Faster startup on his sweep. 6 frames would be nice (5 would be sweeeet).

Fix the issue with the tiger knee motion on his air dash. I realize that it’s only viable because of an exploit of input leniency anyways but why does this not work the same way?? I’m guessing it has something to do with the start up of the move or the min distance from the ground it can activate. Change it so it works dammit.

Obviously I would trade all of this for srk fadc on block but I’m afraid what he would lose in order to get that.

I love that you can’t FADC his shoryu on block. That shit is a crutch no shoto should be allowed to have. If you fuck up and do a shoryu you deserve a punish.

OH, the EX Air Dash needs to be given to him! Being able to cancel those with normals would be worth the meter.

ex.tatsu dropping people happens to Akuma too, I don’t think they fixed that. it’s totally arbitrary too: like if you have to many hits in a combo (god forbid) or cancel from a normal the game doesn’t like, the tatsu will just shoot people out after to hits, waste of meter, fucking awful

also, for learning cross up tatsu’s, you wanna time it so that the first kick wiffs just over their head. the spacing is pretty easy, basically be at a point where you would land an air normal directly on top of them. if you do an air kick and you time it to kick them straight on the forehead, that’s about where you should time the crossup tatsu.

eventually you’ll get to a point where even YOU will think you’re going for a regular jump in, but will cross him up instead.

I read here that Eita wouldn’t be attending due to lack of money.

Not sure what kind of utility EX Air Dash would have, but I’m hoping it would add a deadly mix up game to Oni’s arsenal. Especially if he could cancel from AND into a normal jump-in… But that’s wishful thinking.

Fix his EX Tatsu and give him the ability to FADC his DP and he’d be a really dangerous, albeit meter dependent, character.

Just wanted to give Chris Hu extra props for Staying with oni through out Evo. I totally respect that ;D

Dat EX Air dash…damn. Also I used to play akuma in super and that never really happened to me. Apparently it does for ryu though. I dunno.

With these changes Oni would definitely become a much better character for offense, as you guys can see Oni isn’t really dominant in any area so at least capcom can give him something good to work with. Now someone tell me a site where capcom will actually read suggestions lool

those changes look absolutely justifiable.
id just add, that he needs his fb to be fullscreen…its just plain useless except for reacting to other fbs.
id be very happy with the rest and dont think its very unlikely. maybe we should molest one with it a little…

This is obviously just my opinion and speaks more to my particular playstyle but when I use Oni, I live just inside the range where Oni’s fb range ends. I like being able to force my oppenent to react to my fb and have time to react to their anti fb measures. I find his other tools to control that particular space really well too (f+fp). I feel like for me he is most effective and this range. I get to abuse his best poke with out being whiff punished or punished for my recovery. I get to force my opponent to try and react to my fireball and force them to jump in at a range I can punish jumpins at. It’s my sweet spot. It’s also happens to be the only range where mk.slash is effective against other fireballers too.
Now there are obviously matchups where I don’t like to live there like against sim (up in dat ass), sagat (just outside his lk.tigre knee range), etc. His fireball isn’t the best but it’s only one of his tools and it’s range actually compliments his other tools imo.

to be honest, i havent looked at it like that. maybe its just the long recovery that throws me of.
i think ill revoke that statement, since i gained a new viewpoint on it.

I mean if Oni had a kara tiger uppercut he could use to punish people jumping at almost full screen then having a full screen fb is absolutly on my wish list.
