Just throwing this out there because I had an idea one evening.
Overview
- 10 initial participants
- Players are divided into at least two teams each episode
- Teams will first compete in a non-game section for an advantage in the game section
- Team then competes in UMvC3 using special rules
- Losing teams eliminates a team member by vote
- Teams will be rebalanced if one team has two more players than the other team
- Players are to be eliminated each episode until there are three players left
- The final 3 players will compete against each other individually
Examples for non-game Section
- Quiz [@ Whens Mahvel?]
- Test players’ knowledge about Marvel and Capcom universe (may include characters not in the game)
- Question is asked and whichever team that answers correctly get a point
- The other team can attempt to answer if the first team answers incorrectly
- First team to get 5 correct wins
- Charades [@ Jean!!!]
- Each team will take turns to play 3 rounds of charades based on Marvel and Capcom characters (may include characters not in the game)
- Team with the most correct guesses in the end wins.
- Darts [@ Bullet Hell]
- Use the UMvC3 character select as a dart board
- Each player is given a total of 3 darts
- Points are given based on the character’s life totals
- The team with the highest accumulated points win
- Rock/Paper/Scissors [@ Random]
- Each team compete in best of 3 Rock/Paper/Scissors Pokemon style
- The team that beats all of the other team’s players wins
- Ping Pong [@ Bionic Arm!!!]
- Each team will compete in singles ping pong Pokemon style
- Each player must call out the real name of a special move in UMvC3 while hitting the ball
- The same special move cannot be called out more than once
- The player that doesn’t call out the right move or fails to hit the ball back to the opponent loses
- The team that beats all of the other team’s players wins

- Marvel VS Capcom
- Team with the advantage gets to decide on whether Marvel or Capcom characters only
- If the first team picks one side, the other team must pick the other side
- Players on the same team cannot use the same character*
- Teams play against each other Pokemon style
- The team that beats all of the other team’s players wins
- Captains Mode
- Team with the advantage gets to choose whether to go first or second
- Teams take turns to ban and pick characters until each team has 15 characters.**
- Players on the same team cannot use the same character
- Teams play against each other Pokemon style
- The team that beats all of the other team’s players wins
- Captains Draft
- Team with the advantage gets to choose whether to go first or second
- Each team bans 2 characters first and then take turn to pick characters until each team has 15 characters
- Players on the same team cannot use the same character
- Teams play against each other Pokemon style
- The team that beats all of the other team’s players wins
- Pick a Top Tier
- Team with the advantage gets to choose whether to go first or second
- Each team take turns to pick predetermined UMvC3 teams based on top players
- Players on the same team cannot use same predetermined team
- Teams play against each other Pokemon style
- The team that beats all of the other team’s players wins
- DLC Costume Pack
- Team with the advantage gets to choose whether to go first or second
- Each team take turns to pick UMvC3 teams based on DLC costume packs
- Players must use alternate costomes
- Players on the same team cannot use same predetermined team
- Teams play against each other Pokemon style
- The team that beats all of the other team’s players wins
- CvS Points System
- Each character is assigned specific points
- Each team must select 15 characters where the total points do not exceed a limit.
- The team with the advantage has a higher limit.
- Players on the same team cannot use the same character
- Teams play against each other Pokemon style
- The team that beats all of the other team’s players wins
- Ban Vergil and Friends
- Each team bans 5 characters each.
- The team with the advantage gets to unban a character and ban another character.
- Players on the same team cannot use the same character
- Teams play against each other Pokemon style
- The team that beats all of the other team’s players wins
- All Pick
- The remaining 3 players play in a best out of 5 double elimination tournament
- The player with the advantage gets a bye in the first round
- Players can pick any characters
- The last player remaining wins
Notes:
*Players in the same team are not allowed to use to same characters to encourage teamwork and creativity.
**15 characters = enough characters for each player to form a UMvC3 team.
Random character select and certain handicaps are not included to minimize scrub-like gameplay.
