I thought of shuma with beam assist, been playing a team of Wright/Chris/Raccoon but while the team has good synergy its too…zonish for me. Dante is using weasle shot since Jam session does the same thing as lariat. Been playing around with strange,ammy,arthur,hawkeye and Raccoon.

When UMVC3 came out…I had no fighting experience WHAT so ever(and I still don’t Woo for online!)…this game is the first I want to take seriously :D. As for Doom I like him and his assists, but just feels like Wright/Haggar/Doom can be beat by a heavily zoning team. Tho I’ve been playing around with Wright/Haggar/Raccon with log trap assist.

I see, while it’s true Wright/Haggar/Doom (or Sentinel) will lose to heavy zoning the beam/drones should make it easier for Wright and Haggar to approach in general. But um I guess go with w/e team you’re comfortable with and which team helps you’re gameplan the most. It’s such a shame that Wright doesn’t have any good neutral game assist, I would’ve loved it if he had a present evidence assist.

You can do it, I’m sure you’ll find a team that you like and win with it.

I agree but I would still use Missile since it hits low and otgs XD and thanks. I’m in a fight between using anchor raccoon with log trap assist since it gives me a good thc and a wall bounce assist since Haggar and Wright don’t need a wall bounce. I’m also looking for people to play online(I know it sucks)

I’ve recently started to pick up the team wright doom akuma, So just wondering how you guys feel about the assist choice with wright?

I have been trying modok/wright/Vergil and I am impressed with the team. In the corner with modok I can setup an unbkockabke with PW missile assist which is pretty awesome. If they roll forward there is another modok unblockable setup but its kind of difficult to time

Is there a standard go to bnb that u guys prefer when in investigation mode? I’m getting a lot of stray hits but don’t know how to maximize damage. Additionally in turn about mode I can’t seem to get the timing for the mm d+h h loop. Hints? Character is very amusing

The mm part of the loop: Try to align the first j.m with the opponent’s face, then just chain the second j.m.

h, d+h: It’s h d+h, not the other way around. The finger has to hit the opponent somewhere in the middle (near their waist). As for the d+h timing, just cancel immediately after the finger hits and it should hit.

The second rep of the loop has to be done earlier than the first.

I’m thinking of using PW / V.Joe / RR. As for assist, I’m not sure, probably PtW / Bomb / Log. It could probably be in the order of V.Joe / PW / RR. What do you think about this? I’m still not sure what I should be using for a PW team.

Like I said Missile assist for Wright can benefit Joe. Generally for a wright team you either want two good assists to back him up or someone in front who can kill easily to dhc into wright for evidence gathering.

Tbh Joe’s not entirely the best for this but you can still make it work. His triple jump can avoid getting grabbed at the start of the match, and charged voom to tag can help partners. My wright team is joe/wright/dorm. When an opening there I charged voom tag to dorm, teleport mixup and if I get the hit, knockdown into unblockable setup with Missle assist. It kills ppl with 1mil health and from there I can dhc and start Wright’s game. From there the order is Wright/Dorm so I have a safe dhc just in case.

You can make a similar gameplan with RR. Left/right teleport mixups and hig/lows all day. That and Wright/Coon is pretty safe dhc

I’m thinking of making a new PW team. Vergil/PW/Dr. Doom. Vergil has some technology with Get em Missile.

I think you’d be better off with Dante (Jam Session) than Doom if you plan on playing Wright/Vergil. Both of those characters can use Get em Missile effectively and work as a shell should your Wright plan fail. Plus the DHCs and THCs with both of them are good.

I actually played Dante/PW/Vergil in the past, a few months after UMvC3 came out. I’m not willing to drop Dante but, I’ll use him for my Morrigan/Doom team. I just don’t like playing anchor Vergil. Makes me feel dumb and bad. Point Vergil is interesting and I’m finding potential tech with Vergil/PW. Also Doom missiles.

I saw something pretty interesting recently with a player using V.Joe/PW/Task where he does a combo with Joe to get Sloooow on the opponent, and from there, while you could go for reset to kill the character, he would use that time to tag in Wright to start looking for evidence. Might be a little risky cause Joe can die, but I thought it was interesting.

Been playing around with Wright(Missile)/Dante(Jam session)/Strange(Bolts) and I am liking it, strange gives me a easy objection by impact palming then hard tagging into Wright then using maya smelting in the corner OR if I am not in the corner then St.H into light bulb. Now I just need to learn strange flame loop combos. It’s more of a zoneish team tho.

Hmmm I never thought of that. Most people when they get slowed they hard tag or they run away. Perfect time to get evidence. I have a way to hard tag and make sure I don’t get blown up, so this may work out.

So I started messing around with PW / Joe / RR, and I was having a bit of a hard time. I could play Joe / PW / RR, but the risk is kind of high where if Joe dies, then I’ll be left with pretty much RR.

That being said, I’ve been losing to crazy rushdown. Characters like Felicia or Mags never lets me breathe long enough to throw out a Maya shield. Backed with H.Arrows, or Missiles, even if Maya comes out, it doesn’t quite matter much because she’s going to run out, and I’m going to be eating some crazy pressure again. I feel super unsafe throwing out an assist at this point too. What do you guys do against stupid rushdown? How do you get the space to call out maya shield?

Depending on how hard the opponent is applying pressure, I really like to abuse jump back Hold It against rushdown. I think it is pretty underrated as the hitbox is quite big and it easily stops obvious jump ins and ground approaches. There is a bit of landing lag, so if you guess wrong you could get punished, but if you are jumping back it is difficult to do so because the hitbox will protect you as you move away. Jump back S can also be used in a similar fashion, the tradeoff is a smaller hitbox vs a faster attack without landing lag. You run RR so I assume you have log trap assist. If you time a call for the log to combo out of the Hold It, you will push them full screen away which should help you out. Another thing that admittedly is kind of advanced and pretty hard for new Wright players, is if you learn how to plink Maya with evidence search that will help too. Wright goes lower to the ground when he is picking up evidence so your hurtbox is smaller and he recovers faster this way so you may have a bit more time to grab your opponent or throw out a few normals while Maya is protecting you. Also, the Maya H slide can be used instead of shield. The attack is impossible to stop so your opponent will need to either block, dash away to avoid it, or get hit. Another thing I like to do if I get a moment is to switch to Trial mode so I have access to paperwork and order in the court. If the opponent attacks, you can throw out papers and combo immediately into Order in the Court for good damage and if you want you can X-Factor to extend the combo further. As for Skrull, he does indeed lol. Skrull is widely regarded as Wright’s worst matchup. Due to the long range command grab and Wright’s lack of mobility, Wright is stuck in a constant 50/50 mixup being should I stay grounded or should I jump. The best advice I can suggest for this is to just predict which command grab Skrull will go for, jump forward or dash forward, pray you guessed right, and try to punish the recovery if possible. In reality, you are best off just switching out if you get the chance.

Can I get a survey of the possible PW teams that you all are playing? I’m currently playing PW/VJ/RR and I’m not really feeling the synergy. I need some ideas.

I’ve played PW/VJ/Vergil since day 1. It’s not optimal at all, but you asked for a poll not good teams. I also play Hulk/PW/RR sometimes. It’s a much better theory team, but I get worse results than my main PW team.
