Thats another drawback Dreamcast had. Using those stupid GD-rom discs.
PS2 uses DVD-ROM, plus you can put a Hard Drive in it and use HDAdvance as well.

You forgot Darkstalkers Collection(JP) for the PS2
Should have been: N64- Crap in a plastic box.
Cause thats all it was. N64 broke me as far as being a nintendo fan goes. Even now today, they still have not done anything worth a crap, still coasting on their PAST successes(past=13+ years ago).
Yay and you can waggle with their new system too! waggles hand
he forgot more than that… as i already corrected him
and stop double posting.
The Dreamcast failed simply because Sega hadn’t a clue as to how to run a business. It had nothing to do with how easy it was to play burned games on it. If that were the issue, then all the record labels and movie studios should have long ago gone out of business.
Anyway, I consider the Dreamcast(like the Saturn) to be much better for its catalog of shmups rather than its fighting games.

Ikaruga and Giga Wing 2 FTW! GOD, I love those games. As a matter of fact, I played Ikaruga about 9 hours ago :lovin: 'tis fucking HARD
Same here. I actually own more Japanese Dreamcast(and Saturn) schmups than I do US Gamecube games.
Ikaruga is certainly challenging the first few times through it, but it’s pretty easy once you memorize the bullet patterns.
Multiquote function. It’s there, junior. Use it and you prevent the below post.
Dude, just let him be. Eventually, he’ll get whats coming to him. The more you ignore him, the more you prevent him from crying in the above post.
I definitely agree with ya there. I always found the Saturn and DC to be the more fun systems out of all of the next gen stuff from last generation. Nothing better than having a challenge and a bit of relief from all of the major guns on the bigger consoles.
Plus, you could build a huge catalogue of games around the Saturn and DC compared to the PS2, Xbox and Gamecube where it becomes more of a “pick your poison” kinda ordeal.
Removed most of the games that weren’t around when the DC was alive.
Edit: To add to the DC list, Tech Romancer, VF3, Plasma Sword etc.
Edit 2: Fighting Vipers 2, JOJO’S BIZARRE ADVENTURE…
Where does this “DC had crappy KOF ports” bullshit come from?! - the DC KOF ports were dead on and BETTER in someways.
SC1 a “crappy game” - WTF SC1 was DC’s first Killer App!!!, that damned thing sold DC’s left and right!!!
Kids man, Kids…
The only game that got REALLY fucked up was 3s and ONLY sounds wise was LB2 fucked up and that was ONLY if you had the Burn of it, MOTW’s sound was truly fucked either way.
The Dreamcast…

So who really is the “King of Fighters”?:wonder:
Damn i sure did miss alot of the fighting games, but i did make the list in a hurry too.
And I cant really say if DBZ Tenkaichi is a real fighting game cause of the fact that I see the game more of like an action type game. All games on all platform includes both japan and usa. Reason why PS1 and PS2 should be included in the line up? Beause PS3 is backward playable with those 2 consoles.:looney:
The fact that you include the vs. ports on the PSX makes me want to kill you. Those really wouldn’t count considering they were horrible and the DC and Saturn versions > PSX versions.
Plus, a lot of the PS2’s fighting game library didn’t really happen until AFTER the DC died out. It was more or less a whole “Well, the DC is dead. Might as well give the PS2 owners something as well” kinda ordeal.
Ummm…no. The PS2 was always affordable too. What the fuck are you talking about that it was the poor man’s King of Fighters? That console itself MADE the PS2 and all future consoles what they are.
Also, the PS2 is pretty damn cheap now, too. So, yeah. Your point is pretty moot actually.
What are you talking about “can’t afford a little more?” Everyone on this site owns both. So, what are you getting at exactly?
By the way, you spelled ‘stubborn’ wrong.
Just because the PS2 has a long ass list of games, doesn’t mean they’re all good…
Yeah…
Tekken 4 & 5
Soul Calibur 2 & 3
SF:Alpha Althology
KOF XI
CCC1 & 2
Etc.
Etc.
Yup your right, even though PS2 has those games and DC does not, it does not matter because they suck, eh?
RAWNG!
Axes > Swords.
Swords < Lances.
Lances < Axes.
Ken’s Shoryuken < Gen’s normal kick length.
Great points here as the dead horse beatings continue. And the neggs come out of the wood work to start the fight.
Quantity loses to Quality here and on any system. Leave it to the worst 2k6ers to bust out the chocolate intolerant remarks in a console thread. Only a REAL dumbass could call a fan supported system obsolete. If Namco wanted to, they would’ve thrown Tekken there. If Capcom wanted to, we’d see SF IIX Network Battle in NA. It just didn’t sell as well as SEGA planned DURING the 6th generation. Doesn’t mean that anyone with a PS2 ignores it either.

As you can see most of the PS2’s fighters are either crap or a crap port… Not forgetting the fact that the Dreamcast is a Naiomi GD-ROM with half the RAM, I know where my vote is… I couldn’t be bothered to do the rest as they’re mostly… Crap…
The JoJo port for PSX is a horrible port, the DC version is the best one to get for actually learning the game. I doubt a JoJo port will go to PS2 also since it’s a pretty somewhat old game now and no one really plays it as much.
What, you think no one here can afford that? There are people here that got PS3s on launch day. $200+ is a joke.
I’m sorry, the Dreamcast had online play? You don’t say! And every system followed suit afterwards. Sega set the trends, son. Get that shit right.
Because the Dreamcast had much more quality games for it. Not as much as the wonderful rehash market of the PS2. I get more fun out of my Saturn and my Dreamcast. The PS2 had it’s fair share of games. But, none of them equate to hours of fun.
The Dreamcast had SC1 and SFA3. Sooooo…And to make mention of those games KNOWING that the system has no games being developed is a pretty stupid thing to mention. We’re mainly referring to the list TS made. The fighters AVAILABLE AT THE TIME the Dreamcast was alive and well. The PS2 didn’t have much going for it in terms of fighters. Albeit, crappy ports, but still. More than what the PS2 had.
Because the PS2 is still alive. And at the time Sony was buying up everyone. It’s more of a business thing if you look in retrospect. Sega failed on that part. Still didn’t mean that they didn’t get some of the greatest games around. Each console had their mishaps.
