"If theres no capcom pro tour and this game came out... PFFFF"

You challenegd me to a ft5 a long time ago during the beta, and I wanted to let you know I ain’t forget that shit boi.

Daigo said critical things about SFIV as well but ended up playing it for 7 years any way.

All I see here is another crybaby upset that he just got fucking destroyed.

Jiyuna on his stream animeilluminati

I disagree here honestly.
People getting mad and saying things doesn’t mean that they aren’t right or that they must be crybabies.
If he legit feels that way, then he is right to himself, right or wrong.

It did take 2 years for SFIV to get to the Super version, which I feel was the best iteration. (Ultra being pretty good also) so I’m not losing hope.

Right now though, I’m excruciatingly bored and waiting for KOF14 and GG:Rev.

You mean PC for the latter or you waiting for the Physical Copy?

And for the top, while SFIV took 2 years to get to SSFIV, SFV really can’t afford it now with some people growing more and more disgruntled at the game. The longer they take, the more people will lose patience and head elsewhere.

If you’ve been around the fgc for 15+ years you’d know that majority of the completive players only play games because of how large a said scene is and if there’s any money behind it. This isn’t something exclusive to SFV; a game I don’t like.

Hanging with the CPT boyz and lighting up instagram is whats fun. Not SF

He’s technically kind of right though. People kept saying that the game is new and to let it sit and marinate before we saw some truly spectacular and deep Street Fighter, but it’s not that deep. The game is very fun and I enjoy it for what it is, but stop this nonsense. I don’t like PR Balrog or KBrad but they said the same thing. When you watch high level SF5, it boils down to the same thing constantly. This statement has nothing to do with Snakeeyez, Gief, or his tournament performances. This is a sentiment being shared by many in the community and it’s starting to show itself.

Only problem is you also have players who said the opposite and clearly prefer V over IV. Some of these people who were actively playing IV.

This happens with any new game. People complain that the specifics of what made the last game deep are gone. Not that its not deep. SFIVs nuances were what really made SF fun and theres no way SFVs nuances will ever be interesting.

He’s not “technically right”. Anyone who is still playing this game and is not a pro is a direct opposite of that statement.

Kbrad was right all along. Snake eyez is a fraud and he hates the game because it exposes his lack of skills. No more kd into vortex with gief so he’s not winning anymore.

Interestingly enough people said the exact same thing about KBrad’s Cammy. He has to play a more reserved Cammy because dive kicks are toned down. Everybody is more honest now.

Poongko and Kazu also experienced similar hardship with early Cammy, but are now coming together with the prospect that Cammy can just play neutral and be good with that.

It’s a guy used to placing high getting frustrated over not placing as high as he’s used to with the same amount of effort being put in.

I wouldn’t say that makes him a fraud, it just makes him human.

Probably more motivated to play and practice and grind in a game that you like right?

Personally I do better in locals in this than I did in SF4 but I think this game kinda sucks and am ready for it to be over

As your average fighting game playing dude like what are your options??

  1. Leave for some other or old game and be part of some super small community? Frankly not motivated enough to try and blaze a trail for some other less popular game that I might like more
  2. Stop going to locals altogether and give up fighting games, if I really hated the predominant game then I’d do this for sure but it’s not that bad for real
  3. Suck it up and keep going to locals but not be as enthusiastic about practice and shit, basically play more casually, vent on the internet

Big on #3 this time around dudes

It’s a joke also to call Snake a fraud the dude is such a pure fundamentals player that has never relied on gimmicks to propel him to the top, it’s just that his character is bottom tier this time around

I’d say it’s more like SFV just doesn’t enable the same diversity of playstyles previous games did.

I’m surprised, especially since it seems to me that Capcom did a lot to make the SF5 meta close to what Daigo recommended:

SFV is all about play making and pressing buttons. They even added in V-reversals which addresses one of Daigo’s early complaints about the game.
