In darkness, a hero returns. The Castlevania Netflix series

Someone online stated that one of the white haired generals maybe Hector from the second PS2 game. It would be hilarious if they did add him in and left Grant out until season 3 or whenever they wrap up this story arc.

Because let’s be honest Grant unlike the other characters from CV3 has gotten worst with age when expanded upon.

Finally watching Season 1…I don’t do gore/horror anime, doubly so if kids & infants are getting gruesomely murdered!!

But the is series dope and this is the best rendition of Dracula that I have seen!!

I know Dracula is in the wrong and should have gone the route his son suggested by just going after the punk ass Bishop!!

But Wallachia…hosting a celebration of his wife’s murder a year after Drac, fucking tells you to haul fucking ass!!

Boy, I hope that corrupt Bishop gets his!!
At least, the old lady & her family got the fuck out of dodge!!

Season two dropped today. I watched episode one and I’m happy to see Hector and Issac from Curse of Darkness are apart of Dracula’s army. They maintained their roles as devil forgers as well. Loving it so far on faithfulness alone.

Just got done watching Season 2, if you haven’t started to watch the new season, what are you waiting for?

Castlevania season 2 was pretty darn great. The build-up in the first 4 episodes was a fucking crawl narratively but the voice-acting was top notch, especially Peter Stormare as Godbrand. The last 4 episodes pick up in pace and the final battle in the castle was GDLK imo. There’s stuff to nitpick like the slow plotting and some characterization concerns but I’m satisfied with the season overall; dialogue was great and the animation seems to have improved from the first season.

They took their time building up yes, but I didnt feel like they were just sitting there.
At no point was I bored or felt it was slow.

Episode 7 was my favorite episode of the season

Bloody Tears playing when the group storms the castle is fucking great. Best moment of the show for me

I felt the parts with the heroes dragged quite a bit. I get going to the Belmont estate to prepare but what they ended up getting out of it didn’t justify them staying there all that time.

I concur. I got chills up my spine as I was watching the whole scene unfold AND then the orchestra version plays over the fighting. Damn, that scene alone was so epic.

Let’s agree to disagree on this one as knowing how Warren Ellis writes, he does really well with dialogue and characterization but the pacing was absurdly slow even for me. Kinda like Tarly taking 2 full seasons in the Citadel for his research while almost everyone gets rekt lol

They did get their weapons and means to get to the castle.

Taking a break from RD2, to see Dracula continue pwning Wachia!!

Most of the time, it only feels like they’re going back to the heroes because they remembered that they were still part of the plot. This season is definitely better off when it’s focusing on Dracula’s court and getting all Game of Thronesy with all the political machinations.

P.S. Peter Stormare is a fucking gift!

That Bloody Tears scene tho.

Only real complaint about this season is how it starts out slow then BAM it picks up fast out of no where when it gets to the climatic episodes. A lot of it is just build up for season 3. Although granted due to the way that this series has been produced so far I believe that it’s unfair to compare S2 to S1 when they are obviously meant to be one and the same when it comes to their story arc. Seeing as how S1 is only the first four episodes and whatnot.

Thoroughly impressed with this series, voice actin is superb. Last two episodes hit me in the feels. Felt (even more) sad for Dracula by the end of it)

Not that big of a feat when every adaptation has been the drizzling shit. Kudos none-the-less though.

Idk, I still put Gungrave anime as best adaption. But CV was still fantastic tho

I’m hoping this puts other people who are planning to do VG adaptations on notice that they need to take the source material seriously. Hoping that this starts the wave that worked out for comic book movies.

There is the rumor about the Castlevania guys developing a Zelda animated series for Netflix.
