If Transformers was a fighting game

Let me TRY THIS AGAIN!

If Transformers was a fighting game unlike the Beast Wars Transmetals game, how would you make it a perfect fighting game?

Kinda like Injustice: Gods Among Us.

Oh man this reminds me of Rise of the Robot, probably the worst fighting game in history xD

Transformers imo doesnt have anything going for it to be a good fighter, they all primarily use range weapons and some of the robots would frogstomp most of the others so balancing would be a pain in the ass.

I don’t think Tranformers is right for a fighting game. The shooters are really good and feel exactly how a Tranformer would feel(I’d imagine). The War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron were really cool, but I felt like the Transformers 2 game and control scheme was better. The way it was played basically had you holding one of the triggers to stay in car form, so you could switch forms on the fly with no real thought to it. Unfortunately, T2 was imbalanced, and both of the WFC/FOC games are full of hackers.

Having played those games, I can’t imagine playing a Transformers fighter, it would feel too restricted.

I’m picturing Marvel’s beam/projectile-heavy game, mixed with Bloody Roar, CPS3 Jojo’s, P4A etc.

might be somewhat like Gundam EX VS with the ability to trasnform?

Examples how a Giant Robot Fighting game would work.

The fuck you would make this shitty thread again…

I think the idea has merit.

Hell, Optimus Prime (under his Japanese name of Convoy) already appeared in one Fighting game DreamMix TV World Fighters
Its was Hudsonsoft/ Konami / Takara cross over Smash Bros style fighter

Just use the god awful Beast Wars game as an example of what not to do.
I viewed videos of the game on youtube, yeah the Beast Wars Transmetals game was cringe worthy, and the whole Beast Wars series was worst than what you can say about the Michael Bay films.

So for the sake of mine (and everyone elses) sanity lets all agree now that Beast Wars never existed.

All Oppose (sound of Crickets)
All For (Outstanding applause)
Okay for the purposes of this thread I declare Beast Wars never to existed, now bring forth the brain bleach.

A transformer fighting game might work, both as a 2d and 3d game depending what direction you want to take this.

If you use the old G1 or Armada art style your better of as a 2D sprite base fighter
If you go with the War on Cybertron visual style then 2.5D or 3D type of game.

Maybe they can explore in to the underrated and rather decent Trans tech universe which somehow found a way to incorprate every transformer character ever from all the series including some rather originally non transformer characters (such as the go bots, which Hasbro has bought out the rights for).

Transformers did have melee attacks too, so it not be all projectiles. Depending on the series Prime used a Energon Axe, a Rocket Axe or a Heat Sword. Grimlock was almost all melee.

The Robot/vehicle modes could work like stances in other fighting games where each mode have its own attacks and pros and cons.

I do like if the War on Cybertron art style was done in the same or similar game engine as Injustice. Each bot shows more battle damage as the battle rages on, the environment takes damage ect…
As for a story line? Hell Do any fighting game need an excuse to kick ass? It might be cheesy for a TV show plot but it work in the game, there could be duplicate (clone) bots who happen to side with different factions.
Or some tech that could cause a bot to act against his normal nature.
