Impact Clash 3 Atlanta, GA Tourney Jan 24 & 25 Perfect Sin presents Street Fighter IV

I totally understand. No need to have too many games at one venue. Yeah, I’ll definitely see if anyone want to organize a SFA2 side tourney. If Dogface can do it for XvSF at Evo, then I can do it for SFA2 and Impact

Then practice up sweetheart. I played that game back in crowded arcades back in 1996 at the old Gamewarp arcade. Haven’t played SINCE then, so it may be an even playing field at this point. I’ll keep you posted if I can make it. If I can, then do you want to do a FT7 for fun. Also what platform do you play on? Mame? I have two laptops. But that’s all IF I come.

On a side note:

I am not going to be like last time and schedule money matches, when I’m not so sure I can follow through with them. Things should be better this go around. However, I have about a $300 limit. If anyone want to MM me just let me know.

My number is 4049662859.

Hope to take all of you guys money.

I really, really wanted a tournament in this game and it was actually featured at Impact Clash I and no one signed up. That would be a super quick tournament to run if we had it. I’d love to run it honestly.

Well Branh, seeing as how we’ve NEVER money matched out of two tournament attempts, why not try to make the third time the one where we will actually be able to play

Mahvel, FT5 or FT7, I leave it to you. Let me know. Thanks in advance.

Sounds fun. I play on the 360, on my girlfriend’s HRAP EX. I’ll play you if you show up, sure.

I’d love to play it at Impact Clash. Maybe at IC4?

Well do you have a copy of the Playstation 2 version? It was actually included on the Collector’s edition of Mortal Kombat Armageddon. My copy was stolen at Impact Clash 1 by someone unfortunately. :frowning:

The PS2 version of UMK3 is fucking atrocious. It’s like playing Marvel on the Xbox or ST on the Game Boy Advance. Play UMK3 on the 360, MAME, or not at all.

What’s the update on the pre-registration list.

What happened in the last tournament that everyone keeps on talking about.

John- Give me some answers please. I may come to this but i need to be sure it’s worth coming to .

Poor organization, lack of prep/planning. Marvel didn’t even finish and 90% of tv’s were for smash all day. They seemed to have learned from their mistakes though. I was there for part of it.

As far as the lack of prep/planning and poor organization goes, this all was because the Smash community as a whole did not pre-register in a proper fashion. Which (at the day of) threw the numbers way off. The first Impact Clash had about 60 some people total. So, the next one was designed for no more than about 70-80 people. This past one had well over 100+ some people; something that caught me way off guard. Smash Brawl had as much participants as Impact Clash 1 did total attendees. The Smash community had most of the resources at the tournament (TVs) and it put other tournaments at a crawl. Couple that with the catering food being demolished by everyone as soon as it came in in the most chaotic fashion possible and a few tournaments not finishing and well yeah, a horrific result.

The difference being here at SRK is we know how to pre-register. You post your name, where you are from, and what games you are coming for. The smash community did not do this and so on the day of the tournament I’m thinking we are going to have about 60-70 people and now we’ve got over 100+ people. A difficult situation to say the least but I had two options, tell them they couldn’t participate, or let them in and try to make it work.

But there’s a remedy to all of this. Last time the tournament was only one day and it was hard stopped at 12 a.m. This time around the tournament is two days and day one has no real hard stop since the room is rented for the entire night so we can have extra time to stay in the room as long as we want. That and well the room will be opened all night for money match, casuals, and if needed more time to finish the tournaments, etc. That and the room is about three times the size of the last room. And I’ve got more staff and more catering food this time around. So we shouldn’t have the problems like last time, especially since it’s spread over two days.

Just keep in mind at many tournaments they run over their allotted time for finishing a tournament. The only thing is how flexible your venue is in allowing you extra time to finish your tournament(s).

Seems that way. Running tournaments is a learning experience. Trust me i understand:wgrin:. What’s up with the pre-registration list though?

Yeah, the second post on this thread is the updated pre-registration post which is updated by RisunoMeijin. Secondly, yes you are right, running tournaments is a learning experience. I just know that I will never run a tournament again at a non-flexible venue like the World Congress Center was.

funny alot of people ten to forget the smash community brang most of the equipment.
just sayin regardless ic3 will be bigger and better just my 2 cent

Yes, you are right. Smash bought quite a bit of equipment for the tournament. I’m not taking any direct shots or anything at them. It’s just it’s much easier when people pre-register in a proper fashion instead of just talking in a thread for pages and pages without any clue on who is coming or if they are coming.

Um. Im game? Marvel right? Ill run a Ft7 for 50…high tier, low tier, or hybrid?

BRanH ill mm u in mvc2 or anything ft whatever for whatever.

awesome, i support that. i will be getting this game myself when it is released. i will probably be getting it for ps3,not 100% sure yet. i also volunteer to bring it in for tournament play. I will let you know when i get it and for wat system.

Branh,

wat up man, how u been? we didnt get to do our 3s mm at dat last IC.
care to run it at the next IC? wat was it? FT7 for $20?

Get hype!

The full pre-reg list; ill keep it updated on the front page as well for newcomers to the thread.

I shouldn’t be on any of those pre-reg lists yet. I might enter ST if I like HD Remix.

I know I posted earlier but I would like to change what I’m entering. I would like to be added to the SSBB & Street Fighter 2 Super Turbo. I’m totally hyped about the HD remix. I would also liked to be dropped from SC4 for the moment. I might change my mind later on down the line. I’ll also be doing team Smash and MvC2 with Mike Walker.

Magnicious - I can bring a TV, xbox 360 w/ SSF2HDR and hopefully should be bringing a Dreamcast w/MvC2. Also if needed I can bring a PS2 and a copy of Street Fighter Anniversary Collection (xbox) Could you PM me about any brackets that need to be ran? I would like in on doing that.
