If They Ask Where You Went...Say Skyrim

I agree, But I also disagree. I wont spoil it for anyone so I shall assume you will understand what I mean.

200 Years later, Times change and the world changes. The need for the Dark Brotherhood may change, Laws change, people die and people are born with new ideologies. I think what they did was right, But they went a little too far. Although, the ending almost guaranteed that the Dark Brotherhood will return to “Oblivion” Status for the next iteration of TES.

how the hell do o get out of the jail that has the mine ?

Do what the prisoners tell you to and haul ass out of there?

This makes me kind of wish there actually was some bad ass, battle scarred, wolf companion. I saw that the Familiar Conjuration spell, made a spirit wolf in some stream I was watching and it looked cool, but when I tried it, it was super weak and it couldn’t even help me kill asshole faery tree bitches. >: u On the whole, none of the companions I’ve seen have really interested me at all, so I think a wolf would be an improvement.

Combat is really starting to frustrate me. It’s not like I wasn’t expecting it, since it was shitty in Oblivion too, but yeah. I’m just getting real pissy when I’m swinging through people at close range. It always seems like the range of a weapon extends farther than I think it will most times, but there are times where I’m right at close range with someone and my weapon seems to pass right through them. Especially after downing them with Relentless Force. I’m having trouble blocking and parrying with my shield too. I used to be a parryin motha fucka in Oblivion, but now I seem to have trouble just blocking attacks allt he way. I don’t know if it’s my shield placement or what, but it’s annoying.

Bows > Everything.

Oh my god. Why did I not main Ranged earlier, Nailing a bandit in the head from 200m is SO satisfying.

I just miss the fact I can’t block (have a shield) and heal at the same time anymore. But the magic system is altered so it might be for balance sake but I still dislike switching between stuff so it is actually a down grade for me. As a result I don’t even bother blocking, just heal and sword.

Maybe your standards are too high:rofl:

I love Cicero. Ive always liked the… crazies…

Nah, just go around looking at all the female NPCs, literally all the ones you can marry save for Muiri look used and abused. You can’t really marry any of the young hot tavern wenches like the one in Markath.

Yeah ranged is surprisingly awesome, I have mine like at 50 with no perks and it’s still super effective.

Bows are overrated.

30x multiplier sneak attacks is where it’s at. I one shot giants.

Also, does the sneak attack multiplier effect weapon enchants too? Does 10 fire damage become 300?

No idea, but from what I understand, the one-hand damage enchants are bugged and not affecting dagger damage (the perk works fine). You can increase elemental weapon damage by applying weakness to fire and weakness to magic poisons, maybe, which is something from oblivion.

The whole point of an Elder Scrolls game is to explore. You’re not going to get the story just thrown at your and shoved down your throats. This ain’t Final Fantasy here. So I find it perfectly in line and acceptable for a great deal of the actual meat of the story to be revealed through books your need to discover on your own.

This doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, seeing as even Oblivion did a much better job at explaining the events of the story (while using a tiny bit of lore) as the main story progressed (which is the only storyline that needs any explaining IMO). It isn’t forced story if the game is giving you the option to talk to NPCs while doing the main quest who explain things to you if you want. In Oblivion without having to read any books you understood who the Mythic Dawn were, what was their purpose, why they were helping Mehrunes Dagon come to Nirn because when you met certain key NPCs, the choice to listen to what they had to say told you just enough to connect the dots and the books just did a much better job upon greatly expanding on this. You were also told why Martin and the Emperor were important players in all of this, you also understood who Akatosh was and his role in the story.

