Ideas help, old DC Agetec for xb1, keeping stereo headset?

I picked up an xb1 about 3 weeks ago and found out my 360 sticks wont work. I have a DC Agetec with a cheapo used 360 controller in it, and a Mad Catz TE.
The wife decided to get the MK X Kollectors edition so now I have to make a stick work.

Thats pretty much what I’m working with.

Also in my defense, I have gotten much better than that, 360 mods and trace repairs.

I recently got the Stereo headset and would like to keep working with that and it adds a little more depth and complexity to the project.
Any one have suggestions? I received a Dremel for xmas with nothing to use it on. I had needed one initially to widen the button holes.
I figure I can cut out the bottom of the controller with the port and line up for the headset and put that around the VMU area. The Vmu is in there, but its not connected to anything.
In my stupidity I had cut up and chopped all the wiring for the connector, in retrospect later on after learning more, would have liked it to provide power and make the vmu beep or something inane.

Im guessing for the actual headset plug I would need to desolder the existing connect and mount it somehow higher up and bridge with wires, or somehow mount the controller itself, bottom up and have it connect straight in.

Sorry for my rambling. I haven’t had a decent project in a while and get carried away.

Assuming MK X is even plausible with 6 buttons as the Fight Pad I saw has 8 on the face.

In which case I may want to have some stereo headset ideas in the event I decent to try and make something for the TE stick. I would want to have minimal damage there, so maybe a ribbon hanging out with the connector. Anyone have guides or specs on that headset connector?

If its too much work, I can skip that, but it would be fun to have it in.

You are making it too hard. Just keep the headset adapter in the case and connect your headset via an extension cable. All that requires is drilling one hole.

Currently I had the hole that I chopped some out using the extension from Rock Band.
Whats the preferred way then to extend the headset since it doesnt have a standard 3.55mm jack? gut out the headset it comes with?

It uses 2.5 mm jack, the same as cell phones. You can get a cheap one off amazon or monoprice.

No, going to mod this for XB1. Thats got the totally different connector.
Thats why I was looking to mount it up at the top somehow or desolder the connector and wire it with a ribbon cable or something and find a way to mount it somewhere else for the stereo adapter.

My adapter came with a 2.5mm to 3.5 mm adapater. This lets you get in game chat but not the audio. That is why I mentioned it. http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/accessories/connect-compatible-headset

Here what I found on Google

Thanks, I found those as well. The concern I have those is if I have the adapter/button portion still hidden away in the controller then I cant adjust the volumes.
Optimally I’m looking into how to extend that custom connector so I can plug adapters in externally. If I opt for a regular headset or stereo, I can adjust volumes as needed and the game/chat balance.
