I wrote a journal in a blog, cataloging my experiences and thoughts with this game:
If you want to know why I like IaMP then read this post.
I’m sure not everyone would see it the way I do. But I can at least say that it is – by my standards – a well designed, unique, solid, and interesting game.
Some time ago I saw some vids of this game and I liked it. At first I was not going to touch it because I hate lolis but this looks like a quality game.
I’m getting everything right now so I’m gonna test this game out today.
I never really got into a fighting game deeply before
but really this game is alot of fun.
although the timing for the combos are bit hard
I’ve been in irc for sometime now but still haven’t improved much

Seems like the only real constants in iamp tiers, considering most of the cast are ranked so closely, are sakuya & marisa being near the top and meirin being unquestionably the worst.
These matches are so entertaining to watch. Patchouli certainly does not give the impression of a low-tier character. She always has so much crap on screen.
The commentator is also excellent. I learned a lot of stuff from that in-depth commenatary.
Patchouli has wandered all over the tier list since the game’s release, from top to bottom and now settling in at just a bit under mid.
Her biggest problems have always been consistency and difficulty of use. It’s not a very common player that can overcome both issues in a real match, even in Japan. Even then, she has to deal with the Remilia matchup, which is probably one of the worst matchups in the game. (Pretty ironic that Tazu mains Remilia!)
>.< I so badly wanted to see hagoromo’s Alice take no.1 But a Patchouli taking 1st is still epic. Also, lol at the finish. That quote from the announcer had me in stitches.
