It fits awesome!
If it does get muted you can try the fair use thing.
ugh, there are only so many skittles you can eat (to the face) before you get sick of them, heh.
nice vid sp00ky.
more people need to play patch though, so they can share in my pain of not being able to do anything against anyone thats figured out where the magical D button is.
related: for new players that are frustrated playing against patchouli, after playing for a bit, you will literally have a minor epiphany about how to move and suddenly all those bullets will stop hitting you. Its pretty sudden (and saddening for me), so don’t give up hope!
Actually that reminds me, you can see some Marisa (and Sakuya) hitboxes in this photobucket: EyeAmp
Check out her 6A: Marisa-6A.gif
ok, still don’t have the game yet, but one consistent theme i noticed throughout the commentary is “teching after combo = bad”
is this because of the threat of guard crush or what
threat of guardcrush, guardbreak, generally you’re going to be eating a bnb right to the face.
additionally, airteching doesn’t reset your airdashes, so if you’ve already airdashed once or twice before teching, your movement options are severely limited and the opponent can easily set up a really painful situation.
There are exceptions, but its almost always safer to let yourself fall to the ground.
airteching can be fine in certain situations, ie: if you get tagged by a random bullet fullscreen, and you’re not that high off the ground its usually fine.
#iamp is freaking huge now, currently over 100 users. If you want to get in on the action, now’s a really good time as there’s a huge amount of new players.
Many characters have air to air blockstrings that can end up in guard break into another BnB. Since IaMP’s juggling system doesn’t allow for invalid combos/resets it’s better to just drop than to have to deal with the potential damage sometimes.
I never liked Marissa, but then again, I never realised how her puffballs worked, or how much damage she could do off her normals. I always just thought she had speed but sparse bullets. Now I know she can also do mad chip damage too. Hmmmm…
Too bad I’m not fond of the character. Alice ftw.
bell i think this thread needs your flowcharts
Serious Flowchart: Alice
Not-So-Serious Flowcharts: Suika, Yuyuko, Marisa
also btw i finally got the game and have been practicing basic yuyuko stuff. i figure once i can beat booster i should start looking for games
good shit josh
fuck yeah flowcharts
holy shit, that Alice flowchart looks like an alien invasion.
Unfortunately booster is inconsistent because it’s supposedly a “learning AI”. That means depending on what data sets you have/use it could be either smart against some characters or just totally stupid. Each character has a data set against each other character, so…
Anyway, as stupid as it is, I recommend going through story mode once or twice in order to learn how to tri-graze (read wiki) efficiently. Beat the normal AI in versus. Play against booster a bit while switching characters occasionally. And then yeah, look for some games.
But you get what you ask for on IRC, so if you don’t want really strong opponents to start with or if you do want strong opponents, please be specific.
I’m having trouble getting this and pretty much any other jpn PC game to recognize my Hori Fighting Stick EX2. The buttons work fine, but the directional inputs don’t register. Any ideas?
What they said in Blitz thread. Xpadder.
Thanks. Works like a charm!
countdown to yet another person in this thread who won’t show up in the channel
I’ve got to get back in there soon to work on offense/defense strategies and execution, but online is really frustrating so I’m trying to take it little by little anyway.
Someone had mentioned with Reimu doing 5B, 5C, j.2C as pressure and that it was solid if you did it right. My question is, is that mid-screen only and/or what direction do you jump? Because 5C hjc9.2C seems to totally wiff in the corner. Seems you can do 5C, IABD j.A j.C instead in the corner though.
Holy shi…:wow:
Also lol @ the baiting new name of the thread.
5B 5[C] hjc9.2[C] is about third-screen away from the corner minimum. 5[C] hjc9.2[C] is airtight if done correctly but the timing is a bit strict. It’s not completely necessary anyway.
