IGN reports SFIV for iPhone

So I ended up buying it. lol

Gameplay is pretty good. You can do t3h CoMboS N StUffS! ZOMGS! Having a special button makes spamming fire balls ridiculously fast, easy, and funny! lol Imagine if there was Sagat?!?!

For beating the game you get to watch what seems to be a SSFIV pron trailer featuring a threesome?!?!?! :nono: Capcom

Well good news for iKen. Srk fadc ultra gets the full ultra without being counter-hit. Go iKen!

i’m having more fun with this game than the actual sf4 game. it’s a shame there’s only 8 characters. also, i’m pretty sure these are digitally captured sprites and not realtime models in 3D. someone should make this shit for psp wit teh quickness!

iSF4 is amazing Has yet to crash. I’m doing combos like in the console version.

Can you say srk fadc ultra? Abels rekkas fadc launcher -> ultra? Bisons 4 lk combo to scissor? YEAH! lol

Thing about Ken though: You have to fadc his 3rd hit on his shoryuken because the 1st and 2nd hit don’t launch the opponent for some reason. It’s weird. I’ve never played Ken before on console so I dunno if that’s how it really is though lol (doubt it)

Actually you’ve got that a little mixed up bud. First hit can be canceled but doesn’t launch. Second hit can be canceled and does launch. Third hit can’t be canceled because he’s airborne.

The only two differences I see from arcade are that the first hit doesn’t launch on counter-hit and you don’t need it to be a counter-hit to connect the full ultra. Which totally makes sense. If that switch was added to arcade Ken would be in business.

Very good

This game is so much better than I expected. It has an insane level of depth for an iphor game, and given the limitations of the control interface. The joystick is a little wonky for the first hour or so, but once you get used to it the game is realy smooth.

The game has great potential for thinking through setups and footsies visually, and actually helps you think high-level as you don’t have as many normals.

Great game overall. Perfect for what it is. Hope they continue this trend.

And yes, I would also love to see an iPhone external controller.

Mine crashes all the time. =(

btw, the AI isn’t bad in this game. for example, playing against able, the computer links ultra after c.fierce.

Yea I found this too. Very big positive for the game. Maybe it’s a result of each character having fewer options.

Anybody tried Bluetooth link head-to-head yet?

Akuma, DLC confirmed:

When I first got the game, I was amazed. Best thing I’ve ever gotten for my iPhone besides some language and sound apps. I was playing as chun li the whole time, and I’ve come to a conclusion - It’s pretty damn hard to do a half circle back on an iPhone. It all depends on how your thumb is at the moment - too sweaty or oily means it will be very tough to drag your thumb in a half circle motion quick enough to register for a hazanshu (it also leaves some nice looking smears on your screen). This is all AFTER I’ve washed my hands even. Your thumb has to be JUST RIGHT (and even then, that state only lasts for about 20 seconds). I can’t do shit unless I play with Special Move assist on. I don’t feel like its lowering me, I know for a fact that my reason for doing it is just because of the controller being a little tough to use. Hell, I could do HC all day on arcade stick (do it all the damn time for chicken wings).

Another thing I think is worth mentioning is the placement of the buttons on the screen. I don’t know why, but I find myself moving around the buttons on the screen after maybe every tournament I play. What I try to do is make all the buttons be in a place where I would naturally place my thumb for a punch, kick, etc. However, this natural placement seems to change, and I think it may be a factor of how I’m holding the phone. (thing is… natural placement for punch never changes…?)

As for the AI, I think the AI is just fine. It isn’t as good as on the consoles and PC, but I believe this is because it knows that sometimes its tough to do some inputs, and that sometimes you’re interrupted mid fight by a reminder that you have microeconomics in 30 minutes (which just so happened to be during a combo I rarely get off).

Is this the same for all characters? Because surely for some characters, having cr. LK is vital, but I don’t see that listed here…

Just got the game yesterday and so far I’m liking it. Here’s a vid of a replay where I’m playing Ryu:

There’s a few others on the channel where I’m using Chun-Li.

I’m going to try Dhalsim and Abel next. I plan to use this during my lunch breaks and while on the bus. :nunchuck:

Just played it today.

Ok it wasn’t my cup of tea. Dunno why everyone was hyping it so much.

Because most of us think it’s fucking awesome?

Dunno why people always think they are right and everyone else is wrong.

It annoys me that the language options are all or none. It’s either all English text and voices or all Japanese text and voices. I want English text with Japanese voices dammit!

I think it’s awesome how the command list changes based on whether or not you have SP Move Assist on or off. Nice touch.

EDIT

I just noticed it preserves the usage of negative edge inputs somehow. And certain shortcuts. Like DF, D, DF+P still does a shoryu. Pretty epic.

A bunch of us are totally going to be playing this on the side. I propose SP Move Assist ON/OFF as player’s choice and Auto Guard OFF as default settings.

Oh I’m sorry I have different taste than you.

awesome. i love akuma in sf4 because his combos look so cool. he should be fun to use in this game:wgrin:

EDIT
there should be another subsection in the SF4 Series thread for iFighter.

has anyone been able to link Abel’s forward+kick to close punch? i’ve been trying this and i can’t get it to link for the life of me. seems like they took out this link from the arcade version :frowning:

Seems like it doesn’t work. I’m pretty disappointed with Abel so far.
