In darkness, a hero returns. The Castlevania Netflix series

@fishjie did Grant make you pee your panties the first time you saw him?

Stop encouraging Affinity

Also Trevor is not emo, he just didnā€™t want to be bothered. He just want to drown his sorrows in alcohol like a proper man would

darksul I swear if affinity starts pming me about some new revolutionary cellphone game or whatever that is your ass bro.

I loved the show. Itā€™s amazing to me that WArren Ellis+Netflix could do such a great job on Castlevania when it seems apparent that Konami doesnā€™t give a shit anymore. I thought everything was well done, and they had a lot of ground to cover in a mere 4 episodes and did it well. Dracula is one of my favorite characters in the show and I like that heā€™s presented as a tragic villain which is kind of how he is in Coppolaā€™s movie, but not always so much in the CV series other than Lords Of Shadow (which, the 1st game is fantastic and is totally Castlevania, the people saying itā€™s not probably didnā€™t play the 64 games and are objectively wrong, but thatā€™s a whole other thread.) It gives his character a lot of dimension rather than him just being straight up evil for no reason.

As for character selection, Grant was actually the character I used most in CV3 other than Trevor, but I agree that heā€™s probably the most expendable character of the cast of that game. I always thought he was a thief though, not a pirate. Maybe he got caught poking around Draculaā€™s castle and thatā€™s why he got turned into a monster? Either way, it would be cool to see him in there, but if he isnā€™t, I donā€™t think much will be lost. Although in his CV3 ending he becomes a leader of the people against the hordes of Dracula, so maybe he will show.

Either way, the first 4 episodes were great and I canā€™t wait to see what Ellis/Netflix (who Iā€™m really happy is taking this project on!) have for season 2.

yeah i remember buying castlevania 3 in middle school for a few bucks, getting home and playing non stop. getting grant finally after many tears and sweat yeah it was sexcellent. how you gonna base a series on castlevania III and not have one of the BADDEST characters? dumb dumb dumb. still i give it a 7/10. its no db super thats for sure

Castlevania Judgment is shit and the worse shit in the entire series (well ok maybe the LoS games are worse because they tried to reboot and shit on the original lore, mercury steam are money leeching opportunist trash),
it ruined the character designs of a lot of legendary characters.

even Shanoaā€™s artist (Masaki Hirooka) HATES the artist of Castlevania Judgment (Takeshi Obata), and that piece of shit bastard knew Masaki and made Shanoa look worse on purpose.
they literally have personal hate between each other.

so it doesnt matter who was in that game, that game was one of the worst games ever with the most trolling character designs to make the fans upset.
it was an even bigger insult than DmC overall. Obata was like Konamiā€™s pet troll that sabotaged CVJā€™s character designs on purpose. Konami can troll harder than even Capcom.

Who are you and what you did with the real affinity.

My only real issue with the show was Trevor didnā€™t seem to care about what was going on, despite the fact that the Belmonts had sworn to fight Dracula and creatures of the night. It seemed strange that he didnā€™t really give a shit until later. Maybe they decided not to include the canon of Lament of Innocence, but even that is strange since it seems like they want to stick fairly close to the canon of the series. I know even Iga had a hand in the script as the series developed over the years, but how much influence he had, I donā€™t know.

Either way, I enjoyed the series. Hype for season two!

It seemed clear to me that Trevor took the excommunication of his family hard and the way the people treat him had him throwng his hands up and saying ā€œfuck it. Yaā€™lls problem now.ā€ Hence the lack of caring in the beginning. He didnā€™t start to care until there where people involved for him to care about, the Seekers who continue to care till the bitter end.

Yeah I get that. It was just strange to me to go that route in the first place.

Channeling her inner Po Pimpus, spirit animal is The Joker.

LOLOL

Warren Ellis.

Heā€™s quite critical of government and authority in his works and in this case, that authority is the Church.

This also has the secondary effect of giving Trevor a more personal character arc.

What they need to do is make up their fucking minds. Episode 1 and 2 were a drag. Episode 3 was alright and 4 was the only one I can say I truly enjoyed. Clearly they can animate, clearly theyā€™re not good at pacing nor making a very good story either. I wish they would just speed that shit up and give us 4 episodes or near non-stop flight scenes like Trevor vs alucard.

Also fuck the speakers and their B class voice acting of forced spanish accents. I cringed every time they said anything.

I wanna see them fight classic enemies and bosses while metal remixes of classic themes play.

If your looking for dumb action than the show ainā€™t for you. Ellis wonā€™t provide you with what you want.

Iā€™d rather have dumb, good looking action than a slow, mediocre story with abysmal voice acting and a sprinkle of good action.

Show was originally written as a direct to DVD movie. Everything makes more sense when you watch it as one whole thing instead of multiple episodes.

Jeez asking for a stupid non-stop action peice is dumb as fuck.

Updates on Season 2 of Netflixā€™s Animated Castlevania Series

Basically, nothing is confirmed except that there will be twice as many episodes as season 1.
