If you want to buy a custom arcade stick

Really? I had no idea that was possible. How would someone go about making a stick that works for both consoles? (Just curious, I don’t know too much about this stuff)

Project Boxes, or modular design.

They stick two PCB’s in there or they make it with a db15 connection and make separate adapters for whatever systems they want.

Heh heh, this coupled with the avatar made me laugh.

“Aww dad…”

Is anyone currently taking orders for custom sticks? All of the people linked in this thread are either retired, away, or have no slots open.

A friend of mine is in need of a custom, so I figured I would ask around here for him.

If anyone is actively building customs, shoot me a PM please.

I’m curious about this too. Looking to buy a stick as soon as possible. Send me a PM

If either of you are looking for a PS or an Xbox 360 stick I recommend Arcade in a Box.

The man does quality work at a reasonable price.

I’m no longer “Away”… please mark me as active.

A few points I wanted to make regarding player endorsement:

  • Having a pro’s name on something is a really weak promise of high quality and I think the average gamer is well aware of this. Generally it does represent a minimum promise of not being total crap, but that’s a far cry from certainty of being top-of-the-line.

  • To the average fan of a given activity buying equipment for that activity, brand names are more impressive than people names. This is true whether you’re buying a soccer ball, a pair of skate shoes, or a computer mouse.

  • Playing fighting games competitively is not a mainstream thing. Casual players won’t recognize the names of top players.

  • Serious players don’t idolize the top players anyways. The hardcore scene is relatively small, so the community is tight-knit. Online or IRL, meeting a guy or even just knowing people who know said guy definitely takes the mystique out of his name. He’s not some faceless, far-away, untouchable god anymore, he’s just that friendly dude you saw sipping a Powerade before the tournament started.

  • Ugh, who wants some other dude’s name on their shit?!

  • Stay cool.

edit: BONUS STAGE!!! (from this interview)

Rock on, dude used to play MK money matches!

Arcade in a box makes great sticks, but unfortunately he got an order from Capcom to never use their art, and so he refuses to do ANY trademarked art of any kind.

I’ve pretty much retired since I can’t find the time for it anymore. Please take me off the list, thanks.

I’m looking for a PC compatible custom joystick with all Sanwa parts. I’ve sent a PM to one seller but may not hear from him due to him being busy.

If anyone is interested and has some feedback/lots of experience in building quality custom joysticks, please send me a PM.

Thanks.

I need a custom stick please, who was the guy that made mas sticks but with locks that you can open and store stuff in and also had a handle to carry it with. I forgot who was it.

I believe you’re thinking of PaintedPale, but he’s been gone for awhile now. I’m pretty sure one of the guys still available could make something similar.

so whos active on making joysticks? i’ve trying to get one for some time.

Well I was wondering where I could get a custom stick but in mvc2 format, I mean I search all over but no one ever has one could someone help me please and thank you.
