If UMvC3 evolves to a point where it's a 6-8 character game, would you still play it?

Psh, come on, no one listens to washed up veterans like ClakWerk!

Seriously though, both the post Clock quoted and Clock’s post are solid. It’s hard to say where UMvC3 is going, but until there is more MorriDoom, there won’t be any less MorriDoom.

It would be pretty sweet if it was 25 vs 25 w/ no time limit. where both players would have to pick between marvel or capcom. it would marvel vs capcom for real  but that’s just my fantasy.

As a strategy game fan, that would be amazing.

shoryukening thread due to new wakeup srk podcast with viscant:

LOL first minute in “I’m not longer picking Wesker, that garbage character”.

Well even though I only play on XBL most of the time, I picked up Nemesis since day 1 and havent looked back since. Sure, he sucks and has a hard time against 65% of the cast especially zoning teams… but he is fucking fun to play. It’s hilarious watching ppl run away the whole match only to get command grabbed into their death. I think there is only 1 other Nemesis player that is on the higher ranks besides me so online or offline… Nemesis will get bodied if you dont know wtf youre doing.

So to answer your question yes I will keep on playing this game no matter how many anchor wesker/vergil/strider teams I play against, morridooms or any other bullshit ass play to win teams I encounter. Im gonna get bodied a lot and Im ok with that but Im gonna enjoy every ass whooping I give in return to the fullest!

A two great articles.

Like I said, I more concern about the quality of MVC3 than the quantity of characters. As long as there isn’t one dominate tactic that beats fucking everything, we are good. I play skullgirl, I don’t care if a game is a 8 character game.

I have no problem with the amount of viable characters being limited so long as the styles and amount of creative freedom within the characters is diverse enough that you can play the way you want to with them.

The reason Im not a fan of the SF4 metagame right now is because there are only really 10 or so viable characters at a high level and they pretty much all involve getting a knockdown from some sort of offense and performing a script once you get that knockdown. I think SFxT also has potential to head in that direction.

In marvel there is potential for there to only be 10 or so viable characters but within that Morridoom, Zero/dante, Mag/Doom, Vergil/Vajra etc all play very different and you can get creative with them.

As long as the creative element is still in this game I will keep playing it. If I need to change up my team competitively down the line, so be it, but I still think my team will be viable to some degree.
It’ll be sad when people aren’t interested in making teams with their favorite characters anymore, but by then Marvel 4 will already be out, right?
