Why? I haven’t heard about the PS3 classic version being any different. Is it?
Ive never been to a tournament before but Im really interested in this event being my first one it helps that I live in ATL. I wanna play in the Arcana Heart tournamentand get my a** beat but I cant find where I register at. Do I wait until the day of the event to register? Or do I have to fill out something here?
I also want to bring a few friends too, Im excited. Sorry for sounding lame LOL
You register the day of the event. To help me and the other staff better gauge what the attendence will be like it is encourage for you to pre-register on here. We won’t use what you post here to make early brackets but it gives us (the staff and me the TO) a better idea of what to expect the day of. Even if you aren’t sure if you are coming or not make it’s still encouraged. It’s in the following fashion:

Yeah, what did you have in mind of playing it on? Myself I’d like to learn more towards Mortal Kombat Trilogy since we can actually get the Playstation version of it. But as far as UMK3, other than playing it on roms, I don’t think there is a version good enough. What did you have in mind? You can run a side tournament in the game if you’d like. It’s nice to see that you are coming through after all. 
Well, the Xbox 360 version of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 is arcade perfect, and then there’s MAME to consider, which is great. I think that Shock runs that game on emulators at the Northeastern Championships, and given how annoying and buggy Trilogy is, it’d be a lot better to just run UMK3.

KoF12 question:
You mentioned that the console exclusive characters are banned, but what of the hidden and boss characters (ie: Adelheid, Shion, etc…)?
I keep hearing different answers to which of the non exclusive characters are actually tourney legal.
If I’m not mistaken, Adelheid Bernstein and Gai Tendo are legal, but the others are not.
Banned. If they are not visible on the screen they are banned.
Gai, Adelheid, Jyazu, Silber, and Hayate are legal. Always have been, and always will be.
PS2 exclusive characters including the bosses NOT playable in the arcade (Magaki, Shion) are banned.
Will it be possible to register the day of the tourney? Because me and a friend want to go but we may have others attend.
Yeah, that’s fine. Pre-registration is only done so us (the staff) will know how many people plan on attending so we can make proper accommodations and a head count of how many people we expect to have the day of the tournament. Obviously there will be way more people than pre-registered but this at least gives us a decent idea.
Also, as far as KOFXII Metalmike is right, the past two ICs we’ve ran it that way. I can ask Shinblanka to make extra sure of it if needed.

But otherwise, if that’s true then you guys have not been running the tournament standard.
The mid-bosses are playable in the arcade and have been legal in every KOF XI tournament held in the country, including Final Round X, which was to my knowledge the single biggest SNK tournament this decade.
I am going to ask Shinblanka and see what his rule set is. Sorry, I meant KOFXI. If that is how he runs it then I’ll allow it. Also, there is a super huge announcement that will be made within the coming day or so. I have to confirm it but if it goes through you guys will be hyped out of this world.
