I dunno, do something during the pause then? Like whiff st.MP or walk forward, then jump.
What does this even mean?

He’s talking abour empty neckbreakers.
The idea is, never do them.Use a neckbreaker in a combo.
is there a safe meaty kunai setup that makes deejays ex up kicks whiff?
Yea thats what i ment sorry. And thanks for the help
This might be listed somewhere if you don’t want to write an explanation just point me to the thread and I’ll search it myself but what is the exact set up off neckbreaker to get jump forward to cross up on shoto and similar size hitbox characters?
This isn’t possible unless you walk back and super-jump. I’ll try to make a small clip of it, but you basically want to walk back for a couple of frames.

Cheers, I knew you’d have to super jump I’ve just been trying to get it since I saw an Ibuki using it at a tourney the weekend just gone but I just kept whiffing it. I see its a fake safe jump though and a true one. Ah well I’ll get it down first then just see if I punished for it a lot, thanks a lot and also nice to put a video tutorial up… props
It should work wonders online; I mean, I’ve gotten up a 97 win-streak just mixing up EX Neckbeaker -> Unlockable, and Neckbreaker -> j.LK. It seems that if an opponent blocks a cross-up (and they’re not very good), they think everything is one.
Wish you luck!
How is this setup not a good idea? Yes Ryu can “autocorrect” (not really autocorrect, more like dp trade actually) but he’s taking a huge risk in doing so. He is only really rewarded if he has meter/ultra stocked, plus he has to be looking for a trade. If you are mixing up your vortex (which you should) then the risk/reward is well in Ibuki’s favor.
i was lookin thru the matchup thread and i saw someone mention an unblockable setup after an ex neckbreaker and i would appreciate it if someone told me how to do it, or show me where it is in the forum.
thnx in advance

Point taken lol. Works wonders on pretty much every other character.
My question might sound a little controversial, but I’ll ask anyway: Being a PC player who plays this game on a keyboard, is it reasonable for me to play Ibuki? I’m not saying “Should I main her or not?”, I love her too much to even hint at that kind of a question, but I’m just curious about my chances of being any better with her, really. I’d like to hear other people’s opinions.
Before you answer, a couple things I need to say:
-I mained Akuma before we got AE on PC, no problems with his stuff whatsoever concerning the controller used. Excluding my endless consistency issues, but that’s just me.
-I won’t buy an arcade stick nor a console. They’re just not at the top of my priorities’ list.
-Tsumuji loops aren’t really a problem in training mode. Practical use online still sucks (getting blocked = too slow), but I’m getting there. BUT I horribly suck at SJC into…anything.
-There’s no arcades around here. I’m playing Online only. No issues with that, so there’s no need to get into a offline vs online argument.
Out of all the stuff, I really hate myself not being able to SJC U2 the most. So I guess part of the question is if there are any madmen out there who main her on a keyboard and do that stuff. Consistently. Or, as I said earlier, is it reasonable to play Ibuki without all her SJC mindgames? I will keep trying nontheless, but thanks for any input. =)
i cant use SJC consistenly so i just use U1.
U1 is awsum. got used to strict inputs alrdy.
Why can’t you afford a pad or stick? One investment into a decent controller and it’s pretty much going to last you almost forever.
If you must play keyboard, make sure you your keyboard can accept multiple inputs. In other words, make sure you can do what you need to do like down back + crouch tech.
If keyboard is most familiar to you, then by all means, stay with it. But I don’t think mastering SJC or plinking or pianoing or any other execution techniques will be very easy on it, compared to pad or stick.
To add to what he says, make sure your Keyboard uses [USB] and not [PS/2].
I don’t think SJC is important at all. It gets you that little extra damage, and a cool reset, but the majority of a match comes down to ‘first attacks’ and mistakes/guesses.
We could play on AE PC, and I’ll play without SJCs (which tbh is pretty hard on a keyboard), and it’d still be GGs.
I can afford a stick, but I don’t like the pricing, concerning my needs. Ranging from $150 to $350, that’s just too much for a controller. Especially if I’m alright with the keyboard on most of the cast (don’t like grapplers, Juri is too simple for my taste). Akuma, Chun-li, Cody…those that I play I have no problems with. It’s just Ibuki and her SJC…for that thing only, I don’t need a stick. Yes, it improves one’s execution, but I don’t plan on being some pro - as I said, we don’t have arcades, why spend so much money when there’s no scene? It’s almost half my monthly salary, lol. Oh and please, no talk about creating local scenes, I’ve seen like 4 players from our country play this game since first Vanilla days. 4! How sad is that? ;D
Crouch tech is doable on this piece of plastic, no worries there…pianoing is easy too. Plinks are counter-productive on the small keys, but I can cope without them.
Somebody still uses PS/2 in this age? Not trying to make fun of you, just found that funny. =))
So basically, it’s as I thought; Ibuki’s doable without her SJC shenanigans. It’s just that the gameplay ain’t as “flashy” to please the crowd. That seems like a good deal to me. Thanks for the input, guys. Much appreciated <3
You can usually get a used TE for about 100 bucks. Any sort of decent pad such as the madcatz pad or ps3 controller will only cost like 35 bucks on sale. You only make $300 a month? Do you work at like mcdonalds or something? lol
USB or PS/2, doesn’t matter. Adapters solve that problem.
You can surely play a basic Ibuki and do well, but eventually when you want to master Ibuki, you’ll need to be able to pull off everything she’s capable of.
lol yeah, some people actually don’t upgrade their Keyboards with other components. LIke they become attached or something.
SJC into Ultra is unimportant, and her Ageman anti-air doesn’t require an SJC. The only think you’d need it for is cl.st.HK x2 into cr.HP, which is generally only ever used (in high level player) after Stun as a flashy reset. You can just so cl.st.hk into cr.HP with SJC.
lol before I get hated for my post: Iyo brings U1 to the vast majority of his matches, and never SJCs into it. Also, I’ve never seen him do SJCs from an anti-air. Neither does he go for Tsumuji Loops.
