il give it a try, i dont have a fantastic computer so i dont know how bad it will be.
Dont worry about having a great computer. I have a 6 year old laptop that can run GGPO just fine. The only thing that can be a bitch sometimes is the setup. All the problems you can run into tho have probably been documented. I really enjoy it a great deal better than 3SOE.
Man, I gotta agree with this thread so much tho. SF4 lured me back into fight games, but I moved on to 3S and now I can barely watch pro footage of SF4. Its just boring to watch and boring to play. Im pretty sure ill be playing 3S till it dies or it has a second coming.
I really dont understand the whole argument that 3S is too technical to ever be accepted or not as welcoming to beginners. To me its easier to understand than a lot of games. In SF4, say your against a character whos just spaming a move cuz its safe on block like adon or fei have, you have to go to greater lengths learning how to deal with that. In 3S you parry and punish his ass for thinking he can get away with relying on one attack. You dont need to study frame data or anything else for this, just notice someone is being predictable.
Parry and punish IMO is loads more difficult than randomly throwing out a dp and hitting 2 buttons.
It’s ok you’re trapped in a perfect world.
I’m the best 3SO ONLINE player.
Yeah, I guess I’m over simplifying things. I just feel 3S is more straight forward than SF4. When I loose, it’s usually obvious why, and corrections to my game are easier to make. This is especially more obvious when adjusting from round to round. Admittedly, playing someone who is a decade of practice better than me feels like I’m just being mowed down at times.
This is one of the few games tho that I really feel like Im playing the player and not just the character, and that in itself is extremely addictive.
YOU’RE ALL FREEEEEEEEEEEEEE NAAAAAAAAAAAOOOOWWWWWWW
It’s pretty much the only videogame I play now, and it doesn’t even work properly on Live, lol
10 years on, and I just started to pick up Oro a bit, after a few serious beatdowns with him from mojiT09
Always something new to do and see in this game - I even play different chars and/or supers depending on what pad or stick I have plugged in :xeye:
imma go on live roght now. hope to rank match some of you.
You are playing the player. Most match up issues are non existent outside of the abuseable shit like Akuma’s cl.st.forward against Hugo. Fuck it, Akuma in general is a match up problem. Nigga’s broken.
I keep telling you fuckers this: Play KOF13! You want a game with real fucking depth, gives you tons of options, variety, and mind fuckery? Play this game. If you have a local FGC there is no fucking excuse not to play this.
Think someone’s being predicable? Guess what? You don’t have to just block it in KOF, you don’t have to use Yomi and think they’re going to do that predictable shit and pre-emptively counter it. Someone’s using projectiles? Use your character’s EX move, almost every character in the game has one EX move that goes through projectiles. Are they rushing you down? Are they doing an annoying blockstring? Use one bar and AB Roll out while blocking and you can punish them most of the time, because using AB Roll while blocking leaves you almost totally safe and you can punish them. You got them in the corner and they’re starting to fight their way out? Block what they do and hit CD and break that shit and put them right back in the corner.
Play this shit. SFxTK is dog shit. Go play a game that has depth and rewards you for knowing how to play without gem bullshit.
And guess fucking what? It may be the most balanced fighter of the decade! There is no top tier Chun Li character that rapes everyone else, everyone can do something and everyone can do massive damage.
Fucking play it! it’s $30 new at Gamestop. Stop smoking your pot for a second and close out your Jpeg’s of Rockefella’s nude gamer chick/4chan stash and play a good fighting game. Do it niggas!
hey guys…it’s friday night…

I don’t know if you guys have discussed this in the forums already but it feels to me that there is a huge difference between the arcade version and the online edition. I can’t do certain combos with ryu on the online edition which I was able to do in the arcades.
you’re bullshitting or your execution is trash so playing on a console messes you up.
No, You couldn’t be more wrong all i’m saying is that ryu has really broken combos but you have to do them at a precise moment or it doesn’t work. Like ex tatsu in a corner when your right near him than follow up with an ex shoryu, y’know simple shit like that I even find is off on this abortion of a port. Go on youtube and watch A street fighter 3 ryu combo video and you’ll know what im talking about. In fact here is one

Man, I do them shits in my sleep…
EDIT: Why choose this guy’s combo vids to make a point? His combos are TAS’ed and aren’t really *reasonably *possible. It seems like you’re timing is a bit off from the arcade to console transition.
Am I supposed to take advice from somebody who has a major in 3rd Strike? Probably not because the people that are good at 3rd strike don’t brag about it and post on SRK, there in Japan owning lol
Gamefaqs.
By the way If you play the PS2 port which is 10 times better you will notice the difference.
Lol
