Am I supposed to recognize all the trolls in the world?
no but Ghost could have saved some valuable minits of real life not reacting with this long post to an obvious troll/dumb post.
Just saying.
True, though in my defense I couldn’t tell if he was being serious or an asshole for the hell of it. Hard to tell these days on the internet.
When did this happen? Thread name is still the same. I don’t know why he’d be raging anyway. What’s with all this drama going on?
I guess something about the Izuna vs FWord matches (online and offline) that nobody gives a crap about but both players probably taking super seriously? Then somewhere in there someone getting an abortion (Izuna gonna be a daddy?).
Also lol the thread posts about this epic e-drama have also been deleted.
Imo, less drama and more Ibuki content pls.
Amen to that brother, amen to that.
I’d take it more seriously if Izuna actually cared about that match or that he trained for it. It’s not very interesting when you have an egotistical player (F-Word) versus another player who no longer takes the game seriously and has no significant interest in beating him (Izuna).
I don’t even know why F-Word has an ego about it at all. Is he trying to get that esports money and sponsorship? Is that why he’s trying to remove all traces of his failure and promote his mediocre successes?
The abortion thing, I assume Izuna got some baby mama drama or something along those lines. Either way, unfortunate situation for him.
I used to miss the days when fighting games used to be about…you know…the games, and the players. It didn’t used to be about being politically correct, trying to find sponsorships, trying to integrate with e-sports, and finding best friends.
Probably because FWord is (somehow, lol) sponsored by Madcatz I assume, since he always wears a MCZ tag; and because of that he doesn’t want his name tarnished (lol like anybody cares). Also I guess he’s sponsored by WW (Western Wolves?).
Anyways, imo people should stop caring or thinking grudge matches will affect your esports (e-peen) credentials/sponsorships, and instead focus on winning tournaments, which actually nets you real e-sports monies (and sponsorships).
But matches, any type of matches, will always affect your public “standing” in the community, especially when it gets posted on them internets. And the internets is serious business
Hell, you don’t even need to be winning tournaments, you just need to be popular and have people like you in order to get that e-sports money. Look at Mike Ross. He’s never won a single tournament, he’s placed high, but not won, and he’s arguably the most popular player around.
F-Word seems like a douchebag according to all the stuff I’ve read about him from Izuna. Honestly, I think people SHOULD be more like Mike Ross because he doesn’t get super salty when he loses. In fact, I see him smile a lot more than other players. If he really is just doing this for the money, then I don’t know what to say about him.
And sadly, many players are similar to that. I’m somtimes afraid of other players losing themselves after getting a sponsership.
You clearly have not seen Mike Ross in person. He ALWAYS gets super salty when he loses. It’s just that on video, he looks like he’s joking, but dude can seriously get pissed from losing.
Welcome to e-sports. Where common sense, decency, and a sense of camaraderie, take a backseat to getting that e-sports moneys. And people call this “progress”
e-sports money is in high demand, but low supply. Of course people would get mad if they lost their chances of getting money/sponsor.
We’re not quite into true league sport status like NBA/NFL/MLB/etc. where nobody has to get salty because everybody is making 7+ figures whether they win or lose.
I would love to just be a bench-sitter on an NBA team, where they still make a LEAGUE MINIMUM of $500,000/year…to sit on a bench and cheer. Strange.
Anyways, I highly doubt F-Word would lose his sponsor by posting up a video of him losing, he just doesn’t want his e-peen shortened.
I think the problem is that many people think that we should be following e-sports business model or traditional sports model. What we should be doing is following the MMA model, and observing how wildly successful they’ve been in recent years. We are a culturally different group than PC gamers and thus we should be forging our own path instead of blindly following others’ successes. MMA has managed to legitimize itself as a sport, while retaining its “rough edge” feel to it, while allowing the shit talk and grudges, and having a WIDE spectator following to it. Much like the FGC, it was once shunned as a possible sport due to its rough and non family-friendly nature, but it’s been molded to both reach a large audience, get the money involved in doing so, while retaining what made it so enjoyable as a grass-roots activity.
I really wanna see a Mike ‘salt’ Ross. Hopefully I get accepted into UCLA so I can go to WNF every now and then.
Any chance of somebody being able to send the latest version of the guide? The site is currently under maintenance and I cant download it =(.
Cheers.
i met f-word at canada cup. me and him were the only two ibuki players at the tournament, so i shadowed him alot and watched his matches. dunno him personally but he gave me tons of advice and was super friendly.
Just to let you know, UCLA is about 40-50 minutes away from where Super Arcade is (where WNF happens). Mike Ross hasn’t shown up lately due to the fact that he’s always busy with CC stuff and travelling about everywhere he goes. But I would argue that it’s one of the highest concentrations of top level players in the country.
How come nobody is ever excited to meet me? Just kidding.
Obviously because you’re the only Ibuki veteran here without some sort of female avatar.