In Skyrim even if you talk to key NPCs, they don’t explain much. I don’t expect them to have wikipedia length conversations about the events that happened like in Morrowind, where you could talk to Dagoth Ur before engaging in the final fight and he would literally explain just about everything you wanted to know seeing as voice acting is very expensive and all, but even the books and the Wiki don’t have a lot of information on Alduin (unless I am looking in the wrong places, which could very well be the case). People are even questioning a lot of Bethesda’s design decisions for the game, seeing as there just isn’t a lot of information in general covering other stuff such as shouts (which got mentioned in 1 book in Morrowind), and even as it is, the books in the game do a better job at explaining how the first Dragonborn came to be than anything about Alduin. So if the books in the game, the NPC text or the wiki aren’t explaining all the questions, all that is left is to go to the Bethsoft forums and hit up the lore section and listen to the wild claims of fans trying to make sense of the little that the game does explain, that or I they need to hurry up and make a library mod so I can read all the books and see if I find more stuff. Everything I’ve read and found so far on Alduin his very basic stuff (which covers the old events and not the more recent stuff of Skyrim), though the events of the Great War are pretty interesting and they totally need to do an expansion on the Thalmor and the Redguards. The new books do mention a lot of the events of Oblivion, and even some stuff about the Nerevarine.

That and it could very well be that Alduin is just a very boring and generic bad Dragon in which case none of the lore in the universe can save him.

Back to reading more books to see if I find more stuff.
Oh yeah and if you have names of books that explain more stuff on Alduin, leave the names in case I missed them. Gonna go back to the college in winterhold to see if I have access to the books now that I am the archmage, forgot about that.

Edit : Even as the fucking Arch-Mage, I still don’t have access to the books. What a ton of cunts. Now to wait for the Skyrim Library mod to include all the TES books to read again.

Edit 2 : Thinking a bit more about it, they could leave everything EXACTLY how it is right now and just have NPCs give you lore related books when you talk to them (shit can just get added to your inventory, or placed in a chest nearby the NPC). That way if you want to know what’s going on, you have the book, and if you don’t give a fuck, you can just go on your merry way. Sounds like a good idea for a mod.

So I was in Riften and this bitch that ripped some poor dude off smarted off to me for no reason. Needless to say I merked her because I don’t play the chilvary shit. In broad daylight mind you. And the guards didn’t do shit, then some guy walked up to her body and just said “What a waste.”

This game rocks, B!

Some of my favorite parts is just go around exploring and seeing dead bodies caught in pits and shit like that. Makes the game feel alive and like you aren’t the only one out there doing stuff. Finding corpses caught on bear traps is good shit too. They did a fucking AMAZING job in adding flavor to the world and the scenery, exploring leads to a lot of very neat stuff. Companions commenting on stuff is pretty damn nice too, adds flavor to the game.

Edit : And it begins!

Arrow crafting mod was also created, cool stuff.

I just jizzed in my pants. No really, the modding possibilities… FAP FAP FAP.

Cyrodiil? In my Skyrim?

Good lord I’d pay another £50 to go there. My god.

On the Subject of Skyrim, The story is a simple Dragon Slayer quest. But I find that the amount of Books that go into SO much detail about Enemies, Dungeons, Gods and deities, The past, Present, Notable characters, Guides.

I spend hours collecting good Books and putting them into my Solitude home for reading. No shit.

This is the estimated amount of land that is available in Skyrim (the green box). I would pay another $60 per region, to play all that. Also, Skyrim is pretty small in actual size, I was expecting it to be roughly the size of Oblivion, but it isn’t, the scale of the world is all wrong unfortunately. Fallout 3 has been the biggest game so far. Not counting daggerfall.

Skyrim is a fraction smaller than Oblivion, But I’d say more than 40% of Oblivions total Landmass was simply wasted space to bolster size. Skyrim is much more dense, and space is used wisely this time.

Also, If they could do Shivering Isles, They can damn well do high Rock, Hammerfell or Another region.

Yup, the problem here is that if modders wanted to convert cyrodiil over, they’d have a hell of a time. In actual in-game scale, Skyrim looks to be ~1/3 smaller. I agree though, the overall design and placement of stuff in Skyrim is really good and the world just seems more alive overall (though the map is deceptive, things sometimes look like they are really far away but they are not). Sucks for the modders though, but I have faith in them. And yeah, new land masses are always possible.

Hell, they went ahead and made FO3 playing in the FO:NV engine. Though I’m not sure if they got everything working 100%, still impressive.

I miss Vvardenfell so much. If that’s space put there for future content…Bethesda, please take all of my money now.
