In regards to the netcode

I found this out the hard way on PS3

Looks like I’ll be waiting until it hits the bargain bin, should be soon.

Done! Enjoy the neg rep!

The hell of it is, it’s pretty damned fun.

Isn’t there a new version - KoF12: Black, coming to arcades soon?

DLC=salavation of the game, a mi.

OK…

For those that don’t know how to look for a connection - it’s the little colored box to the right.

Red = Bad (what you will see most of)
Yellow = OK (still fucked up)
Blue = Good (ain’t seen one of these yet)

There is no Green that I know of, just those 3 colors.

Just wanted to add after not playing the game since this afternoon due to frustration, I just jumped online and played some yellow bar matches. Maybe I was lucky and the guy lives next door to me, but it was nearly completely lagless and a TON of fun. My Kyo tore it up.

So if you find a decent connection, the game is great, and hopfully with the patch it will be pretty playable.

If the netcode was alright, I’d be doing this all day.

I hope you friend requested the individual you were playing.

…so fucking disappointing…i played for about 3 hours today, only saw maybe 2 (tops) yellow connections and they both were laggy as hell. other thoughts:

  1. The inability to leave a match that you’re watching without signing out sucks
  2. You can only see connections of people once you’re IN a room, so if all the connections blow, then have to back out, which takes you all the way back to the Quick / Custom / Host menu. Why wouldnt it just bump you back to the list of rooms refreshed???
  3. The manual doesnt have any characters or command moves in it, other than basic ones which are listed as the actual buttons on the controller, not ABCD like in arcade.

blah. this game is stupid fun to play at the arcade, and i’d really like to enjoy it online now, but thats not gonna happen. back to SF4 i guess…

I played a players match on the ps3 one,4ppl in the lobby. I had little lag at all, about med grade compared to SF4 I would say. I also installed the game on my ps3. Overall for the game just coming out,its not terrible.

There’s a patch on tuesday. hold off passing judgement till then.

Oh shiznit, all your tips were useful. Thnx! :wgrin:

Luckly I won’t be able to pick up the game right away. I would honestly expect to give a day or two after release date to get their shit together. Again, Blazblue was also trash from what I heard the first day so might as well give it sometime. But if it’s still horrible after say a week, then there’s probably no chance I’ll pick this game up. Which sucks too because I was really looking forward to this game since XI was really fun. Just gotta wait and see, luckly MvC2 will be there to hold me off, and Tekken 6 is just around the corner.

so far i am very dissapointed

This thread is sad. People are so hooked on this online shit you know they will fix it… enjoy the damn game

Yeah man, it’s making me sad and happy at the same time. It’s depressing.

Just look how much amazing options in the lobby, chats, stats, clans. Jesus Christ, this is what online fighting game features should have. Something that BB and SF4 lacked.

But the thing that BB and SF4 got right is the netcode. (SF4 is not that bad/ it’s average…)

I feel you bro. When I saw that clan options along with bad netcode I cried

but it cant stop me from hardcore practice and calling peeps in my area to meet up and have a session goin ;D

Yeah it’ll be a shame if the patch doesn’t make it better because the lobbies and interface are great. I also dig the music lol.

I actually had some REALLY good matches last night, very fast paced; almost ALMOST no input lag; though I already adjusted to it, couldn’t do some of my Kyo combos, but other than that, it was okay.

Someone mentioned the lacking move list in the book, I 100% agree with that shit; what’s with this guessing game on people’s desperation attacks and shit? I thought I was getting a 2k2 style Kyo too :(. (And Leona and Athena!) But oh well, I’m loving Crit Counter.

if the patch makes it playable online, its party time then. i seriously love the game, been playing it in the arcade a few months now and i really dig the system.
