I deleted everything not 'cause of F-Word (who invited me to play more, which I may or may not do). I deleted it because I was being a cry baby about abortion, around the same time I played at the event.
But to be honest, I lost my main incentive for making SF content. Advertising for a charity and teaching one specific player. But in hindsight I was just a selfish crybaby. I realise this because at Uni there are people who found out I made the guide and ask the same question again and again.
Do you guys want a Rev.4 if there’s an update?
[/quote]
Yes please! I would love to see an update, and honestly, don’t worry about the whole why you left thing. What happened has happened and the most important thing is that your doing well, and I know what you mean about losing an incentive. It happens to all of us. Don’t feel bad about it.
Well, I’m about to sleep. I just turned 20 today (5th), go me. A friend from Uni is getting me back into fighting games casually (let’s start slow) tomorrow (6th).
To be honest, I have so much work to do, but nothing compares to trying to make a girl feel beautiful and happy everyday. I did it for exactly a whole year, every day, and really, if there was time to complete Mass Effect 3, there’s time to help these forums out once again.
Rev.4 needs to be clearer on how it teaches you. A lot of people asked me questions that were answered in the book. I think adding basics in the book and other tutorials is a good idea.
I want to keep the CrossCounter logo on it though, if a Rev.4 needs to exist. I still don’t like the format of the Makoto guide(s), too much information.
To be honest Rev.4 needs more stuff in between basics and advanced play, possibly adding a Yun page. Only thing is, I can’t fight that dude at all.
Hmm can’t edit anymore on this new SRK. Mingo could you do it? I want the new video link as well as saying it was featured here at 11:00 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79uFYqfOTqc
Thank you so much for the guide. Its is by far the best guide for any character, it’s helped me out a lot(even though i’m just starting out in fighters). Definitely have had the guide up at all times on my computer the past week. thank you. :3
Just thought I’d introduce myself to this forum seeing as we share something in common. We all think ibuki is one of the sexiest character designs to ever bless the fgc
And we all seem to use her to an extent.
My name’s F-Word. I’m a sponsored player/commentator from London (United Kingdom) and I main Ibuki in SSF4AE.
Player strengths: Mentality, Creativity, Mix-Up, Consistency, Aggression
Player Weaknesses: Execution, Match-up Experience, Stage Nerves, Patience
Outside of gaming I work in sales which pretty much occupies my entire life. That and my gorgeous Fiance. So unfortunately I won’t be able to jump on here as often as I would like but I’ve signed up and will drop a line or two here and there when I come across stuff.
Let’s start with one thing… Ibuki eats the most broken unblockable in the game! By miles the most stupidly brain dead unblockable in the history of man kind. It hits so deep that Gen can simply mash ultra and it will all combo! FML… I’ve figured out a few ways out of getting hit by the ultra itself at least but the unblockable itself is just retarded!
If you get a chance to, check out my rrraaaagggooo Ibuki match-ups blog bladz! I’m inexperienced in many match ups so happy to listen to feedback!
I suppose since ver.2013 has been announced there’s is definitely going to be a Rev.4 – I kinda want to keep the naming convention. I’m not sure if the CC logo will still be on it. I’d hope so.
Though, baring in mind that I haven’t played SF4 in god knows how long and admittedly I don’t think I will be able to pick it up like before, I’d want SRK help again. =)
Rev.4 needs a re-design though, such as a dark background this time. I’d also like to include community fan art instead of using 2nd Impact promotional pictures again…
hi i just register to thank Izuna for this amazing work, i love ibuki even though there are so many haters who call her random (i guess that makes me like her even more xD)
and been maining her since ssf4
i really improved my game after reading this guide so i totally recomend it
only think i kind of miss are some frame traps (i know there is the cr lk, cr lk which dont work for me as much as i would like they always grab me )
any suggestion on this regard?
sorry for my english
Hey all, just a heads-up that I need to create space on my server and since I’m moving away from maining Ibuki ahead of Ultra, I’ll be taking this video down. Someone else has already uploaded it to YouTube, but if you want to download a copy for yourself I’ll keep the link active for a few more days.
I haven’t decided for sure simply because I don’t know what the changes in Ultra are going to be, but so far it’s looking like Makoto. There are plenty of small reasons why I started looking elsewhere, but it’s mostly because:
I’m sick of hearing how butthurt people are about Ibuki’s vortex, and I can’t help feeling that Capcom will either nerf her into the ground or fail to ‘fix’ the complaints after all. I know it shouldn’t matter, but I really don’t like having to defend my character all the time against accusations of cheapness.
Basically with the time I was putting into running the Skullgirls forum, I got lazy with AE and started only playing a really awful vortex game, and if I want to fix things I know I’m going to have to go through a painful period of unlearning bad habits, and I figure I could just spend that time learning someone new to at least get me back playing a proper game again.
I’m still planning on keeping Ibuki as a sub, but I feel that if I main her for much longer I’ll just lose interest in the game entirely. That said, if there ever is a rev.4 of the Ibuki guide in the works, I’d be happy to help where I can.
I’m taking out the Match-up section and moving around the “Let’s take a break” pages.
Those of you who I used to play with, I would love to talk to you guys again.
The 40 minute video will be completely redone when USF4 hits PC and will cross-reference the book.
OT: I changed jobs and I actually have free time now. Doubled salary though
RedCaliburn, TheOnlyLight, SevenDaggers, Fore God, Mingo Dynasty and Sky… I need your help, if you’re up for it PM me. I have finances and resources to make this really something now.
Your guide, plus video, plus the various other threads in this subforum really helped me evolve my “Freebuki” into something more artistic and graceful.
I’m hoping that all Ultra is nerfing is her vortex, and emphasize her ground game/CD mixups (which in my opinion when done properly, is more disorienting than her vortex at least visually).
That being said, I’m going to tough it out with her as my main, and I’ve no doubt that your guide Rev4 will be a great tool to have by my side.
The plan is to have a guide to end all guides for Ibuki. Rev.2 was great since almost all Ibuki players were aware of it.
Rev.3 was rather overshadowed by the video, which not only became obsolete too quickly, it didn’t reference the book at all.
What I’m not doing is making the guide anything like the Makoto bible. It needs to be easy to read like always. Referencing is bad practice anyways, I’ve never done it, and most top players have never done it.
Rev.0 was text based just to impress Mingo
Rev.1 was a graphics design experient
Rev.2 was to celebrate joining a team
Rev.3 was a celebration of small popularity and 5000PP on AE PC etc. collaborating with Gootecks
??? will be the english-speaking Ibuki player’s legacy
