I think one of the major issues is the head of Sega is the head of this thing. Bamco and Capcom are also directly involved in the company.

Now say there is a burgeoning FGC game and a scene created by a company these games are competing with. There is an opportunity for this organization to not allow players to be considered professional in that game etc.

They get to choose which games can be considered ‘professional’.

I will take secondary V-Skills if it means Sakura gets something better… because if you are the character that has Sakura’s V-Skill there really is nowhere else to go but up, if you go down even more after that then there is no hope for you lol

Sakura’s v-skill is completely useless to build v-gauge. I have no idea how the hell they came up with that idea for her.

We don’t need more V-Skills when so many of the ones we have are ass cheeks. It’ll just end up the same as most VT’s where only one is selected because the other one can’t compete. There is a gargantuan gap between your Balrogs and your Saks of the game.

Exactly. The act of adding more v-skills is paper to cover the cracks of characters with bad v-skills. You give Ryu a second V skill, you’ll just play 98% Ryus that now use Vskill 2.

I’d rather something more dynamic , like a way to spend 2 bars that extends damage or something the like, let me have choices.

As you said I’d like some other meter options like two bar EX moves, which was something Capcom played with in SF4 Omega mode.

But mainly I’d like two see a bit of mixing between the two separate meters. EX VSkills that build way more red meter, EX VR’s that are maybe full invincible or do real damage, etc.

If we must get another 2nd version of a mechanic, I’d prefer everyone get a 2nd VR so everyone has a counter attack and a dodge option.

While I’m the last post and laundry listing changes: I’d like to see more EX versions of the utility/non damage special moves. Let Juri get an EX Store, give Zeku and Vega EX stance switches, etc.

Unrelated: It just occurred to me that Lucia shares certain elements with Ken (run/flame kicks), but she also has a remix of his kick hados from omega mode.

I’d love vtriggers to be a bit crazier, like one vtrigger would have a flame aura around dhalsim, another vtrigger would pump chun li’s damage,etc.

Nah i want characters to be more robust outside of VT. Many SFV characters are basically vanilla starfish sex until your character gets worn down and goes “wild” by giving you a (subpar) blowjob.

If you’re lucky and play one of the top 5 you may get an anal tier VT

Not many v triggers build v gauge which is a pretty big design flaw. At least not practically.

If Sagats scar built meter on activation for example it could become a part of his gameplan to go for Scar stacks instead of meaty pressure if you wanted.

…but that would like…make players unique. None of that silliness at Costume City.

At this point i dont expect anything that really changes the game too much.
If they are really going to add newe mechanics it wouldnt be anything crazy.
It would be basically more of the same.

In fact i expect the chars that have useless VS to get new useless VS, liuke Mika, since she has a VS that tanks a hit, she will probably get a new VS that gives here some sort of mobility option like a roll.
And Sakura will get something crappy like an attack that has armor for one hit.
They will give the opposite of what the char has and it will be meh.

We already have that, and it sucks

And this is why i would love for ASW to give BattleFantasia another chance.
That game is what i would have loved for SFV to be.
Unique chars with unique abbilities that futher compliment their playstyle with mechanics that make sense and are well thought.

Too bad that the netcode sucks monkey balls so playing it online is not an option.

I’d like to see additional v skills more than 2 ex bars specials or new ca’s so long as they’d fulfill the purpose off adding a tool that plug’s the gap for each char, for some it may not, but just replace a almost useless trigger which i see as nothing but positive anyway, we’d also naturally see new combos being introduced or even new specials to make the v skill work. Problem with having two bar specials is that they would for the most part amount to a just beefing up a move that already exists.
It wouldn’t necessarily address the specific flaws that cause one char to struggle against some functions.
If zangief has a v skill that lets him get past fireballs, it’d be covering a weakness. Or ed has a way of converting something in the mid range ( say the ability to cancel from his pokes), such a added tool would make ed a lot stronger in the footsie game, or let him get reward from a defensive playstyle.
There’s also the difficulty of balancing two bar ex moves, some ex moves are already strong as it’s. Rashid’s ex whirlwind, urien’s ex tackle, zangief’s ex spd, honda ex buttslam. Question is how could you make these moves stronger without further eroding the neutral game.
