Although I couldn’t disagree more with thinking such as this…
…This, however, is often true, based on the case typically being that the variety of competition compared to an arcade environment is lacking, leading to not having much experience with the game (not that it’s any surprise, though). It’s not to say it’s impossible to find good competition at home, though, but I’m rarely so lucky.
all i want is to face the most challenging players all over the world, to feel the rush of playing against someone better than you, to improve your gameplay, to try to be the best.
I dont give a damn playing with scrubs … just a waste of time.
You better go to Mexico (because its closer, not necessarily better) instead of hoping that the top players of the world will get money in 2 months to play a tourney that, so far, probably has worse competition that their local arcades…
typical cali player… anyways its SNK’s fault for not promoting their game, marketing the product in other regions so arcades can actually buy it and hiring programmers to make a decent port. so get your head out your ass, if someone doesnt have acess to an arcade version they are stuck with the console.
You should be encouraging people to come out idiot.
Yeah, these K-Force people talk like they are the shit. I fought The Answer (one of the K-Force guys) online, and he didn’t seem to have anything noteworthy. Yes yes, online play is far different, but I didn’t even see any decent execution of strategy…just your generic kof2k2 player.
I’ll probably have to agree with JohnnyEight about doing it for evo2k6…Perhaps a small tourney can be held for 2k5, but don’t expect any serious competition until 2k6 (when other players around the world are aware of this and are able to gather money).
hey, I dont wanna play NEW players that like kof 2k2 … I only want to face the already existing good players that have been playing this game since 2002 and that know their stuff.
The new people can do whatever they want for all I care … I leave them to deal with you … a scrub.
hahaha !!! so u fought my friend online ? … omg man u r so funny.
generic player ? … man, comparing playing online with all your shitty lag to playing on an MVS ? … u suck buddy.
First off dumbass you dont even know who I am. Yeah ive been playing KOF since 96 and have played EVERY KOF on MVS. I just dont go around like you telling people what to play and not play. I dont know why you have the elitist attitude for a game that really doesnt have a scene. While your dick is getting all hard for power you dont have, youre actually not helping the scene at all. So when SNK changes their marketing to consoles in the U.S. (because lets face it the arcade scene is dead and i dont see SNK pushing to put more games in arcades in the U.S.) are you not going to play? Or are you going to buy atomis for everyone? I dont know what you mean by “like” KOF?? Am i supposed to show my devotion to you or something, i dont know what you mean. Youre such the hardcore gamer now.
KOF will NEVER take off as long as there are people like you. While youre bickering and complaining, evo/SRK staff will look at this thread and conclude that KOF isnt worth anything and wont even bother with the game.
Oh well since KOF is now dead i guess ill just rep STL CREW in tekken 5 at evo.
Good players that have been playing the game since 2002 will show up even if it’s on PS2 or Xbox. Problem is those players will probably be there for the other games listed because as of right now there is still no way to vote for the players choice games and two months is cutting it close for people to earn money and to get organized to go.
This vote in a game thing was a great idea but it should have been in effect as soon as possible and completed as soon as possible. With the games not selected yet there’s no way your going to get some of the best players in the world for those games to go.
Emil, shut up. I’ve got $5 Paypal that says you’re a scrub and that I will clean your money online, and I can’t fucking do a MAX combo to save my life.
Then again, you don’t need those in 2002. They’re nice to have, true, but I think I’ll change Oscar’s impression of me after a good bit of 2002 love.
And I’ve got good friends to help me.
So yeah, KOF on PS2 / XBOX may not be the best, but at this rate who really gives a shit? Let’s just get over it and play and if everything comes together, maybe 2002 will happen again, or maybe Neowave – and in due time, we’ll have a better scene going and maybe Neowave will be arcade perfect… and then we can just move our asses to that.
Here’s hoping XI and NGBC turn out to be great and garner a bit more acceptance. Maybe we’ll see a bigger scene for those and some arcade-perfect ports… finally.
EDIT: As of 11/18/2005, after Emil wrecked my ass online, the $5 are now in his hands. :shake:
Try and get a couple of mexican top players (I mean real top if possible) to exhibit at 2k5 and I think you’ll develop more US interest to KoF in 2k6. Maybe…
It seems that 2k2 is still the most played KoF in the top KoF countries. Neowave is not that far behind, but I think it is safe to guess that more hardcore players would come to 2k2 instead of Neowave or whatever. 2k3 was a 15 day game in most countries…
