I never understood why people who were vehemently against a thread post in just to say it should be closed when that only keeps it alive longer. That seems so exceedingly backwards; then again, I guess that’s par for the course when it comes to humanity.
Oh, okay. I see. I kinda thought that’s what you were getting at, but it was worded too vaguely for me.
I can mostly agree, especially since I concur that it seems rather obvious that you should know how to deal with the most basic things everyone has, no matter how “low tier”. I’m just a little hesitant to agree completely for a couple of reasons, one of them being that this game won’t ever really get a proper tier list (beyond the obviously really good characters) since those take at least a year (IMO) and MvC3 dies half-way through next month, a mere 9 months after its release.
Which finals are talking about, exactly?
Anyway, I hadn’t heard about this at all. I’m really not sure what to think about it either. On the one hand, it sort of makes sense for the more immobile characters to have longer X-Factors and the more mobile characters to have shorter ones (assuming that’s how it’s going to, which it may very well not). On the other hand, it seems really bizarre (again) to normalize (and thus largely weaken) X-Factor across the board and then go out of your way to make character specific stuff relating to it again.
Meh.
I guess this means that Hsien-ko will get 99 seconds of X-Factor 3 then. Good for her.
The XF duration for Dark Phoenix definitely looks shorter. I can’t really say for sure if it looks shorter than other characters ATM but in MVC3 she definitely would have had a good bit of time left by the time the last character died there. I’ll just kinda wait till Ultimate comes out to really see but anything to make XF3 DP less annoying is cool.
(Yay, someone who can properly timestamp. I <3 you.)
Oh, that tournament. I completely forgot to look at those videos for a couple of reasons. Thanks for the reminder, even if I do not need to get distracted by something else for literally hours.
Hmm…I see. It’s difficult to tell, especially since X-Factor didn’t run out completely before that match ended, but yeah, it seemed to be draining faster than normal. It’s difficult to tell if that’s Phoenix specific, though, or just some illusion of the weird life-bar change that I’m still so not used to. (I still can’t understand why they changed that.)
As far as I can tell, not that many people hate on Viscant aside from the stream monsters who blew up SRK right after EVO. I am surprised no other top player runs his team though, if its OMFGSOBROKENOMFG.
Seth mentions in the Ultimate Norcal vs Capcom 3 stream/footage that X-Factor lasts different durations for different characters. So that would be logical.
alot of people used phoenix and didnt do nearly as well has viscant… not to mention that his wesker/haggar put alot of work in as well. and im sure 99% of people who act like phoenix is an auto win couldnt beat anyone in the top 8 at evo with 3 phoenixes and 15 bars.
Good, bad, what do any of these platitudes actually mean if at the end of the day I have a trophy and fight money and you don’t? Don’t try to hide behind shit like that.
Point in case: Masta CJ’s debut on the 8 on the Break stream.
Masta CJ beats Marlinpie, Stream monsters:
MASTA CJ
FUCK CHAIRS
MARLINPIE IS FREE
FREEHEI
PAD WARRIORS UNITE
Josh Wong beats Masta CJ 5 minutes later, Stream monsters:
MASTA FREEJ
PAD PLAYERS SO FRAAAAAAAAAY
EXPOSED
PAD PLAYERS GET EXPOSED
Stream monsters are very fickle creatures, and there are very few stream monsters that actually say anything constructive.
Dr. Cox said it best, Stream monsters are “Bastard coated Bastards with bastard filling.”
viscant’s wesker/hagger combo is really good and also he has one of the best weskers Ive seen, also all he did was find some really broken and use it I mean thats kinda how mvc3 is suppose to be I respect that and I dont use phoenix
So then everyone who complained about Akuma in ST were scrubs? Just checking your logic here…
There’s nothing wrong with complaining about characters. I’m not sure why that’s so confusing. Its not like it takes away from any of the players playing or says they suck. Part of the reason these guys win tournaments and win EVO is because they are good enough players to not let the naysayers get to them. I almost feel like the fans of these players are getting hurt more than the actual players themselves.
