get up there. the upstairs will have no patrons just us players and i dont know what more I can say. If someone is too intemidated to go to a banquet room above a bar, they should probably take the night off from games to have a talk with there mother.

Are you going to do it at the Heorot? Really? That could be interesting… I went there quite often with friends in college, although admittedly we went for the atmosphere and the ability to play classic Trivial Pursuit… That could be a really cool location if you could get a space to yourself…
Or maybe there’s another themed bar in downtown Muncie I don’t know about… either way…

WE would have the second floor to ourselves. its quite large and the is a stage with a large projection screen that we could put the finals guys on to make them feel special.
Hell theres even lights for theatrical introduction for each player. its gonna be like Japan v. Korea all over again

Damn… at 50.00 to rent out the place… that’s a pretty damn good deal… I’ve got friends of mine in Muncie who never bothered to graduate (yeah… I got my Ph.D. before they got their undergrad from Ball State… my friends depress me sometimes with their laziness…) so I would have a place to stay. If that ends up working out regularly, I might be able to make it like once a month or something. Heck if it worked out, I’d bring my 360 and at least Vega and I can play some mad HDR…
I’m going to build that HDR hype train one match at a time… of course after Super comes out… even I will be trying to master Makoto and Juri… So if that’s what ends up happening put me down for some woodchuck and I’m in.

yeah and thats only if we want to book it for all day daturday. the 50 pays for a door man to make sure no underage ppl make it into the bar. but all other days would be free…

why don’t they have tournaments at medieval times in chicago? now that would be something i’d never miss.
some of the stuff that is surfacing from SSF4 is hilarious. ken comboing U2 out of standing far jab, akuma standing fierce comboing into U2, and the possibility of makoto being able to link standing strong into U1. SF4 needed more hilarious dumb stuff like this. i’m excited.
Plus it supposedly plays faster which should make executing some of those awkward links easier. I hope atleast.
