I’ve said this about Zero when he was announced in TvC in 2009. Zero is quite literally the only fighting game character that is impossible to balance. SvC gave him infinites, effective keepaway, health recovery, and an Exeed that made him literally invincible for 5-10 seconds. In TvC he could abuse Barouqe(sp?) and do long combo extensions. From what I remember from watching streams, Marn played and never lost while playing him. In MvC3, Zero has amazing Mix ups a lot more stupid shit than before. No Zero will ever be as good as Zero from SvC though.
Yeah SvC Zero is old school broke. Him and Geese ran that game. I remember hearing stories about TvC Zero and how Marn barely got touched during his hey day with him. I remember hearing early on about how Marn had doubts about MVC3 Zero before the game came out…but as soon as the game came out and Destin (creator of Destin Loop/D Loop) started figuring shit out…it was obvious Zero was ready to go blow up another game.
Usually I don’t comment on stuff like this because Jay is more then capable of defending himself. First let me get this out of the way.

That being said people need to lay off Viscant. The shit at SB and the amount of hate he got was ridiculous. The dumbest shit I have seen is that a real Phoenix player won SB. What the fuck does that shit even mean? So the guy who places top 4 at Dev, wins Evo, and gets second at SB and is the only person to take a set off Flocker is a scrub now? So because Flocker uses very good and very cheap Zero tactics he isn’t a scrub and because Viscant uses very good, very cheap and very **BASIC **Wesker tech he is a scrub. There is a reason I highlighted basic as I really believe that is part of the biggest problem people have with Jay. From a marvel standpoint he is “boring” to watch. He doesn’t do anything fancy, he doesn’t do resets upon resets upon resets or endless Dante cutscenes. He does basic, easy combos that do very good damage and WIN. Now add Phoenix to that and you have a recipe for disaster as far as people thinking you have “skill”. Now I don’t want people to get it twisted Flocker is a really good player and he should not have been a surprise if anyone was paying attention to Dev. But even at his most boring runaway Zero shenanigans, he is exciting to watch. He fills the screen up with shit and is constantly doing something. Zero is also a combo whore who fills up the combo bar even without the use of supers. Flocker also has a very good regular Phoenix but I guarantee him he would rather NOT have to use her to that extent. If Dark Phoenix was to the point that a quote unquote scrub like Viscant can with Majors with her then why isn’t everyone doing just that? The other things I heard is Viscant is a scrub because he didn’t know how to play Tron. First lets get this straight yes PR Rog is godly with her and Flocker did well with her as well but she is AN ASSIST CHARACTER. Should Jay have known how to play better with her if he was going to put her on the team, yeah probably and he would probably agree with that. But even despite that for that first set it worked, Tron did exactly what Jay wanted her to do and that is provide a get off me card from Zero. Simply put Jay didn’t lose because he was a scrub, he lost because Flocker made the necessary adjustments and was the better player in that match. Not to mention if you actually watch enough matches you will notice Jay tends to lose Phx and still win, that is because his Wesker is still solid and he knows what it takes to win if he has to go to that character. This has always been the give and take in any fighting game, adjustments and counters to those. If a certain character is OP as fuck or a team is, play that damn team and counter the person you are facing with something similar or find a way to beat it. I am not sure where these legion of whiny, self centered, childish fucking idiots came from that if you don’t play X way you are a scrub. You use the tools that are in the game to maximize the results, if other people do not like that they can play something else.
I know I went on a bit of a rant there but this is something I have been noticing for quite some time. Also I am not trying to be some white knight for Jay even if we are the predominate members of the 30 and over club in srkgd.
Just a quick note on my end, even with DP in Marvel 3 there is still alot of bullshit. Do not get it twisted and think Wolvie isn’t almost as bullshit as DP, he is. Notice I said almost before someone tries to blow me up on that. I actually think the biggest problem in Marvel 3 isn’t DP but X Factor itself. If you look almost every comeback or the predominant amount of Happy BDays, it is from X Factor.
But MvC3 is fucking garbage (because of many things, but mainly Phoenix and X-Factor), we all knew that.
And Viscant is a talentless fraud who will hopefully vanish from public view after UMvC3 (let’s hope this game is not as awful vanilla).
Flocker is godlike, though.

Viscant’s execution may be ass, but he does have the best Wesker in the states. His mix-ups are too godly. I think that if he were to switch from Phoenix, he would still be getting top 8.
And its not like Flocker raped him. Viscant DID reset it (if I remember correctly). He isn’t a fraud.
Now I will say this, Viscant’s Phoenix is pretty much cookie cutter. Like, there is nothing special about his Phoenix. If that is why you are calling him a fraud, then ok, but otherwise, he isn’t a fraud.
I’m saying he’s NOT THAT GOOD, because I’m pretty sure he would get destroyed if he didn’t play Phoenix. And from what I gathered from Floe’s insinuations, at the very least he agrees. This is clearly a case of top players having “honor” and not tier-whoring, as a scrubby as that may be, it’s definitely a real phenomenon among US players.
It’s funny how a consistent Top 3 placer (unlike other Phoenix players) is a fraud.
Oh well. I guess streams need villains and heroes just as much as people playing their best.
Their is no fucking honor and Wolvie is almost as bad. Viscant is OG Marvel as well, came up with alot of Marvel and Marvel 2 tech.

Mvc3 “New age of babies”. I was just watching the stream but people booing the use of top tier? Man how times have changed…There was only a handful of times i remember the crowd boo’n anyone before sf4 and that was justin playing chunli in 3s.
Viscant is very boring to watch but he keeps it basic and has his team down to a science just like combofiend…
It went from
Wekser being OP to wolverine/Akuma to she hulk, to Phoneix to Dante back to Phoenix in a matter of months.
And all those characters got nerfed…
Its sad because this game really is still brand new, SB was a testament to how top players can lose to team and characters they down have experience to because of how “new” the game still is.
And for how brain dead scrubby people feel phoenix is there where NO random phoenix players in top 16.
I do hope you realize that floe played a top tier team too.
