Improvements or changes you would like to see in SFV

If they scored a Double KO, then they colluded. It’s staged. So both should lose a round for disqualification.

I didn’t want to scroll through all 43 pages so it’s probably mentioned already, but:

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 kind of style where you can see character’s alternative costumes in character select screen rather than SFIV style where you need to memorize all the costumes and colours via cryptic “Alternative costume 4” and “Colour 15”

And again, at least 1 alternate costume per character for free.

How can be that games like Tekken, Bloody Roar, KOF MI, all of them include an extra costume for default, and Street Fighter they just can’t…?

I’d like to be able to change the color(s) of the health meter. Especially if Capcom is going to go crazy with warm colors again for some stages.

I’d much rather have to play another round (even if online) to settle an issue like dko’s.

On the subject of mechanics, I did hear someone say that they like the game as it is now but they want another layer. I’m not sure what that layer would be as of right now but I did have a suggestion for the V mechanic which I stated in the wishlist topic but it fits better here.

So every character has a V Skill, V Reversal and V Trigger. What I want to see is meter burning for specifically for the V Skills. I say this to add another aspect to the already amazing mechanic they added to change up the characters.

So for example:

Ryu - His V Skill is his 3rd Strike parry. So basically if he parries a move, he has a chance to punish the opponent if he recovers fast enough.

For the EX, he would be able to do an energy burst to break the opponents move. So for example, if Cammy throws out an EX Drill, this would basically allow you to break that move on the first hit instead of having to deal with each and every hit.

She could be stunned giving him a free combo to work off of. Depending on the meter used, he could probably combo to get his meter back so he can go into ultra.

Ken - His V Skill is his run which can be cancelled with step kick. This allows him to keep up pressure easily but the only issue is Step kick doesn’t special cancel to my knowledge so he can’t combo off of it in the first place and on that note it knocks down in this game.

The EX version could do like a flash step forward which covers more distance. On that note, on the first hit of the combo it could give a crumple that he could follow up on. To make it better it could also frame trap on block but that’s not mandatory. It just helps his focus.

Birdie - The donut could give more V Meter back.

Bison - This one is tough because he already can throw back absorbed attacks as a 2x fireball. So here’s some options.

  1. Make his reflect with out meter throw back a 1x fireball instead and then he can burn meter for the two hit (or 3 just to make it unbeatable)
  2. Allow him to use the energy to burst and push for opponent away.
  3. Let him respond with an instant Psycho Crusher which will force him to be at least mid range to take advantage of the EX.

Cammy, Nash and Chun - I’m leaving them up to players that actually like these characters. I don’t have any inspiration for them.

That’s basically it for the shown characters.

In the case of my characters, I voted for Juri to receive her Kasatuschi (Parry) as her V skill with the EX version being treated as Omega. Even if she isn’t hit she can do the movement. Personally I don’t see a problem with her being able to do it backwards in this case since she will be burning meter but it’s not in my hands.

Akuma is my second main and in his case I would like to see a stance for his V Skill. The stance would look like the start up to his teleport. The teleport will be an option off of the stance but he’ll also be able to do his demon flip off of it. Since the distance is based off of button pressed punches would select the movement.

So his options would be.

Stance Punch(es) - Palm strike would be the attack. Hit effect is a light hit stun with large push back so he ends up having to chase his opponent. EX Stance will make it normal and special cancellable but not enough to link anything. simply a mixup.

Stance Kick(s) - Demon Flip. Doing all the same options as before. Change in animation for demon flip punch to an aerial double handed smash attack. Button pressed decides distance for the flip

Teleport - Inputs are the same. EX stance allows him to cancel into Slash.

Of course with Akuma and Juri this is theory building assuming they make it into the game and there’s so much opportunity overall.

I’ll post the rest of my thoughts on Akuma/Oni’s character.

If Akuma made it into the game, I think it would be cool if he didn’t have access to V-trigger, V-Reversal, V-Skills, and possibly no EX moves if he could have multiple supers like 3S. Things that would make sense would be Akuma’s 3S SA1 and Demon, 2 supers would be fine; 3 seems over kill I think.

