why would srk reserve only 32 rooms? i dont understand why the hotel WOULDNT want more business. 500 people coming down, i thought 100 rooms would be decent but i guess not. im glad i booked 2 weeks ago.
While i don’t know anything about the contracts or evo’s or RR’s positions… here’s an intresting story anyway:
About a month ago i called about ufc information (ufc is at the red rock on … wait for it… thursday the 17th!), redrock said they had no information on rooms and tickets cause ufc hadn’t sent it to them yet. I thought it was weird to lag like that, but didn’t think anything of it at the time.
Then in the past week, 1) ufc tickets go on sale, 2) mysteriously there are no rooms for that thursday, and 3) suddenly the evo rate disappears and we have 32 rooms

well this is really shitty. =( if we cant get rooms, where are the next best places to go that are very close by?
they said that suncoast is the closest hotel to them.

Yeah, SunCoast is your next best bet. There is also a motel called La Quinta Inn and Suites, not too far from Red Rock. Theres also a Hampton Inn right next to La Quinta. So that’s probably cheaper than the rates over at RR. Hope that helps you guys who got screwed, or just looking for some thing cheaper.
OMFG I am so pissed right now, I just bought plane tickets and also registered for Evo and EXPECTED I would get rooms for the hotel because the Evo2k site said I would get the special rate as long as I book it before August 1st, so I would expect that there would still be room right now since its only the 24th. I guess its my fault that I didn’t check this thread before I bought everything? I wouldn’t have even went if there wasn’t the special rate and splitting with people god dammit. Now wtf am I gonna do, I want to stay at the same hotel to make everythign alot easier and save transportation money since this hotel is like in a deserted area.
EVO STAFFS PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. I’m not the ONLY one who’s screwed this way, I know at least 8 of my other friends are having the same problem.
i called today and booked another room with no trouble with evo2k discount, then i cancelled it cause i was just testing what they would say. i talked to a guy

i called and asked about that as well. the guy said only 32 rooms have been booked using the evo code and they have 64 or 68 left or something
For those that were considering bringing a laptop, Red Rock’s wifi service is $12.99 for a 24-hour usage period. There should also be free wifi in the Evo area.
So what does that mean? You booked under the Evo 2k discount or did you just book without the discount?
I called about 2 weeks and was only able to get Friday-MOnday. I still need thursday damnit!!! We’ll see what happens…

I just booked with the discount today at 5pm Monday. Checking in on friday and leaving monday. Not sure about the Thursday problem. I might have to add on thursday later once i figured out my transportation choice.
There is still a Thursday problem, seems like only a handful of people at random times are getting the Thursday discount, everybody else is being denied.
Even Evo staff can’t get this to work…
This is fucked up, tourney hasn’t even started and already I want to shit all over the Red Rock.
I just got paid this last weekend,so I called them up today to reserve the room and got the same crap.
Plus I asked MrWiz on the fact if they are going to do the same thing green valley ranch pulled on us last year of the desposit for EVERY night we stay there. (139+139 for desposit)!! he said RR will be the same as GVR. Hopefully I read this wrong and the only other extra is the resort fee.
that is too much money to spend on a hotel (IMO) I completely understand suporting EVO and I have no prob helping my freinds pay for the hotel night,just not that huge extra desposit fee.

If you call and are told that rooms are sold out, you may want to call back to ask another representative, just to double-check. I have sometimes talked to different representatives back to back and been told by one that rooms Thu - Sat are completely sold out, Evolution 2K package or not, while the other allows me to book. In particular, a rep named “Dredda” (not sure spelling) has repeatedly told me that rooms are not available, when they have been.
As of five minutes ago, I was told the only night I could still book with a discount was Sunday. I called right back and was told Fri-Mon was still available. Who knows anymore.
Here is the Red Rock status as of Wednesday, 7/26. If a representative tells you different, try calling back later to double check.
