Yeah imagine that it didn’t turn into what everyone is expecting like KI, instead it became more like “SF4 Arena” or Marvel Contest of the Champion that is worst than Injustice mobile.
People suddenly treated as “subscribers” because majority of engaging mode and content is now turned and treated as “service” that now require monthly and annual payments for the mode not to expire be cut down from the service provided because of the maintenance of the services. It’s like an additional to your monthly consumer bill.
Then adding a energy bar that depletes for every match and regenerate for a certain period for not engaging a match. SFV’s UX structure is partly already like a freemium app by design like the previous comments already pointed out.
So from the ways and priority of SFV’s build there is a possibility that they won’t hesitate with the expiring content and energy bar usage, because even a color were consider now a motivational reward.
The worst part is removing the capabilities to select/choose a character DLC purchase subcription and replace it with a “Skinner Ware” transaction representation… that would make everyone hate it even with a single free daily access to the Skinner Ware opportunity.
