Could someone help out here? I’m trying to find the easiest way to import those ps2 savegames from gamefaqs. I use swap magic for imports and was wondering if there way to burn a cd or dvd with the savegame on it and boot it up with swap magic to upload the savegame.
Or do I need to break down and get one of those gameshark or codebreaker devices??
Yes, you will need one of those devices. I recommend the Action Replay Max, cost me around $40. Need to be careful though, sometimes they can corrupt all the info on the memory card.
If you have a USB drive, you can do the save transferring for free since you have a swap magic. Here’s what you need along with the save file from Gamefaqs and the pendrive:
[]A burned uLaunchELF CD (search for SKSApps on Google, it should be in their PS2/Launchers section)
[]PS2 Save Builder 08x (Same site, Misc section)
After you get those programs…
[]Use PS2 Save Builder to open up the save you downloaded.
[]Create a folder using the same name that shows up as the Root/ID.
[]Highlight all the files, right click, and extract all of them to the folder you just created.
[]Put the folder into your pendrive and insert it into your PS2.
[]Use the Swap Magic to run the uLaunchELF CD.
[]Use uLaunchELF’s filebrowser to navigate to your mass:/ drive (USB drive) and copy the folder you just put in (R1 to show the menu with the copy option, I believe).

Paste the contents (R1 again) into your mc0:/ folder (for memory card slot 1, mc0:/ for slot 2).
Sounds like a bunch of steps, but it’s easy after you do it the 1st time.
