Ibuki Q&A Thread: Ask simple questions here!

EX radia beats pokes, think thats bad try it vs full screen dhalsim limbs.

I have a couple questions myself

Im starting to think ultra 1 is the ultra i should use in stead of u2
When i land u2 its usally off a combo and the scaling makes it so that just a special would probaly do as much damage
eg cross up [s lp s mp s hp] u2 or cr lp cr lp [s lk s mk]
U1 does 510 and if used correct is a low risk high reward ultra.
What do you think?
2)
What combo should i use for a crossover(not taken into account the weird hitbox characters)?
j lk s mp s lp s mk special
j lk [s lp s mp s hp] special
j lk cr lp cr lp cr lk special
other

Am i seeing things or do you need a different timing for each character when using the kunai vortex.
on certain characters i always miss and on other i have 100% succes rate

4)what do you think from airthrow as anti air?

What is DPM+punch uses ? i can’t really find a good use of it.

Oh, and can anyone post an explanation for all Ibuki’s moves like: raida beats throws, EX neckbreaker is invincible to fireballs…etc. I know some properties but I’m not sure i know enough to post

it’s depend in matchup plus that u1 isn’t that safe in general the opp can jump and do +500 combo (( if he jumped not blocked )) but i too think that u1 is better not cuz for the damage scale if i combo u2 but cuz the weird hit box of lp.mp,hp that doesn’t make it connect in all chars it ((to me the best hit confirm combo to u2 ))

I like u1 because a lot of things aren’t safe anymore once you’ve got it stocked.

EDIT: How many frames is the HP after target combo to s.LP? I know s.LP to S.MK is 3 frames which is why it’s easy.

I need to know if there is anyway out of this setup, or am I just gonna get ultra’d if Ibuki starts to vortex me at the end of the game?
The setup I’m talking about is in the last round, its how she sets up here ultra.

Don’t press any buttons and neutral jump and punish on the way down :stuck_out_tongue:

can you neutra jump it on reaction, or do i have to guess? and I wasn’t pressing any buttons…

Yea a neutral jump or a teleport i think, maybe a backdash(you would still take damage but only like 200ish i think)

Ok so i was messing around in trial mode, and i finally got to 24. I entered it thinking i wasn’t going to get it done (and I didn’t) but I actually pulled of a sjc into ultra from s.lk - s.mk. I did it a couple more times then went into training. I did it a few more times in there to. I pull it off about 30% of the time, and it’s really frustrating. Sometimes I’ll get a dragon kick instead of the ultra, other times I’ll get the command dash. I was looking at the inputs and they seemed correct. I know i asked before but isn’t it
s.lk - qcf - s.mk - qcf - up forward - all three kicks?
I swear thats what I’m doing, it even says that. Also does it matter if its db before, and uf after i do the first qcf, or can it just be qcf?? I broke down the combos. After the first part ~s.lk - qcf - s.mk~ ibuki super jumps after. Does that mean im doing it right and should just add another qcf/uf all three kicks, then it will come out? I do not get her to super jump after practicing that part of the combo all the time, is that why I am sometimes getting a dragon kick?

If your using a stick, stop doing QCF, it’s extra inputs you dont need, just do D,f,d,f,uf kkk

i am using a stick. And can you include the kick buttons because that’s a little confusing. s.lk d,f s.mk d,f,uf kkk??

A little faster then that actually,be doing s,lk d,f,d mk,f,uf kkk

since theres a normal jump cancel and a super jump cancel how do i know if im doing a super jump cancel during the st,lp st,mp,cr,hk,hk combo if i see myself jump with them is that a normal jump cancel or is that considered a sjc

If she does a super jump, she yells out “AHHH!”

i know that but is it possible that im just doing a normal jump cancel because i cant really tell because she yells before that from the other hits

Yeah, can someone answer this question for me please since my question seems to have been left in the dust.

EDIT: Whats your opinions on how easy Ibuki is to use. Lately people have been saying shes easy and no work is needed etc. due to her high damage and stun. I don’t know what to think and I would like some opinions.

I can’t seem to find the timing for TK Kunai. I know the motion and everything, but if I do it too slowly, raida comes out, if I do it “too fast” I just get the SJ. Can anyone describe the timing for me?

Strategy

I have a question I have been unable to solve for a long time. My roommate plays Ken and even though he never practices he usually beats me around 7-3. I would say his style is kamikaze rushdown. I usually torture kens online, knock down, block the imminent flaming dp, punish, rinse and repeat. This guy, on the other hand, is a little different. He jump attacks relentlessly. I just played him like 50 times and landed only one neck breaker (cause of the endless jumping). I AA him at least 5 times a round, but once he knocks me down it’s ambiguous cross up time. It’s very hard to even get a hit in because he’s mashing crouching jab. It’s impossible to jump in on him because I get jumping RH’d every time. I can AA him all round but once he gets one jumping combo into flamer he has the lead. He doesn’t mash out dp anymore so that strategy is out the window. Is there a better way to AA than b.MP? Seems like I’ve heard you can combo something after AA b.MP if it hits twice. It’s really frustrating getting beat by someone who never plays except me, and then does the river dance around the house to celebrate his victory. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I don’t know Ike, maybe SF’s just not my game :shake:

You want to do the joystick motion quickly, but delay the button press, and make sure you’re going back to forward.
