If They Ask Where You Went...Say Skyrim

im there. this is in my anticipation list.

i’m so hype…you guys…i…oh man.

in celebration i’m going to crack open the morrowind construction set and start making mods again.

make the game compelling so i feel a reason to fight enemies as opposed just sprinting through the oblivion gates(i did that for every one made everything so much easier…)

Bring back jump and fly… there was nothing cooler than jumping off a mountain and running through the air for a couple minutes way above everything having the spell go off, recast while you’re falling and go back to moving way more quickly than you could on the ground… it’s the ONLY way to travel in Morrowind because there’s just sooo much stuff… Also, why are people saying spells were useless in Morrowind? I used spells to unlock the hardest locks, I crafted my own spells to basically destroy everything in my path… I almost never used Melee Weapons in Morrowind… Did I miss something?

I completely agree with cities being integrated into the world map.

I completely agree with the level scaling being dumb.

I completely agree that Morrowind > Oblivion…

Bring back the ability to float / glide / fly or to have a mount other than a stupid horse…

I enjoyed killing as many people as possible. KILL THEM ALL! Then restart the game if it was a Quest npc… but the first quest that captivated me in Oblivion was the graverobber quest, awesome shit - hard for me at first to figure out.

I really liked Oblivion and I played the crap out of it. I never played any other Elder Scrolls games. I’ll pick this one up im sure. That trailer didn’t impress me though.

I also want cliff racers back, :3

I remember one of my friends used to play Morrowind a ton and had only one save file…he jacked some of my bleach tcg shit so I got him down to like 10hp, and got a cliff racer to chase his character. save game

Take shit of mine without asking…you’re fucked.

Can’t wait, loved Oblivion and Fallout/New Vegas. Thank goodness for a new engine, and hopefully the quirks will be changed. But me, my biggest request: BOSSES! The games are so anticlimatic(sp) with no real boss fights. Especially the random dungeons.

EXACTLY. I remember in Final Fantasy, going to places I shouldn’t be (I used to skip the fire crystal and go straight for the airship, then try to make my guys upgrade to old people, then go back and merc shit), and trying strategies. I’d love to enter a dungeon I know I will die in more than likely, then try to hustle through it just for a ring I’m not experienced enough to equip lol. In Oblivion, you never get those chances. Like others have said, at least include some places that have shit like that. Random dungeons should have a boss style monster in them, guarding something worth stealing.

Hell, I never knew there was armor between leather armor and glass armor, as I levelled right past iron/dwarven/elven/whatever shit, right to the better stuff.

just like I said above. In Morrowind, the first thing I did was make a ring with 100 Open. Fuck locks for the rest of the game. But yeah, being a thief sucked ass most of that game. Why is cheese in a fucking impenetrably locked chest?

I would also like to see them make the signs a little more even. Fuck, Atronach was SOOOOO overpowered in Oblivion. By the end of the game, magic didn’t affect you at all, and you could do the ghost glitch almost all game long for infinite health/magic. Then compare that other signs that literally had weakness to fire that would KILL you instantly.

TONS more factions to join, like Fishjie stated.

agreed. Even the houses you bought where it was setup for that, it was a whore trying to put a dagger in a display case, or some stones. Gimme a Halo Forge style creation or something lol. Idiot proof that shit. Mind you, my house in Oblivion was pretty awesome (can you say skulls everywhere?)

I’d like a better way of organizing keys and papers too…shit your inventory gets CROWDED as fuck later on

I’d like the super Guard AI to get tweaked too. Fuck characters seeing u steal through walls or ceilings. Or being charged with murder for killing somebody in the middle of nowhere.

And I love how many people didnt read the rest of my cliff racer comment

The new game engine is reason enough for me to buy it.

I’ve never played Morrowind. =/ Anyone have a copy they don’t need anymore for xbox?

some new info about ES5

RPGamer - News Bulletin - Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Info Thaws Out

So hyped for this. The only bad thing is I’m gonna have to fight with my mom with who gets to play it. Yeah you read that right, my mom. Yes she is a gamer, and yes she is awesome

+1. They really should play King’s Field for ideas on how to make the world more compelling with less in it. The amount of hidden shit in that game is unbelievable. I still play through that game like once a year and find new shit that i’d never seen before.

In terms of good articles about ES5, I was actually pleasantly surprised to see this month’s edition of GameInformer had a really nice article that details some of the changes their making and some of the things they want to do with story adaptation to events etc…

Any ES game is a good game… I’m so on this hype train.

The fact that they took out the “auto-leveling” enemies, and went back to the old Morrowind mold of “go to the wrong place too soon and it’s yo’ ass, son”, alone is enough reason for me to pre-purchase this ish.

As I see it.

Magic should … look more impressive and be of more use, but maybe my build just crumbled before the level up system in Oblivion.

It was ok overall and I enjoyed the Brotherhood questline (mage assassin), but playing a magic char did not bring that much satisfaction.

For once creating your own spells was a nice part of the game. I gladly trade it for a more versetile core spell list, which has better visuals. Never did a fireball look that unimpressive, even the late game explosion ones… Second thing to note is, that at around level 25 you became totally ineffective with most magic and your summons die really really quick. The monster scaling is indeed not fun when playing a mage.

Fast travel is a fine feature but perhaps should jsut be saved for mayor cities and not every cave.

The game needs better writing and translation, as it needed a couple of patches by the fanbase to correct quite some language issues in the german version of the game.

In any case, I will look forward to it and perhaps this time being a mage is more fun and blasting things … cooler …:wgrin:

it’s done, i’m sold. sign me up

You can summon a dragon to fight with you…c’mon…that is just awesome.
