6 new characters (Completely new or successors) And as a personal request, Ingrid Which brings us a roster of 35 fighters.
Mechanics
Someone earlier suggested we keep things simple; No Ultras, just Ex’s and Supers (like Vampire Savior)
For throws, really doesn’t matter, but I would like it to be alpha style (PP/KK instead of PK) so fighters would have two kinds of throws, for flair.
No focus attacks; we didn’t need it back then, we don’t need it for SF 5.
I’m not gonna go into the deep fundamentals, let others do that.
Art Style/Graphics
Lets go back to 2D, learn from games like Guilty Gear/Blazblue, Skullgirls, KOF, and make things look nice and pretty in HD. Going into the look of the fighters, I would like to see something similar to Alpha (I’ll be honest, I did not like SF 4’s art style, everyone looked kinda…ugh…)
What Else
Another personal request, have the stages/BGM be from the original games, and have Capcom pull a KOF and have the rest of the SF Universe hang out in the background, watching the fight.
Wait… where’s my nigga Abel and Seth at?! THEY WERE SF4… I think all SF4 only character are obvious choices to be on SF5. I mean… its the continuation… It’s like saying making a SF game without Ryu. Come on man. -_-
Make it absolutely nothing like SF4, and scrap the entire roster except for Ryu, Ken, and maybe Chun Li. I don’t feel like playing the same 12 characters for another 10+ years.
Just make a prequel with young Gouken and young Gouki, they will be the Ryu and Ken of the game lol. Gen with no cancer and more murderous, middle aged Oro, Bison in his original body… Go Hibiki maybe? whatever… Just as long as the game is somewhat faster and no measly damage. If they decide to bring parry back make fireballs non parryable.
Well… I’ll actually be okay with “Gouken” Ryu, “older & serious” Ken, and “GMILF” Chun-Li.
With Sakura, Sean/Ken’s son and Chun-Li’s adoptive daughter as the new trio leading for SF6.
I don’t know about the rest. (Oh, oh. Make Guile’s daughter a sexy hybrid of Viper & Charlie)
well you can whiff parries already, it’s just not obvious to people watching sometimes
I guess having a parry button and a whiff animation would prevent you from buffering parry/OS parry stuff but I dunno that it’s actually a huge problem in 3s. buffering parry before a move sounds awful and game breaking in theory fighter but in practice it isn’t tragic.
apart from all the gameplay, I would like an actual story mode. Like atleast cutscenes about a tournament or something, not just fight after fight then seth. You know just for the new casual players to have a reason to pick it up. Also I would like to see Yun and Yang just because they are my favorite characters haha. Akuma too but I doubt I would have to mention him.
I know they will never get rid of the original cast (though they really should), they could at least expand on their gameplay. Imo SF4 would have been so much better if the roster consisted entirely of characters like yun, yang, juri, viper, rufus, etc.
Get rid of easy mode OS garbage. Seriously the mixup in SF4 was dumb downed enough in a game that is plagued with reversal heavy characters, why they would put an OS throw in such a game boggles my mind.
No ultras…absolutely terrible idea, enough said.

FADC’s (or whatever they decide to call it in SF5) should require less meter, assuming that the offensive game is as slow and limited as it was in SF4.
Go back to 2D, the animation looks so much better.
I know, I just feel like it’s the next logical step. I realize they had to go that route with SF4 to recapture people’s interest, but doing it all over again just seems like a missed opportunity and a rather dull approach. Maybe not axe that many, but definitely something around the 50-60% range. I just feel that if they don’t then there isn’t going to be a pool of new characters to pull from down the road. I mean over time a good portion of the SF3 cast became pretty popular and were used as welcome additions in current fighters.
Kinda unrelated, but I think they need to do this with the next MK as well. Do what MK3 did, then do an ultimate version again and add a handful of the old roster back in, but only after the new faces have time to settle in with fans.
No more fucking auto correct reversals!! Nothing in all the game is as rage inducing as having your opponenet mash… and not only mash but mash in the completely wrong direction (b/c they have no fucking clue you are about to cross them up) and then being hit by the attack they were mindlessly mashing in the wrong direction. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO scrub tastic.
Bring back parry… but find a way to make it not as broken. Like maybe have it act like focus attack where you take recoverable damage… shit even limit it to a single hit like focus attack… but fuck focus attack. Shit is stupid.
Also forget having ultra meter as a “revenge gauge”. You don’t deserve a reward for getting the shit kicked out of you for the first half of the round… and then be given an instant comeback mechanic. Pretty sure damn near everyone hates that.
Rollback netcode
Input buffers so no punish requires less than say a 3f input window (hate me SRK)
No close/far normals (again, bring on the hate)
Jump attacks weaker to promote people playing a ground game
No specials which have limited/no use outside of combos
Make overheads more threatening than lows
Roll on wakeup just like SFxT (this is your favourite list about now, right?)
No hold button down moves, Zonk etc. No stupid hold 2 buttons and dash moves either
Fuck divekicks right in the bin (also, get rid of Rufus, no one likes him NO ONE)
2D
Darker artstyle/less goofyness
Better UX/menu system
Bitch at MS/Sony for more advanced online matchmaking (i.e search for low latency only)
‘Random’ block in training mode behaves like a real opponent and doesn’t drop its guard mid combo
A proper tutorial mode like Skullgirls which lets you practice agaist mixups etc. (no stupid trial mode)
No custom colours/costumes
Definitely bring back Focus attacks and FADCs, because theyre alot of fun. Also bring back parries because theyre mad fun too. Focus can be parried except for lvl 3 focus. Also a choice of super like SSF4 as opposed to SF4. Or maybe have 2 or 3 supers available during the match like marvel, where u dont have to choose and can decide on the fly during the fight. That would make having meter very scary and exciting. It would also make not thinking n not being careful very bad ideas. And add more trials that can actually be done during a match as well as trials that are unfeasable, using 5 bars and whatnot. Maybe split trials up into 2 catagories to do it. That would add another option to the menu and thats always good.
Also, for abunch of guys who complian about nerfs how about you focus more on ideas instead of what you dont wannna see. Buff the weak, dont nerf the strong.
Bring back all the characters from the previous games, maybe Ingrid and Poison too. Kinda like MK Armageddon, minus the fail. (Although Zombie Liu Kang was awesome… maybe we could have Zombie Charlie?) KOF has dream matches, why can’t we? Plus, I’d love to see how some of the cast from SF1 would be when made into playable characters.
Mechanics wise, don’t care, as long as the game is solid.
And bring back things like Dramatic Battle and whatnot. And survival mode, because WHY HAS SURVIVAL MODE VANISHED OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH?!?! T_T
