Being Asian, my family members in the area usually celebrate stuff like Chinese New Years and Secretary’s Day. We don’t really do stuff for western holidays. In years past, I used to invite foreign exchange and poor students who weren’t going home over for dinner. These days, all my friends have all become responsible/affluent individuals. So, I thought I’d open my home up to gamers this year.
If you’ve got no plans for Thanksgiving, PM me. A couple of gamers will be having a traditional style dinner at my place in North Seattle. Any civil individual is welcome. But if you wish to attend, please let me know by noon on Sunday at the latest. I need to plan a menu, and the number of people to feed needs to be finalized well in advance.
We will most likely be gaming after. So if being in close proximity with your family is a painful experience for you, feel free to stop in after midnight for the cathartic combo session.
I was going to post a long random rant about the holidays here since that is the topic…but it’s too late for all that. If ppl want to hear my nonsense (as well as learn a little more about me negro thread style), ask and you shall recieve. It’s tight that you’re doing this Keith. During HS I had a close friend that would invite me over to her place for the holidays, and those were some of the best holiday dinners I’ve had. It made a huge impact on me as a person and allowed me to escape the nonsense that was going on at home. Maybe yours will do the same.
BYOBBQ? Fucking sweet. How long will this go for? I could probably stop by around 12-1AM, get drunk, do hella combos in ST, and pass the fuck out. Hopefully with Julian by my side.
The games will last as long as people want to play. Since I know that Nate and Julian are showing–and I think Nate doesn’t have to work on Friday–we’ll probably game until 8AM, then I’ll make pancakes like usual. Starch to soak up the alcamahol. So stop on in, Mr. PiB.
Being true to my minority roots, I’m taking full advantage of the turkey sales. I currently have 3 birds in my freezer. Might get more if I find the time in the A.M. hours.
Nate and Pablo can do the Shadow Illusion (AKA Eiffel Tower) combo on Julian.
Dinner will probably begin around 8PM. Some folks have expressed interest in games, and said that they’d pop in after midnight. But, knowing how gamers are, their attendance is unreliable.
I wish I could come. I don’t think I have time. I have to eat grub at my Aunt April’s house with my family. O well, I can probably show up for the next gathering eh.
Great time. Great games. Passable food. Authentic American family holiday experience; even down to the awkward banter between Sullivan and Hannah. Why don’t you like her? Good to see Cody again. Thanks to Mike for bring a 360, Pablo for bringing a stick, Brian for the Guitar hero session, and Nate for bringing 151 along with the entertainment. Thanks to others just for showing up.
I’ve altered my av to mark the gluttonous occasion.
