sort of. It’s a trick people have used for the (slipping my mind - the opposite of 3D printing, put acrylic in and it laser cuts/etches it for you), build an el cheapo one and use it to make a good quality one exactly how you want.
The funny one is using a 3D printer to make an ink cartridge for a normal printer - take that Brother/HP/Kodak.
I have a buddy that works for a company that printed a motorcycle. He had a bunch of stuff he printed, from world of warcraft figures, to skulls and skeletons of feet and hands, and rotating gears in a box that was already assembled within the plastic. It’s pretty cool shit, I asked him if he could print me some OEM fairings for my sport bike, but the fucker swayed the conversation because he is lazy by nature.