That’s nice and all, but I think I would rather this EX V-skill would be a red parry. While you gained meter for doing a red parry in 3S, I would’ve spent meter to do it if I had to. Parries are great, but red parries are the safest and most consistent parries to do, even if the timing was infinitely tighter than a regular parry. It would also further cement Ryu as being more of a hard punish character, as you would have to be wise to always mix up your block strings against him, or risk getting parried.

And do I definitely agree, that this game needs just another layer on it. Perhaps something very small. I’m hoping we’ll see whatever it is in future builds.

On the topic of taunts, have they mentioned anything about command actions? Like the rose, or Cody’s fake rock throw. Maybe taunts will just be taunts but they may introduce some form of command personal actions?

Dudley’s rose toss will be his V-Skill (if he makes it into the game).

That seems pretty underwhelming for a V-Skill unless you give that shit mad sharp thorns.

Give it directional control like Birdie’s food/trash.

As dope as that would be the Duck seems to be a better candidate in the list of “Dudley V-Skills”

I had a dream Dudley makes it in, I’d be annoyed as shit if he could zone me out with some tracking rose. That’d be better than sonic boom.

Damn your life must be dull to have dreams like that.

Serious though, taking into account it’s start-up and the damage/hitstun it deals it would be fairly shitty. And I do think we’ll be seeing Dudley, and if not him a completely new Boxer character - I think they’ve become a staple archetype in the series now, quite like Muay Thai and Shotokan characters.

I’m at evo. Might go try out 5 later. Just gonna mess with Chun if I go. Gonna play super serious like it’s evo grand finals.

I won the 3s Hooters side tourney btw. You may now officially consider me the 3s knowledgebase of the universe.

Try it out dude, see if you can find anything that makes he scary. And test Ken out a little for a brother too.

Congrats on your induction into the Hooter’s 3S hall of fame

thats probably going to be Blanka. Wont necessarily be a bad thing per se if they significantly change him like some of the other characters.

I have hundreds of dreams a night of varying importance. And you’re also posting on a forum, so don’t even act like you’ve got the high life.

…that’s cool, dude.

Anyways, about in-game currency and how it’s going to work. I think this may open up avenues for mass amounts of customization - Capcom have seemingly been highlighting the fact that you can really make your characters personality shine through with the use of V-Skills and such, so why not cosmetically as well? As much as I hate the F2P models of shit like that, I do like having options when it comes to alternate costumes. For instance a lot of the characters I play only have one decent alternate or none at all. More options for shit is something I’d like.

Not to mention that the in-game currency is called “Fight money” bravo Capcom, bravo.

I mean I’m not a real Ryu player but not to say that a red parry wouldn’t be a good idea, what are the benefits to doing one? What’s to stop him from doing it now or receiving the red parry property without meter?

I think the reward works better as the burst. That’s my opinion though. I’ll leave it on the table for now.

Well it’s not a bad idea at all.

That does add another dynamic to the game where not everyone is stuck with a set play style built around the V system.

Still, I do like the dream of having Akuma transform into Oni when put under pressure.

Just to drop the idea into understanding.

V Skill - Stance that cancels into a low frame advantage palm strike that may or may not charge his V Meter. I like the idea of it not charging it because it forces him to not be able to use the extra moves and properties of Oni until he’s getting his ass whooped.

The stance can also cancel into his movement specials which can be done raw (demon flip and teleport). EX only effects his palm strike which allows it to be cancelled into some other normals and specials granted they’re fast enough.

V Trigger - Transforms into Oni and receives some new command normals like step kick. His specials should receive changes as well and assuming we will have CA1, CA2, and CA double.

On that subject, I never saw a reason why there shouldn’t be multiple supers (Critical Arts) in the game. At the least 2 with all reasonable balances between each other.

So example for Akuma he could have a demon and a hadoken styled ultra is a grab and can be executed in the air (In Oni mode only) to finish combos and the hadoken can finish combos as well but does less damage and moves relatively slow so it can be used for set ups.

That’s not to say its what I want though. I really do want to see another super besides those for him.

On that note can I get these swag juggles for Omega Dudley please.
