Many of the pictures from IC2 are up at GameBlurg now http://www.gameblurg.com/2008/10/impact-clash-2-live/ I speak for all of the GameBlurg crew when I say we really look forward to getting to know more of the fighting game community considering the fact that one of our blog’s goals is to help show the rest of the world Georgia’s gaming community (seeing as we came from the Smash community, and only know them on a personal level, which explains some of the “picture-favor”). Sorry that the tourney format still has kinks in it, but in due time, it’ll improve as Magnicious and his crew now have time to tackle every problem (from feeding people to stolen equipment). Leaving early to take care of some other obligations really deflated me, seeing as we were having a good time watching the tourneys progress, but we thought it would end a bit earlier this time. Thanks Mag for letting us run around taking pictures of you all, hope those of you who visit enjoy the site, and see you all around, hopefully before IC3 (Jan. is stupid far away)

hahaha. Its no big deal. I’m looking forward to whenever we get the meeting together to discuss the next one. It was cool working with all you guys for the day(Ice, Mag, Xero,etc.). Next time will be a lot better. I have a ton of ideas for next time, just waiting to share them with the crew.

Community Apologies:
I would first like to apologize to the “SMASH” Community in general (That means both Brawl and Melee Players) personally.

I was not an original staff member for the Impact Clash Tournament, just a consultant up until a few weeks ago.

You all are correct it was NOT your fault that the venue had limited outlets for us to plug up T.V.'s here and there, It is also NOT your fault that 6 total T.V.'s were not enough for you all to handle your tournaments in a timely fashion.

“BUT” please try to understand my and the other organizers position, we did not know the venue was limited on the outlets until we got there, Only Magnicious the “Original” organizer was allowed entry to the spot before the tournament and even that fell through, We also did not know that they would charge $85 bucks for the use of extension cords (yes we are NOT allowed to bring or use our own extension cords, we have to use the venues) so we had to make do with what we had, we thought by giving you all 6 T.V.'s it would get Brawl moving along, then Melee, then the other bigger tournaments would follow.

I really do not want the SMASH community to feel un-wanted or left out, the staff that was on hand respects your want to be apart of something bigger, and your interest in this game, the next Impact Clash Tournament will be handled by more “EXPERIENCED” individuals, A different + larger venue, and if you all are still interested in expanding your community, we will do our best to accommodate your community as best as we can.

I was very glad and hyped for the turn out though, I haven’t ran my own tournament in a long while and it felt weird at first.

I gotta give a HUGE thanks to my homies and Impact Players 1st Lordjas, he didn’t come down here officially to help out, he took time off from work, his own vacation days and ended up helping us run the tournament.
Good games at the Impact Players DoJo as well dog, Magnicious has the tape so soon as I gather the footage I can edit ti for you and post them up on my blog etc.

anyway overall, good tournament. it was nice to see all of you again: raph,kajoq,marty,evan,gunslinger,axl kid, xif, ice and the rest of the impact players, jason and shinblanka. met some new ppl like DJ ramsey, flash, hunter, and lord jas.

yea brawl/melee was LLLLOOOOOOOOONNGGGGGG. i got there late(bout 3pm), and it wasnt even close to being done. marvel starting at 10PM was like wtf??? but like ice and xero said on the GA thread, we gotta learn from our mistakes. for the looks of it, Impact Clash is growing WAAYYY faster than wat mag or anybody anticipated. this is good tho. we just gotta organize better and have a good size staff setup. we definitely need to adopt some of FR’s rules and procedures( like you have 5 minutes to show up for yo match or you get DQ’ed). upside to all this is dat ppl are willing to come out and support our scene and tournaments. look at how many out of state ppl showed this time around.

at least I made into the top 5 for KOF XI so that will improve b4 the next rolls around. Man it was soooo much fun being around new friends and rejoing old ones. BTW Breeze i was playing with Sig instead of Nightmare, i wasn’t used to playing against Killa6 Hilda style so i got owned for that one. Don’t worry Sig is undergoing training and so is Raphel, beware my old character Nightmare is returning from his grave and will appear at the next one.:woot:

Raph man, our match was too ill in 3S. Damn I was supposed to win that! I pulled a JWong vs Daigo and didn’t make you block before the EX fireballs lol. Oh well that’s how the cookie crumbles. I wish that match was caught on tape, easily one of the best 3S matches of the day! I guess Ken is better against Dudley than Chun, so I’ll definitely just run him against Dudley now.

Man, oh man. Where to begin?

First of all, a big thanks to EVERYONE that helped make this tournament possible. Mag, thanks for throwing such a good tourney. It wasn’t perfect, but all you can do now is take the experience you have now and improve upon it in the future. Impact can only improve and go up, so keep at it. I’m not sure if the food idea will hold out in the future, so you might need to consider that in the future.

Ice, past all the drama or whatever, I give you my heartfelt thanks for putting your effort into making this tournament possible and as smooth as you possibly could. You and your group did the best you guys could with what you had, and I appreciate that.

LARRY (:smile:), I know I’m not the only one who has the utmost thanks for you coming out to show support for another GA tournament outside of Final Round. Your attendance is a huge help for people looking at Impact from the outside.

Lord Jas, Lil EZ, even that dad-figure (not sure who he is) all contributed immensely to the event and made it an enjoyable experience, regardless of any speed bumps anyone had. If I left anyone out, my most sincere apologies. I know there were also countless people who lent a helping hand here and there, all making up the larger foundation for the occasion.
