Not absurd at all; biologically it is a really fucking difficult problem to temporarily shut down male fertility without also making the person sick as all hell. You’re looking at a lot of the same types of problems that crop up when you’re looking for cures for cancer.
Female fertility already has several natural “off switches” built in to the process, so figuring out how to trigger those is a vastly simpler problem- and even then sometimes we fuck up and make people sick.

The method in the article you linked is more akin to a surgical implant than a drug, and is actually implemented and reversed via surgical procedures that are extremely similar to a vasectomy.

Any time you obstruct vessel, you’re just asking for infection. Whether it be from a kidney stone, gallstone, etc. Doesn’t seem smart to intentionally block off the vas deferens. That’s like putting a plug in a woman’s cervix and not expect any complications.
Guys are full of shit. Chicks have been getting IUDs since the early 1900’s and it remains the safest, most effective form of birth control and is WAY more intrusive than a quick shot in the balls. …Do you know how an IUD works? The copper in the IUD messes with sperm. More recent IUD’s have progesterone so it can provide local hormones rather than swallowing a pill. By no means does it literally plug a hole and stop the flow of whatever it’s supposed to let through. For the love of god, look up things before you post it.
