How many people showed? I been out of action, because of my surgery, but I’m going to the doctor today for a check up on the surgery, and to see if I can drive again. Hope so, because i’m tired of being locked down!
On Friday there were only three of us for a few hours so we were moved into a smaller room and then a bunch of people showed up later and it got pretty cramped

Think I’m gonna have to miss tonight, sadly. But hopefully my dual-mod kit will be here this week and I can have a useable stick for next week (I don’t really like bumming sticks). Does anyone that goes on Mondays bring a 360 setup? I could, but I don’t have a monitor I can bring, so that’s all that’s missing.

I hope that you guys got some great games in last night…sry I missed it, again. On Sunday night I got into a bad pot hole wreck and my car is going to be out of commission for a while, I don’t have the cash to fix it right away. I will be MIA from the sessions for the month of September, I have to save enough money to get the car fixed in time for SB:V.
Third Strike is dropping some time today, I’ll be running a endless lobby on PSN every tuesday evening from 10pm until 1am. I will be getting 3S on both systems, it’s only $15 bucks. If I get enough people on 360 I’ll switch up the endless lobby.
i’ll prolly be by the Arsenal on Friday… I’ll prolly pick up ZAP and Adrian too if all goes well and then we can go back to that bar

I’m stilll on PSN. Hating MvC3, and loving TS.
The thing with the past 4 years is my old roomate and I from college would go to class then just spend hours learning fighters. This is how I learned SF2 and SF4 to a respectable degree. Him and I just resonated well and his strengths were my weaknesses and (vice-versa). Since We graduated I don’t have that and I’m trying to learn this game alone. Online I’ve concluded is a huge waste of time. I don’t feel I learn anything, either I just wreck people or get mauled by shit I’m not familiar with or the rare person with legitimate skill. I’m not an angry player, but I’ve gotten moments form hurling my stick playing online MvC3. It feels beyond foreign, its so chaotic and the moment you flub something you can go take a snack break because you’re gonna be bounced around for a good couple minutes. With SF3 or any slower game losing is different because I can actually interpret what happened. Marvel is like a technacolored gangbang and I was roofied before it all started.
I respect the game, but without someone to learn with I just want to run my fist through my TV when I try and play.

is there a way on 3SOE to do a match with your friends who are online? as opposed to just creating a match and waiting for a random person to be thrown against you. I have not messed around with it much yet, just looked over the stuff briefly last night
Marvel 2 is more complicated so after trying to learn that, Marvel 3 doesn’t seem that difficult. It’s just faster than most games but the actual combos for the most part don’t require difficult juggles or timing. Look at Sentinel and Wolverine combos. That 8 year old kid at EVO wasn’t doing anything that was too difficult. Now if it was refly combos in Marvel 2 and infinites then that is super hard.

How are you gentlemen feeling about 3rd Strike online? I have heard a lot of complaints about the ps3 version and possible input lag even offline, but PS3 has always had some issues in that respect. I’m playing the 360 version and it seems fine, but I haven’t been playing 3rd strike for 5+ years so I might not notice a frame or two of input lag yet
ps3 version plays just fine, so does the 360 version. I prefer 360 but it might be my tv.
I’ve only played it for about 20 minutes, but my scrubby Ryu is playing exactly as it should.

I can respect this. I happen to love Marvel because its really the first fighter Ive put real time into, that Ive wanted to improve. Ive tried my hardest to like SF IV, I bought all three incarnations of it because I truly wanted to like it. But I had no one to level up with, so I got bored. If I had someone to play with, I might be better at it, but when I train for an hour only to go online and get beaten by a Dan, thats depressing. So while Marvel may not be the best fighter ever, I feel I am rewarded in my practice by winning matches, and that encourages me to keep playing. Also, Im still a newbie at fighters so sometimes SF gets too technical for me.
But I also bought Third Strike Online, so maybe Im a masochist.
I don’t plan on getting 3S:OE but I’m glad you guys are enjoying it. Somewhere far away I can hear the frustrated screams of a thousand scrubs as they realize their precious shortcuts and leniency from SF4 series didn’t make it over.
